Members Khan
To this day, I'll never understand the logic behind dumping Ana-Alicia. Melissa was poised to become a major player in Tuscany Valley -- and a threat to Angela and the rest of the Channing/Gioberti clan -- like never before. If done right, it could have changed the show's entire trajectory. But, leave it to FC to shoot itself in the foot at the MOST inopportune time.
Members DRW50
If they needed to save money I would have dumped Lance.
Members te.
They didn't save money - Ana Alicia was paid for all 22 episodes of season 8 PLUS the additional five episodes where she appeared as Melissa's doppelganger since her original contract stated specifically that it was for her playing Melissa, so they had to draft a new one. With that said, I'm not sure if the implications that Ana gives are true - Kristian Alfonso was married from 1987-91 to Simon Macauley. Sure people have affairs, but there's been no indications that it was the case here.. Edited January 18, 2022 by te.
Members Khan
I, myself, would have dumped Emma. I appreciated what Margaret Ladd contributed initially to the show. However, as the series progressed, I think the producers struggled to make her fit into what the show was becoming.
Members Franko
And they'd already given Emma an exit in '88-'89, only to bring her back (I guess so the Charley St. James storyline wouldn't feel like it came out of nowhere?), only to get rid of her again. They really needed to make up their minds with Emma.
Members Chris B
I loved what they did with Emma in the final season. I know it's unpopular, but I thought the final season was great. It was very dark and almost felt like a reboot. It was a big improvement on the previous couple seasons.

Members Chris B
What a nice surprise! I haven’t rewatched Falcon Crest in many years. It’ll be nice to revisit it!
Members te.
Great! There's some season 7 episodes missing in the episode pack that's been on sites, so it'll be nice to be able to rewatch in full.

Members BetterForgotten
It's hilarious that WB owns the rights to ALL of the Lorimar soaps, and yet none of them are on their own streaming service (HBO Max).
Members Soapsuds
You'd think their most successful Dallas would be there yet they have Wonder Woman. They would have to digitally remaster Dallas though. Wonder Woman is already. I think all their programming is on HD.
Members Vee
I'm still waiting for Knots Landing. If I try to pick that show up on Dailymotion or whatever I'll never be able to keep track.
Members Chris 2
I read from a seemingly reliable source on another message board that Dallas is being remastered for HD. This includes the later seasons when it was shot on film, but edited on tape, which requires reassembling the episodes from the original elements (not a small effort). I’m guessing that when this is done, it will show up on HBO Max. You can’t show the current prints on that service - they would just look awful in comparison with the other shows streaming.
