Also, keep in mind that ABC did not Hype the return of Dixie until the last minute. Not all soap fans read the magazines or visit online boards.

It was a federal holiday, it was cliff-hanged on Friday, I was just expecting at the least a 2.9 for Monday, OLTL went and blasted 3.0. But I'm guessing all these shows rating (be it 2.5 or 3.0) equal actual higher numbers of viewers than usual being a lot of people had the week off.

Toups, Y&R was moved around on the west coast on Friday which counts for the drop. I actually wrote an e-mail of complaint to my local affiliate because they moved Y&R from 11am to 10am wihtout warning. They told me the network requested the change actually the day of so there was no time to warn viewers. I'm sure this happened a lot in the west coast. The same for B&B.

Yeah, same here, but I meant for that day. It was moved on Friday to 10am because of the Sun Bowl yet there was no warning scrowl during Thursday's episode.

Right?! Their numbers are way up, and I can't figure out why. It's just the same old same old.
I believe the way ratings are calculated was changed a few months back, and it may actually benefit shows that tend to have older viewers.

I think the retcon where Britt was given a drug to create Huntington's symptoms so that she'll agree to die and work on Faison's project. Next.
So Cassius has turned out to not be the evil twin: he saved Rocco, works for Sidwell/Cullom for Britt's meds, is the only one giving Dante/Lulu good advise about getting Rocco out of town and is keeping Joss alive.
I do wonder they scrapped the Cass/Lulu abruptly. Is it really because of they see potential in J-ass?

Coronation Street: Discussion Thread

Corrie moves so fast compared to U.S soaps. You blink and you miss a major plot twist. It’s definitely not a show I can multitask and scroll on TikTok while watching. (I’ve gotten in the habit of doing that with Y&R. You really don’t miss much anyways.)
Sometimes I think I’ve missed a scene or entire episode because of how they just carry along with stuff so quickly. I like certain aspects of that but other aspects not so much. I feel like certain things do get missed with the speed of their storytelling but I haven’t gotten bored watching it yet, so that should tell you something.

(The World Turns writers had obviously run out of fresh, original material for Barbara Ryan. So they lifted that entire storyline, scene for scene, from a 1970s film called On a Clear Day You Can See Forever. Barbara Ryan became Daisy Gamble from the movie, and Gunnar took the role of Marc Chabot. My mama was watching World Turns daily back then, and she referred to Barbara & Gunnar's storyline as "On a Clear Day You Can See Desperation". 😅)
