+3 I live for that clip, and my favorite part (aside from the way Joan jumps up in her seat and looks around the studio, "Who is this cow?") is the "but I guess they DOOOOOOOOO!!!!" I worked that line into a post here on SON once before. :P

LOL!! It never gets old!!

It's just so random and campy - how could you NOT love it?

-The fact that they sat Joan down in front of that monitor to show her "the evidence"

-Joan's taken aback jump

-Joan's "Who is this old cow?!"

-Joan's "Well, I never heard of her..."

-The slow motion closeups on Charlotte Rae's eyes and mouth, making her seem like a deranged, senile serial killer

-"but I guess they DOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

I'm not even watching it, just sitting here reading your account of it and I'm muffling my LOLs at this hour. Mrs. Garrett vs. Alexis Carrington, you couldn't make that [[email protected]#$%^&*] up. Well maybe on the TVLand Awards or something.

It's funny how indignant Joan gets about not "dissing" (and yes, I am impressed that she's familiar with such slang) your fellow actors when she went on to write a multi-part piece slamming Linda Evans during their tour of Legends!.

She kind of looks like Angelyne in that photo, but I agree that that ain't bad for a woman in her late seventies. As DaytimeFan was getting at, people hear Joan Collins say that she's never had a facelift or "buttocks" (that's how she pronounces botox) and they scoff, but pictures like that are proof that she's a whiz with makeup AND like Morgan Fairchild and Susan Lucci, I have no doubt that she knows just how she must be lit. With great lighting, you don't even need airbrushing. My friend worked with a photographer in L.A. who did amazing work, he made skin look so soft and flawless and even whitened teeth (!) all with lighting, no expensive airbrushing at all. Not saying that Joanie's never been airbrushed, but I'm speaking more to her appearance on television.

Her eyes have baffled me in the past. Back when fX was launched in the mid-'90s, they aired Dynasty reruns and Joan did a bumper ("Hello, I'm Joan Collins, and you're watching Dynasty, on f/x.") Well, she had pretty heavy bags under her eyes in that bumper, then I saw her in something a few years later and they were gone, saw her again a few years later and they were back. Once that fat is gone, it's gone. For good. (Years ago on her hotline Robin Strasser said that she'd never had plastic surgery, but I now assume she meant a facelift. I doubted her because I remember how her eyes looked in the '80s compared to when she came back to OLTL in the '90s, she had definitely had those lower eyelid fat pads removed. She later mentioned in her blog that she did in fact have her eyes done, a doctor took a mini-cannula and liposuctioned the pads out.) So yeah, I don't know how much Joan has fibbed in the past, but I think it's pretty obvious that she hasn't gone to the extremes that people like to rib her about.

And BTW, I think that Alexis Bittar photo is EVERYTHING.

You're absolutely right, when the fat pads under the eyes are gone, they're gone, for good and you never have to have surgery again. It's clear to me that Joan has not had them done. Yes, Joan clearly knows her lighting and clearly knows her makeup. I think she's worked on her skin but not necessarily on her face if that makes sense...she's created a beautiful fabric, but hasn't changed the structure. Lasers and Thermage.

Joan's multi-part mega slam on Linda Evans in The Daily Mail is the stuff dreams are made of. If I'm having an off day, I read that and it picks me up tremendously. She went balls to the wall with those columns...Linda Evans did not come off well and frankly, I can believe it!

It's funny because... Haven't they collaborated on some kind of project not too long ago? And were together on Larry King?

The transcript is here.

Gah, Larry King. The old loon keeps interrupting his guests every five seconds, either because he cannot be bothered to let them finish the question he just asked, or because he has to take a commercial break.

OK, somebody NEEDS to post this infamous Daily Mail article with Joan Collins! I did a Google search but can't seem to find it.

It seems to have been taken down from the Daily Mail's website, but I remembered that someone was kind enough to scan it over at knotsforum/soapchat. Scroll down to find the article:

Is it just me or does Rebecca Budig look different with this latest return to AMC?

Nah, not to me. She's just older and has darker hair.

HOWEVER, DaytimeFan, can you comment on Bobbie Eakes? Her brow looks scarily high these days and her face looks swollen! Brow lift, face lift, what gives?

What do you think of Lisa Rinna's claims that her lips are natural?

And can we think of some men in daytime who have had work done? I can't think of any immediately but I'm sure there are a few.

Bad facelifts on men can sometimes be even more jarring than those on women, like Michael Douglas and Jon Voight. Unless that's just odd aging and not surgery.

..... and let's don't forget about Kenny Rogers and Bruce Jenner.

Hunter Tylo was one of the most breathtakingly beautiful women on television, IMO,I almost couldnt bear watching her after she had all that totally unnessary work done!
