Filler Friday alert, everyone's faves are on today: Lame, Victoria, JT, Colleen, Chipmunk crew, and a little party at the Newman ranch which were really just repeats of scenes at the Newman ranch from the last week or two. What has happened to this show, there are no storylines?

And if Lily wasn't bad enough anyways, now they have her talking in a baby voice like her natural one isn't irritating enough.

It's a weak batch of episode this week - even the eternal optimist in me sees that. Good moments interspersed throughout, but not nearly as strong as the "I hate myself" week, or the Billy/Chloe wedding rehearsal dinner/wedding week.

I'm hoping that next week with

, it'll pick up again. May Sweeps, after all. I haven't given up hope. Yet.

Mary Jane - this b!tch is going to give Sheila a run for her money as Y&R's all-time best villainess. She's getting so creepy. Reminds me of the teasers that MAB blabbed about how Victor's perfect plan goes to hell - and it looks like the fact that she's a PSYCHO is what makes that happen. I'm more convinced than ever it's Patty but with Stacy Haiduk playing her, I don't care who her identity is really. She's FEROCIOUS!

And popular opinions be damned, I like Cane. I like Lily (now). I think Cane's an awesome guy and I think he was way gracious with Billy and Chloe today. Releasing all that anger and turning it into love for Lily is very entertaining and sweet. MAB's a genius for putting him back to his bartender roots and out of the suits. Long live Lane!

Which normally, I'd agree with you. But the episode we compared that to (Jack/Nick at the bar, Phyllis/Sharon at home talking, Kay/Murphy in bed) had beautiful character moments. This week, I'm not really finding it.

But it's okay. Nobody's screaming the H-word (at least on my end). It was a lot weaker than previous weeks, but still watchable. I wasn't beating any drums last year, and I don't plan on beating any drums this year. :P There will be high points and low points, but when the most memorable part of the week was the Chipmunk (and not in a good way), it's a low point. If it keeps up like this for three months, that's another story. But for now, I'm chalking it up to an off-week, and moving on.

And I love my

. LOL!

I enjoyed the Newman party, as I never get tired of seeing Heather try to take on Victor  He is so dismissive towards her, its hilarious. And I think people are panicking just because it was an off week.... things were firing on all cylinders for a good month leading up to the resolution of Katherine's story. Its just a time of transition.... I think anyway.

    • I guess he was let out the gates, because he's outside.
    • Yup.  You can hate John all you want, but like seriously he was the cornerstone of the show for years.  So he should get a long ass funeral and burial and all the things because Drake and John deserve that.

      look who’s at a party I’m at
    • Yes. We should absolutely move on from John/Drake's 40 year legacy on the show to see what Leo is going to do tomorrow.  Lol.  This can't be a serious post.

I came in with a dream and left with a purpose. From lecture halls to rehearsals, community work to creative sets, every moment shaped me. I’m so proud of the stories I’ve told here — and the ones still unfolding. Grateful to everyone who poured into me, supported me, challenged me, and believed in me. Fours up and peace out! #UCLA #ClassOf2025 #BlackBruinExcellence #YearbookVideo @jordanward
    • The actor who plays Martin has been teasing that nobody has guessed Martin's secret. I love that for things like that and the June story we have no idea. I feel like if we didn't have the day ahead feeds Anita's reveal would've been shocking as well. I love that they aren't going the obvious route with these stories.
    • I tried following the news in Los Angeles at https://laist.com (independent public radio and news) They had up-to-the minute accurate info during the wildfires in January. There's no video, no impact to my mind as to what's happening. Trying other outlets, to get the truth, but it's hard.
    • That's a bit murky since that happened during a writers' strike. Assuming Kristen Marie had a 2-year contract she left about when her contract would have expired and Sharlene and Josie showed up right before that. Lemay was officially credited as HW from September 1988 but it seems very probable that his anticipated tenure influenced events that happened during the strike which started in April.
    • I've seen so many posters over the years who are bright, creative, well-versed in soap history, and who care deeply about the integrity of the genre. I'd put the shows' chances in their hands a lot faster than I would allow any of the "usual suspects" to take control of the dramas they've already helped decimate. When I returned to university in the 1980s, I created a bible for a new soap and presented it in my screenwriting class. It was in reaction to how badly I saw the network shows being butchered at the time. The creative process was thrilling; a total joy, and I still smile when I remember the positive feedback I received from the professor and my fellow students. I was used to seeing written commentary from professors on my work. This one wrote me a long, complimentary note on the final page of the bible, but also graded it 97%, A+. I was beaming ear to ear for days!
