But Bashioum...something that was absolutely true in the beginning, and most of the time thereafter....seldom smiled. That totally worked for me, given her background.

Thus, I loved that Clementine Ford was not "perky, pretty Mac" (we had that)...but scowly-sulky Mac. It makes total sense that the horrors of Darfur would have affected her looks and her behavior.

I love that she's not classically "pretty". I think that will encourage the writers to go a little deeper.

You are totally the boss on these looks issues. The only thing I noticed were those bags under the eyes. They were shocking, given how young she is.

Mom Cybill also tends to have that round face.

It is totally fine with me if she is not classically pretty and looks "lived in". Billy Miller, too, is not classically handsome. I'll be delighted if the return of the prodigal/signature couple is cast with folks who can act...and who don't look so "soapy"

But Kay and Murph seemed to be sharing a room.

Are they -- gulp -- having SEX ?!?!?!?!

I am totally in favor of her not being classically 'pretty'...the same goes for Billy Miller, he is not what you'd call 'handsome'...they're both attractive and look 'lived in' but the difference between Miller and Ford is that Miller looks polished and Ford looks burnt out...when you start looking like Mackenzie Browning, Darfur prostitute and mission aid worker saving lives while slinging hash, you've got yourself a problem!

She needs a little tweaking, literally give me a weekend and she'd be fabulous.

I agree they definitely need to trim the cast and if they aren't going to write for Paul and his family then they should just let them go also. I'd still like to see the meddling Mary Williams even if for a brief appearance.

Interesting! I haven't thought about that possibility either; Chloe is the desperate type and there was something in her expression today when she found out about Mac and Billy's past.

I'm agreeing with MarkH on Mac, who knows what she saw in Dufar and it could have aged her therefore the possible answer as to why Ford was cast since she does look a bit older. It's working for me.

Jill despising Katherne and cutting off their relationship...Hate it. Although the way it was written, it wasnt so bad bc Jess Walton really sold it to me. Still I hope this isnt permanent

The Billy/Mac stuff seems so forced. She shows up just as he gets married, just as its revealed they arent cousins and now so many people are trying to push them back together. Um, whatever. I hate that they are making Chloe to yet again be the big loser here.

Speaking of losers, what the hell was TASP doing at the wedding? Someone seriously needs to get a life

LOL...loved Nick ripping into Phyllis

Sharon, you are a hot mess. I really felt bad for Jack there. Ive finally started to like them, only as they are divorcing. Still its best they are apart. Hoping for her to reunite with Nick

Cheap, you actually liked Kay and Jill's "loving" relationship? I've seen a few comment on this, but never really explain why they enjoyed it. To me if always felt so forced and it limited Jess and Jeanne as actors. I'd love to hear your insight.

    • Yes. We should absolutely move on from John/Drake's 40 year legacy on the show to see what Leo is going to do tomorrow.  Lol.  This can't be a serious post.

I came in with a dream and left with a purpose. From lecture halls to rehearsals, community work to creative sets, every moment shaped me. I’m so proud of the stories I’ve told here — and the ones still unfolding. Grateful to everyone who poured into me, supported me, challenged me, and believed in me. Fours up and peace out! #UCLA #ClassOf2025 #BlackBruinExcellence #YearbookVideo @jordanward
    • The actor who plays Martin has been teasing that nobody has guessed Martin's secret. I love that for things like that and the June story we have no idea. I feel like if we didn't have the day ahead feeds Anita's reveal would've been shocking as well. I love that they aren't going the obvious route with these stories.
    • I tried following the news in Los Angeles at https://laist.com (independent public radio and news) They had up-to-the minute accurate info during the wildfires in January. There's no video, no impact to my mind as to what's happening. Trying other outlets, to get the truth, but it's hard.
    • That's a bit murky since that happened during a writers' strike. Assuming Kristen Marie had a 2-year contract she left about when her contract would have expired and Sharlene and Josie showed up right before that. Lemay was officially credited as HW from September 1988 but it seems very probable that his anticipated tenure influenced events that happened during the strike which started in April.
    • I've seen so many posters over the years who are bright, creative, well-versed in soap history, and who care deeply about the integrity of the genre. I'd put the shows' chances in their hands a lot faster than I would allow any of the "usual suspects" to take control of the dramas they've already helped decimate. When I returned to university in the 1980s, I created a bible for a new soap and presented it in my screenwriting class. It was in reaction to how badly I saw the network shows being butchered at the time. The creative process was thrilling; a total joy, and I still smile when I remember the positive feedback I received from the professor and my fellow students. I was used to seeing written commentary from professors on my work. This one wrote me a long, complimentary note on the final page of the bible, but also graded it 97%, A+. I was beaming ear to ear for days!

    • Thanks. I do wonder if Rose was meant to be more given the caliber of actress they hired. I remembered Sara and Peggy staying longer as they were still on when Soapnet started their repeats. I wonder if that was part of the reason they brought Jake's brother in.
    • Speculation about Missy Reeves' potential evolution on basic civil rights doesn’t change my opinion of her. My view is shaped entirely by her public social media presence—which I find unpalatable—and I have no interest in learning more beyond that. I simply liked Jennifer’s hair and dress. That’s as far as my admiration goes.

    • Cheryl was gone before Lemay came back but I agree with your thinking that he would rather a character from a family he introduced to the show than a family he did not originate.  I remember reading somewhere in the early 90's probably after DS left as writer, their was an either a writer or a producer who made a comment that their intent was bring the McKinnon family back to AW.  Would have made sense for the newer viewers from the 80's.  Much like Lemay's attempt to bring the Frames back from his writing in the 70's in his 1988 return
