Meh they should have been courting Murkowski. Just like McConnell spent time courting Manchin and Sinema.   Get the 50 votes that way and how about try Ben Sasse who CLAIMS to support voting rights. Could Murkowski be persuaded to help carve out an exception to the filibuster for voting rights? She'd be more reasonable than Manchin has been. And it's clear he HATES a lot of West Virginians.

The nerve of this man. Of course there will always be bad actors, but that is not a good reason to punish all poor children. I guess it must be easier to live with yourself if you believe people are poor because of moral failings.

I think we are well past this issue. Now we are lurching towards being a completely failed democracy and no one with power knows how to fight it. It's not hard to imagine being under repressive Republican rule for a very long time to come no matter what the majority of people want. Meanwhile, you know who is out there and waiting for another chance in 2024.

For any rep for WV to be against this the way they’ve wasted money on a Highway to nowhere is so stupid. He picked a damn ridiculous time to find fiscal responsibility.  I feel no empathy for that state if a disaster strikes. Let ‘em suffah.  I’m a snowflake but I’m an iron one when I get pissed.

They’re too stupid to notice Trump is picking off their own old guard one by one until there’s no one left but his minions.  They are dumb enough to think one of themselves will emerge to beat him.  And they won’t and then stand around claiming “this isn’t the Republican Party!” Yes it is you dumb*ucks.

The coal miners union normally a big Manchin supporter has asked him to reconsider his stance. Apparently BBB includes an extension to a fund that provides benefits to coal miners suffering from black lung  disease which expires this year. They also praised tax incentives that encourage manufacturers to build facilities in coalfields that would employ thousands of miners who lost their jobs. Imagine Manchin voting NO on this.

    • I'm not sure how I felt about it, but I do kind of like that it felt like the show telling us this concludes the first chapter of the series. Could be interesting if they only do it for big aftermath episodes. The biggest mistake with Martin is that it's almost hard to buy his anger because we've gotten no strong scenes with him and his parents. They've all been with Anita/Vernon. I can't even remember him ever even saying one word to Nicole, even in passing.
    •   Thank you! Agreed on both posts. And the comments about Mike Manning are nonsense.
    • I haven't watched yet, but did they explain the current ownership of The Bistro?  Because when RonC was writing, wasn't he applying for work with Sophia?
    • I think Brandon has gotten better in normal day to day scenes, but he’s very over the top when the character is meant to be angry or agitated. I did laugh when she started yelling at Leslie and then when he started to throw all those damn books, lol. He needs an acting coach to work out some of these kinks.
    • I've never found him as bad as some. I think he's always shined in scenes with Vernon, who should be his father. I also think he has great chemistry with Kat and Dani which I hope they tap into more over time. Dani/Martin feel like such a fun and believable Auntie/Nephew relationship.
    • I'm fighting for my life on another board for my husband Brandon and I'll do it here too lmao
    • I don't expect Lois to be the same person she was 25 years ago, but she's definitely lost a lot of what made Lois unique.  It's clear the show doesn't know how to write for her, and the sole purpose of Lois is to hide this Gio secret.  It's a shame she doesn't interact with more of the canvas.  It's a waste of Rena's talents. I like Brook Kerr most of the time.  She can be hit or miss.  I totally get what you are saying about her line readings too.  I honestly think the character really suffers being stuck in the Curtis pairing.  She's much better than Tanisha Harper's Jordan lol.
    • Friday and yesterday's episode is what daytime television should be. The other shows airing could take a page from yesterday's show.  I loved the rage, hurt and anger Nicole unleashed on Ted.  Daphnee should be up for an Emmy nom for these scenes.  It broke my heart to see how Dana had locked Eva out.  I do feel sorry for Eva.    I am still bumfuzzled as to why Leslie/Dana went to the DuPree's and asked them to accept Kat UNLESS Eva is really Kat's twin (and really Nicole and Ted's daughter that maybe they though they lost or an embryo Dana/Leslie stole??) I loved how Anita and Vernon both shot her down.    Ohhh and let me just say Friday and yesterday was the MOST fire I have seen Martin have since the show started.  Maybe Brandon Clayborn is coming into his own with the role finally.
