I'm wary of how many are now pushing Avenatti as some kind of crusading hero and tsk-tsking Democrats who don't walk behind him. Something about him and his grandstanding just feels off for me. I'm also wary of these accusations, especially the way he's framed them. I know a lot of people (fake concern trolls, like that Jedidah who was on the View and the ever-phony, smarmy Beltway shill George Stephanapolous, and people with real concerns) are concerned about the way the New Yorker story was written too, but at least that didn't come across to me as attention-seeking.

ICAM.

Of course, one might argue, he lied about his sexual conquests IN ORDER to be accepted into that culture.

I'm not saying he lied in order to cover up his virginity, but I'm sure the possibility will come up at some point.

Same!  If he had penetrated either Ms. Ford or Ms. Ramirez, then maybe his "virgin defense" would make sense.  But he didn't; and the fact that he tried to w/ Ms. Ford, but was both too drunk and too clumsy to "finish the job," for lack of a better word, only means he was a virgin who struck out.

But, you see, thanks to his ridiculous lie, he's raised the possibility that he lied in his yearbook about being a "Renate Alumnius."

IOW, what I just said could happen in my last post, has happened already.

Also, from David Mack's twitter:

"other men say the phrase was about signalling they’d all dated or gone to dances with the same girl --"

Yeah. Right.

"but even that insinuation they would be making — in a yearbook, no less — is still really gross"

Ya think?

"All that means is, Renate and I went out once and had a really good time."  Jesus, Brett, you are so pathetic.

I don't trust Avenatti, who I think is out for himself first. I don't want him holding public office and I think he'll immolate himself if he tries.

That being said: He's a street fighter, he's good at doing what a lot of Democratic politicians can't be seen doing, and he serves a useful purpose in situations like these if his ammunition is legit. if he has a real story - and he apparently is telling part of it on Maddow tonight - I welcome that, and I welcome him coming forward with it on Wednesday as promised. Sometimes you need guys like him.

I do think building up someone like this to be a hero is a big mistake.  I expect he has a few skeletons, maybe even bad ones.  I don't care as long as he keeps sticking it to Trump.  He's good at playing the social media game and making life harder for Trump and his cronies. That makes me happy.

Another unfortunate result of Trump's "victory": everyone thinks they can run for political office.  If anything, I see the Trump administration as the reason why we were better off harvesting our candidates from the Ted Casablancas School of Politicking.

There was an article I posted here quite some time ago that describe a lawsuit that he was involved in over an investment that had gone sour.  A coffee bar franchise or something (I can't really remember, it was months ago, I think).

Although I don't believe it qualifies as a bad scandal, he was being sued over some financial and/or contract issue.  I guess it was resolved since I haven't heard of it since. With someone like Trump occupying the White House, I doubt non-payment/business lawsuits matter much in politics now, anyways.

    • I don't believe she did. She did sleep with Simon, believing he was a Spaulding.
    • -- If I ever get sick, please don't send me to Garland Memorial. That hospital is a YIKES. -- Soooo much activity around the main nurses' desk. Do they move dead people on a gurney past that desk, too? -- 8 months for Bill to recover from a "small stroke"? Uh....I don't think so. Is anyone researching this stuff? The hospital stuff is not coming off as realistic. -- It's good that Derek and Ashley are being integrated into other stories, but it's a real stretch to say Leslie was "stalking" Ashley. It makes Derek seem dumber than we already think he is. -- Ashley spends a lot of time having small talk while she's at work. -- Chelsea is embarrassing. Period. -- Tomas is supposed to pick up the slack for Bill, but he has time to have worthless conversations with Leslie? OK then. -- Kat is destroying the case against Leslie, but that's clearly the way to keep Leslie on the canvas.
    • 6-3   I almost let my system just delete the episode just like with B&B. I am now questioning if I should have. lol.   I just can't believe that Cole sat there and started to get sick and then only Victoria off and ran off and everyone basically went back to what they were doing at Nikki's birthday party. Cole was too much of a vet character for that. And now story back off-screen.   I did chuckle at how much Victor pay Kyle dust. And now Kyle with this deal and a promise to leave town if he hurts Claire. smh. As if Victor isn't going to make that happen.   It was lovely to see Ashley. And actually (misdressed and all) Abby.    And I liked Claire's dress.
    • Oh. That. I pretend that never happened.

I did think of another possibility. Did India ever sleep with Alan? They kind of toyed with pairing them up, but I'm not sure they ever became lovers.
    • While I do love the chaotic energy that is Kat vs Lesile, it is a bit extra. Sheltered, virginal Kat who plays it safe from her man to her wardrobe understands that Leslie is dangerous, but she's out here showing up everywhere and anywhere that Lesile is to be found and actively going to places where she is alone? I mean Kat doesn't even act a little afraid or intimidated by Leslie. Meanwhile, big Ole Derek out here begging for his and Ashley's life to Jacob.  As for Dani, I didn't see it that way. Dani and Bill were together for 30 years and shared a family. I believe there was real love there at one point. Bill is still an ass and Dani is still crazy, but realizing she may lose him and her daughter's may lose their dad definitely struck a chord.
    • Funny I randomly saw Kami’s lengthy post about the 44th anniversary of the Walton’s finale last week pop up in my news feed on Facebook. A few inaccuracies to her post but overall it was pretty insightful and interesting to read.
    • Well, depending on rewrites...Jennifer Richards potentially slept with Brandon and Alan. It does feel like we're forgetting someone, but then again, maybe I'm confusing that with brothers, which would include a lot more.
    • Maybe it’s me, and the fact that RC isn’t at the helm, but since Cwikly and Ford have taken over I’ve noticed the show doing a lot of things differently directing wise, and since the storyline of John’s demise began, the show has been using different scores, and dare I say better ones than this time last year. It’s interesting and I wonder if the any of it is Noel Maxam’s influence before being promoted.
    • I think Nicole is about to figure out what's going on between Andre and Dani.
    • @Efulton thank you. I don't know how I missed it or didn't recall it.  I'll blame amnesia . Anyway @Errol Could the newer thread be merged to the existing? Thanks in advance.
