DAYS: Stefano - This Makes No Sense!

You had to remind me of that god-awful storyline, didn't ya?:lol:

It's bad enough that when John and Marlena entered the crypt, I swore it was the same crypt where Marlena trapped John and I went "no, not THAT crypt!"

Thank God those "Days" are long gone.

Didn't John say the other day that he had the skeleton tested and it was not a match for Stefano?

Yes, he did :)

Doesn't it make you have horrible flashbacks?

How did John have the corpse tested? Did it float back to Salem?

Yes, it floated back underground in the same passageway the coffins used to take.

Besides, wasn't crazy Tony talking "on the phone" to Stefano when he already knew Stefano was "dead?" He's probably not the most unimpeachable source about Stefano's status.

If that was Tony! It may have been Andre for all we know.

This thread is making me shudder at the thought of what that stupid island trash was.

Like Kenny said, a story like that involving most of the cast could've been incredible but it turned into a train wreck. I remember LMAO at the corpse.

I remember John examining the corpse and touching the hand and head so perhaps he took a sample of something and tested it back at home. Only thing is John did get injured on the way back but I guess if he had a sample of something he could've put it in something to protect it. I suppose he could've gave it to Abe or Bo too..

It doesn't matter-sit back and enjoy because remembering that stuff makes me cringe. It it too soon for me to remember all that and not get sick.

Ask me again in a few years and maybe I can stomach it all

Well, I mentioned that above...It's possible Tony really was talking to Stefano, but for some reason brought out the fake corpse on the island. I don't know what the point was of the fake corpse AND ashes. One should've sufficed, although I guess after it was proven that the ashes weren't Stefano's, Tony needed a fake corpse to continue to fake Stefano's death.

If I remember correctly, JER insisted on playing the story like a Psycho ripoff, with Tony as Norman Bates, thinking he was talking to "Mother" (Stefano) when it was really a skeletal corpse and all in his mind. I think even JER even said so in an interview at the time. It's much more simple to remember the original explanation - Tony was deranged, and now we see he was probably duped by his father. He really believed he was talking to Stefano, and that he had Stefano sitting in a chair in his lair.

Bad, bad, bad memories.

Anyways back to the topic at hand. In a way it does make sense considering this is DAYS, this is Stefano DiMera we're talking about. Stefano having put a another corpse in the tomb isn't that much of a shock. He's done far more shocking things in the past.

Rion, your rails afgainst the Stefano in the crypt thing are laughable, IMO. It's entirely far fetched that John somehow tested the corpse - however, the intention wasn't to find Stefano. It was to find EJ's connection, and this was just a happy accident. In finding the coffin, being John, he had to see if there was anything inside. And there wasn't. Plain and simple. And history teaches him that a lack of corpse could very well mean alive and kicking, especially where the "old man" is concerned. I had a problem with their being a coffin where the last believable reference to his death with in ashes, from which Celeste felt Stefano's vibrations. Even if he were dead, I doubt he'd be in his coffin! Meanwhile, yes, the ashes could have been fake, but that's yet another variable to a long complicated equation and it's too late for math.

The ashes were proven fake. Celeste didn't get Stefano's vibes from them...that's what led to it being analyzed in the first place.

If Heifer's gonna bring back Stefano, he's going to have to connect it to the last time we "saw" Stefano---on Tony's island.

Sheffer can do whatever he wants. Writers ignore history all the time. What makes him special?

Did Colin die again? Aww Bart. I miss Bart.
