I dunno.  Christopher Meloni's okay, but Stabler was so damaged by years of bad writing on SVU.  Plus, I'm not sure I dig the premise all that much.  He's head of an organized crime task force?  Again, I dunno.  I see Stabler working as a private investigator, totally disillusioned by his years in law enforcement.

@Khan, with the right parner [and no CERTAINLY NOT Mariska], this could be really good.  I really like Elliot and his stance on child abuse.  I also thought it was incredibly sexy when Elliot rolled up his sleeves and tucked his tie into his shirt because that meant someone was getting an ass whipping!

Benson needs to stay away...FAR FAR AWAY.  I once loved Benson to the point of not wanting to watch The Closer because it felt like I was cheating.  Then Benson ate the show whole with bad decisions and help from Mariska.  Hate her!

Stabler as a private investigator would be so different and old school, and I would probably even make an effort to regularly watch it.

As far as this is actually concerned, I'm getting "Untouchables but with season-long arcs" vibes. I'll probably never watch this, but I love Christopher Meloni and hope it's a success, which it most likely will be.

    • No, he was pining for that walking sleeping pill Ashley, and then later texted Dani for a hookup when he felt lonely. He and Dani got into it a bit as she’s not ready to be seen openly with him still, and they both realized they were hung up on other people - Andre on Ashley (thought he never said her name) and especially Dani on Bill.  Of course neither learnt anything and then proceeded to have sex again.
    • I'm glad there's a pool set if only for the eye candy. I do think they need to be careful when filming. Today, the direction was off with Kai in the pool -- it looked like he was sitting in a wading pool, and it was clear there was no depth to the water. Also, as I mentioned before, the view from those large windows looks fake as hell.
    • From my notes: San Cristobal with an “a” is from ANOTHER WORLD. Mac, Carl, their fathers, Ian Rains & his father, and Paulina had history on that equatorial island. Paulina was visiting there researching her past & fell for both Ian & Jake McKinnon! San Cristobel with an “e” is from GUIDING LIGHT and is the island kingdom where Prince Richard & Prince Edmund were from. Others with history there were Reva when she was Princess Katherine, Jonathan, Olivia, etc.
    • Schenkel was indeed a disaster.     During 1985, the following characters exited the show: Brian Bancroft, Sandy Cory, Blaine Ewing Cory, Jamie Frame, the first Peter Love, Alice Matthews Frame, Ben McKinnon, Vince McKinnon, Mark Singleton, Perry Hutchins, Grant Todd, and Tony the Tuna.   The following characters were introduced and quickly disappeared Chris Chapin, Neal Cory, Dee Evans, Daniel Gabriel, Michaud Christophe, Edward Gerard, Daphne Grimaldi, Zane Lindquist, and Brittany Peterson.   The only successful characters Schenkel introduced were Bridget Connell, Vicky Hudson, and Jake McKinnon.   Schenkel recasted the popular Sally Frame with Taylor Miller when Mary Page Keller left AW.  Also, he recasted Peter Love twice in 1985 with Christopher Holder and Marcus Smythe.   Schenkel brought back Carl Hutchins for the Egyptian/Arizona treasure story with the poisonous dust.
    • Was Andre about to use the L word with Dani?
    • Honestly, she should have went splat on the bottom since it looks only 4 feet or less.  I stopped watching by that time, but since they were in L.A. I could believe it.
    • My mistake. San Cristobal. I've seen it as Alamainia, Alamainland, and my personal favorite, Ubilam ("Malibu" spelled backwards). I was sticking to non-U.S. locations, but I suppose Aremid could have been Canadian. Ah, yes. Haiti?
    • You're very, very welcome! Nice seeing things appreciated.
    • No, not just you. And I think I remember that set; honestly, a lot of the L.A. sets stand out more in my head, and their stellar outdoor scenes.
    • I think the GH pool set works. Ask yourself if there was anything wrong with it when Kristina crashed through Ava's window?
