And then Thomas married Gabby and worked for Spectra with Thorne. I remember 2005 being probably the last really fun year before the show got downright trashy ridiculous for a few years there.

It really was daytime’s most successful business story by far and shook up dynamics for years especially as for Newman’s takeover of Jabot. The Forrester/Spectra rivalry of the 90s is in second place. Otherwise it’s been “Who’s going to run Spaulding?” or “Who’s going to run Titan?” type battles.

That reminds me, at the time I was thinking after Mindy had gotten pregnant that the Alex/Mindy rivalry was going to go way of Katherine & Jill especially after Mindy would have the baby. Alas that never occurred and while I don’t think Alex would ever go off the rails like Kay did I could see her entertaining a man younger than her to make her feel better about Roger & Mindy’s affair and then again battle Mindy again for affection instead of what we got on screen with Alex, Mindy, Eve, and Nick.

Darla all over again lol. But it would make sense if it’s Flo or Shauna because right now both are dead weight.

Brash & Sassy wasn’t a Jabot product, that was Victoria’s own personal product and brand all the way. BTW anyone recall what Gregory Richards on Sunset Beach’s source of money was? I know he was supposed to be a hot shot high priced attorney but we never saw him practice law much, seems he always a shareholder in a lot of schemes and properties more than anything else. Same A.J. Deschanel...old real estate money from his father?

Wasn’t Newman supposed to be either a Gulf&Western or a P&G type conglomerate? I don’t think Y&R disclosed exactly what Prentiss did either; Chancellor of course was a manufacturing company with a large factory in Genoa City but I’m not sure what they manufactured. We had this discussion about Spaulding Enterprises recently as well. They might have been closer to P&G or Colgate Palmolive as Spaulding did pharmaceuticals but also had media division. As for Lewis Oil it made sense they were from Oklahoma but moving their base operations to Springfield was a bit ridiculous, and Lewis Construction was made more glamorous than what a construction company should be. Jennifer on Days? She’s a reporter. Mainly with Jack’s newspaper but also did TV as well. I think at some point she became PR for the hospital. I don’t know what happened to Chloe’s opera singing career.

Ya rumors are circulating that either Vinny or Flo are about to be off’d. Speculation is Flo is mysteriously killed with Hope being the prime suspect after having a fit of rage after learning about Flo becoming a Logan. 🤣 But knowing B&B recent past of teasing about dead characters it could be anyone.

That almost reminds me of the botched up job JG did several years ago with the bullying story involving Fen, Summer, and Jamie and that drug dealing Raven(?) girl.

I always liked Alyvia Alyn Lind and enjoyed that her as Faith was kept around like Grimes was as Cassie or Darcy Rose Brynes was as Abby. It helped that Lind appears to have inherited her mother’s talent. Hopefully the new actress is able to act.

I think you summed it it very well! On paper I think Keith Dennison could’ve worked quite well but the actor playing him was so not dynamic at all. Maybe someone like Tristan Rogers should have been cast as Keith instead of that really crappy P.I. role he had on B&B at the time. It reminded me of what went wrong with Blade, possibly intriguing character but wrong actor for the role. I too loved Tony and Megan and it seemed for a minute they were going to be Y&R’s next big couple but they were quickly sidelined with the rise of the Glo by Jabot kids. Some people blamed the recast but I think it was lazy on the show’s half if they couldn’t come up with early 20’s angst.

Will do! It’s been a while since I have seen it myself but I remember first watching it during one of those SoapNet weekend marathons and then it just standing out. Mainly thanks to Koslow’s raw emotion & desperation and in the aftermath of the argument the poignant scene of Marlena telling Roman no special treatment, put her in cuffs and take her down to the station for formal questioning.

It sure was interesting! I think it crashed and burned though after EJ’s shooting when the two had a big argument in front of Roman when they were accusing each other of shooting EJ.
