  1. LOL especially since Donna just randomly pops up for no reason. Brooke was the one who told Hope back in 2018 that it was okay to a pursue a married man at all costs no matter what the cost lol.
  2. Gloria Marsh profile: 1991: Nurse Gloria Marsh arrived in Pine Valley with revenge on her mind. Her fiancé, Craig Lawson, had left her with no reason and pile of bills. She got wind of his latest plot to siphon off mourning widow Dixie Cooney’s vast trust fund. Craig begged Gloria to keep silent. She would only agree if Craig agreed to continue their affair. Things began to change when Gloria actually met the kindhearted Dixie. She felt guilt over her affair. But already, she was in too deep and did not know how to find her way out. 1992: When Gloria’s involvement with Craig was revealed, she became an outcast in her new town. While getting drunk at a roadside bar, Gloria met Will Cortlandt. She flirted openly with Will but was not expecting anything more. Will was not about to be led on, and raped her that night. When Will was found dead in his apartment, Gloria was among the many suspects investigated. Gloria took refuge in Wildwind as personal nurse to the recovering Angelique Marick. Gloria’s new position in Wildwind helped to her to recover some of the dignity she had lost in as a result of her very public indiscretions. 1993: Gloria began working at the hospital again. There, she met kind Stuart Chandler. Gloria fell in love with Stuart. But, his brother Adam Chandler had other plans for her. Adam promised to give Gloria everything that she ever wanted. Gloria tried to be content with her relationship with Stuart, but Adam was always in the back of her mind. On the day she was to marry Stuart, Gloria admitted that she had feelings for Adam. Instead, she and Adam married on his yacht, Fidelity. But Adam and Gloria’s happiness met an early hurdle. Adam experienced paralysis as a result of a car accident. Adam hired Alec McIntyre to take care of his affairs as he recovered. Alec shamelessly flirted with Gloria. She did her best to keep true to her marital vows. One night, Alec and Gloria were stranded in a snowstorm. At Adam’s cabin, Gloria gave in to temptation. Alec promised that he would leave town after they made love. Only, Alec liked the new arrangement and reneged on his promise. 1994: Gloria thought Adam was missing. Really, he had faked his disappearance upon learning of her affair with Alec. He was masquerading at Chandler Mansion as Stuart. When Gloria found out the truth, she plotted her own revenge. Upon Adam’s miraculous return, they were to remarry in a lavish ceremony at the Valley Inn. At the ceremony, Gloria told Adam that she would not marry him if he were the last man alive. At that moment, a tornado came crashing through. Gloria watched as the tornado destroyed the inn. At the end of day, Gloria announced that she would be leaving Adam. But the break was not as clean as she hoped. She was now pregnant with his child. 1995: Gloria was devastated when her baby, Anna Claire Chandler, died soon after childbirth. In a psychotic state, she blamed Adam for the baby’s death. Adam caught her trying to poison him. Gloria went to Oak Haven to recover from her loss. 1996: Gloria comforted Tad after Dixie left him. Gloria was the only person in Pine Valley Dixie had remained in contact with. Gloria felt guilty because she began to have feelings for Tad. 1997: Gloria had fallen in love with Tad. But she could not get past his history with other women. When Gloria found out Liza Chandler was pregnant, she wrongly came to the conclusion that Tad was the child’s father. Gloria turned to her old friend Dimitri. Dimitri had just broken up with Erica Kane. Both friends learned to lean on each other. Dimitri surprised Gloria with a proposal. She accepted though her heart still belonged to Tad. Dimitri told Gloria they were going to his native home in Hungary, Vadzel for their long awaited honeymoon. Really, Dimitri was on the run with Madelyn Grey. He had just learned that Madelyn was not his daughter. Dimitri’s brother Edmund Grey and Tad snuck into Vadzel to reclaim Madelyn. Tad convinced Gloria to read the paternity test. When she realized Madelyn was Edmund’s daughter, she begged Dimtiri to give up the child. Gloria remained in Vadzel to comfort Dimitri, but he pushed his new wife away. 1998: At the first annual Crystal Ball, Gloria watched Dimitri confront Tad and Edmund at gunpoint over his embarrassment at Vadzel. Gloria stopped Dimitri from hurting them. After a heated argument, she told her husband their marriage was over. Gloria tried to clear her mind at the hospital. A storm hit Pine Valley and caused a major bus accident. As Gloria tried to tend to the victims, con man Ryan Lavery tried to make it appear as if he was on the bus too so as to cash in on the settlement. Gloria saw through Ryan’s act. But before she could do anything, Dimitri was admitted after a tree branch at Wildwind fell on him. He was in need of blood, and the hospital was out. Gloria realized Ryan was a match. She threatened to turn Ryan in to the authorities if he did not give her the donation she needed. Gloria stood vigil over Dimitri until he awoke from his coma. When he awoke, she gave him her wedding ring, and left Pine Valley forever.
  3. For the longest it always seemed to me as Genoa City grew was a Y&R replacement for Milwaukee as I always heard the characters talk about other regional locations such as Chicago, Madison, Green Bay etc. but never mention Milwaukee not once. During Isabella’s disappearance I remember it was alleged Christine dumped Isabella’s body in Lake Michigan. Finally a couple years ago the city of Milwaukee was finally mentioned. I appreciate though Y&R had some veracity though as Dru and Neil once went off to Crystal Lake Illinois which is very close to the real life Genoa City. I think Harmony was in Maine? SFT’s Henderson’s location was never stated I don’t believe but during the infamous flood story of 1986 the TV weatherman had pointed to the real life Henderson KY on the weather map.
  4. Matt & Tricia pulling a Thelma & Louise and driving their Jeep off a cliff was shocking enough I had almost the story had ended there as that was VERY stark already for a soap. Reva on GL jumped off a bridge but it did lead to a nice revitalization in her life. I believe they blamed her mental issues in the 1990 story as a bad case of PTSD from her pregnancy with Shayne.
  5. Someone mentioned about going recurring as well as GL’s 2005 budget cuts I definitely remember the show offering up some sort of recurring deals with Liz Kiefer and Beth Chamberlain and gave the same option to Van Dorn but he of course jumped ship. I know Chappell stood her ground during her own 2005 negotiations like KZ but didn’t get the backlash Zimmer got.
  6. LOL after seeing her Dynasty work I was thinking think her or Jamie Luner would fit but yeah knowing JG & Morina we would end up getting like either Melchior or Rebecca Budig.
  7. I agree. Seeing Theo today reminded of much I miss Y&R having a full time devious/sleazy character. Kyle lacks his dad’s “Smilin’ Jack” charm, Summer lacks her mother’s thunder etc. Speaking of Theo, why wasn’t THAT secret found out about when Kyle & Lola were about to marry? Sheesh. Theo’s story reminded of that lousy soliloquy Sharon gave to Nick about the Sandra Anderson crap back under Pratt. I now fully expect in three months some random second string actress like Kelly Rutherford pop up with Kyle’s love child.
  8. A couple I specifically remember: I remember on Y&R MAB yammering that Tucker McCall was inspired by Richard Branson and McCall Unlimited was based on Virgin Group. Sunset Beach’s Sara Cummings and Melinda Fall were timely based on Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp respectively as Brian Patrick Clarke’s US Congressman character was obviously based on Clinton. Passions’ Sheridan was originally inspired to be Diana. I seem to recall someone trying to connect the Kiriakis family on Days to the Onassis/Niarchos families.
  9. Season 4 is currently filming and is expected to come out in April but now the show has been renewed for a fifth season as well for the 2021-22 season: https://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/dynasty-season-five-early-2021-22-renewal-for-cw-reboot-series/
  10. Ugh godawful quad from hell involving Chance/Chloe/Ronan/Riegel’s Heather. 🤢🤢
  11. Why is Thomas still wondering about Hope when Vinny is right in front of him? 🤔 Glad Zoe was put in her place but I agree this quad has been so underdeveloped.
  12. I wonder when that began? I guess both capitalized on their popularity by late the 70’s it seems. We probably should be glad the Bell soaps have always listed cast credit alphabetically as I am quite sure there would be a real power struggle over who got starring/top billing as well as “and with...” credits by the 90’s.
  13. Actors I know that got special billing: ATWT: When the show switched its cast credits from listed by seniority to listed alphabetically Don Hastings always got listed first, and of course Eileen Fulton special end credit. AW: AW’s end credits were by seniority although there was Denise Alexander’s special credit. VW got listed first by default. Days: MacDonald Carey Frances Reid Deirdre Hall 1991-2009 Wayne Northrop 1991-94 GL: Kim Zimmer. Even though GL’s credits were alphabetical, when Deborah Zoe was on Zimmer was listed after Zoe in the closing credits.
  14. Thanks for sharing, I had the feeling the interview was going to mention the cult Chopping Mall lol(I think the same folks that did Night of the Comet did Chopping Mall as well). It’s a shame she didn’t mention any of her five soap roles.
  15. LOL. This is the part where I wish the show had actually kept Dina on longer than they originally did and have her become more of a vibrant long term character instead of popping up every few years after spending lots of time in spas with younger men or whatever the excuse was. I have read the show almost brought on Marc’s kid sister Danielle Mergeron (think Cricket’s age I guess, maybe even as old as Lauren/Traci) can’t even imagine how that would’ve gone down had they done so. As far as penthouses go lol I hadn’t even thought about that but then again Dallas also gave April a glamorous penthouse as well around the same time too.
  16. Thanks for sharing!!! Just a few thoughts: —This was Amy’s ‘88 exit? I am glad she at least got something as opposed to just disappearing and of course we got her brief 1990 return. Oddly enough 16 years later in 2004 Lynne was given a similar exit as she had leave to help her mother in Ohio or something. - I have seen glimpses of it before but ED’s brunette hair just looks unnatural on her. In fact the hair is so straightened for the late 80s I’m trying to tell if she was actually wearing a wig or not. - How much longer was Marc on the show? His 87-88 return always struck me as odd and from what I can tell it was much ado about nothing about Marc and Joanna’s affair as both SSH and Frank M. Bernard are only three years apart in age. Marc was basically a Dynasty reject on Daytime instead. -The shots of Cassandra that Paul fantasizes about are basically a prelude to how Cassandra and Brittany Norman will later appear in the opening credits of 1988-91
  17. Pretty much! The downside is the show weirdly let Kyle & Summer have a victory lap for no reason at all after all that went into Kyle & Lola as well as Summer’s paranoia and acting like her mom. Kyle and Summer have never had a spark of chemistry whatsoever no matter who’s playing them. 🤢
  18. LOL Goddard didn’t appear for a full two months after demanding the Traci story end. Then he announced a big new Cane story was coming and was all excited about it yet next thing you know he was fired. I believe TPTB let Goddard film his final scenes without telling him that was it LOL. Hence why I take Boaz’s IG post with a grain of salt in a way.
  19. It’s amazing how a temp actor showed how much the current actor was so bad in the role! SOD just broke the news as well: https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/donny-boaz-out-at-yr/
  20. Most likely sleeps 😴😴 The only things of some interest to me are Devon/Amanda/Nate/Elena and the Jack/Sally stuff. The rest of the show is a tragic mess and feels like it is being ghost written by Brad Bell aka Thudley the way it is stuck on repeat.
  21. I had heard Theo was coming back through unofficial channels but this is the first official announcement I have seen. Not even sure why the show let Theo go in the first place either, as it seemed he was finally given something interesting to do right before he left.
  22. Agreed. I still can’t JER to this day had Katherine Noone’s character on Passions PEE on her daughter’s wedding dress to sabatoge it.
  23. Same with Kyle Lowder as Brady and Jason Cook as Shawn-D by that point 🤣 The first actor who replaced Clarke was too horrible for words; very obese and that’s when they gave Mickey, Julie, and Bonnie were that disgusting chili cookoff story where Mickey and Julie ended up crapping their pants. Then the show recast with John Ingle Clarke left because he wanted to retire, but I wonder if the SSK was too much for him at the time.
  24. I’m sorry but Ulrich would’ve been wayyy too old to play Beth; a Hope Bauer recast in the 90’s would’ve worked but also wouldn’t have. She was too old to play Diana on ATWT as well but that is what it is. In defense of Ulrich I do wish she had stayed in daytime as I’m quite sure should’ve fit well into a long term running vixen role as opposed to the insipid roles shows like Dallas, Wings, Sisters, Major Dad etc gave her when she was looking for her “big break “ that never happened.
  25. James easily could have built a bond with the Hughes women over coffee of course! Then when Bob has his affair with Susan we would have seen either Kim or Nancy personally ask James to have one of his hitmen execute Susan. 😉🤣
