Unfortunately my only memories of Voigts as Mickey was the chili cookout contest where Mickey and Julie both crapped their pants after eating Bonnie’s spicy chili, I think it was around the time Beth crapped her pants complete sound effects on Passions during a confrontation with Sheridan. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Shades of letting Tyler Johnson abruptly go and then bring him back a couple months later for a mini story to set new things in motion. After all the story built up for him they couldn’t keep him around? Same with what happened to Lola becoming non-existent although Calle is off onto bigger and better things it appears. The funny thing is both characters were sacrificed for Kyle & Summer yet it’s really amazing the show abruptly lost both Skyle actors…which strikes a strange note. I wonder just how “low” Y&R offered them?! I had a feeling the two would eventually come back but not this soon. Maybe this plays into my new notion that Sally is going to frame Phyllis for her staged murder🤣

Wow sad to hear this, enjoyed Jack’s story for the past year especially Ashford’s work with McClain. Is Marci Miller suppose to come back as Abby? Wasn’t sure what happened there although I knew she did give birth to a kid a few months back but Days’ schedule makes no sense lol.

I’m more curious if they go the route of Tripp & Johnny not liking each other only to end of in a very passionate embrace 😁 One could wish lol. As for Melinda I wonder her resentment/hate boner towards her fellow Salemites stems from her unresolved bitterness of her daughter’s death? I like this actress better than the previous one, it be interesting if her character was better explored in depth instead of being a one note bloodthirsty prosecutor.

LOL it’s so weird looking back now. Fifteen years in say 1998 was 1983 and people were all about seeing the good old days. Now here in 2021 15 years ago is 2006 and no one wants to see that crap again. 🙃

It occurred during that messy period when the show had lost EB and MTS so you did not miss much lol. I think the saddest thing about today's Y&R is that it reminds me of ATWT's final days where the potential is there but is definitely not being tapped at all and no improvement at all for the foreseeable future. LOL I remember either you or someone else mentioned that fact during the classics thread to which I am glad that nothing from that year was aired at all as well. Probably the worst stuff I remember airing was a post-volcano episode (but it was supposed to be about Kevin and Chloe LMAO) and some crappy 2012 episode where Sharon and Nikki fought in the barn which I forgave because MAB was fired around the time the episode aired.

The details are a bit fuzzy for me now lol but back in 2009 Daniel got himself in an art forgery ring that was run by Deacon, Ryder, and Daisy, and somehow one of the art thieves in the ring was murdered and Daniel was accused of the thief's murder. The thief had actually been murdered by Daisy and/or Sarah Smythe(Sheila's sister lol) but they left a sloppy trail of evidence that Phyllis deduced they would find evidence exonerating Daniel in the GC landfill. Thus they all met in the landfill one late night and did find the evidence. Katherine & Murphy being in the landfill to assist Daniel & Amber's predicament was just a precursor to the helicopter they flew a few months later during the climax to the Sara Smythe story 🤣

I am a bit confused by this Calista Lockhart (WTF at the name 😄) story. Are they retconning what actually happened to Bonnie’s ex or is this some other Lockhart sibling that Bonnie was involved with? I just remember that depressing caper about Mimi killing her dad complete with skeleton in the church and that squirrely kid that was Connor Lockhart lol.

Recent scandals aside how do Morina & Griffith even have jobs still at least creatively? They fumbled and lost Mealor & King, still haven’t recast Chance and right now there is zero storyline and direction for anyone on canvas.

Ah the 2007-2011 era of B&B was so laughably bad it was awful. If I recall right it was Thomas who was the one who ended up being Rick’s would be killer although they never explained how he learned to build a car bomb lol. I miss Drew Tyler Bell was my favorite Thomas but he quit acting. So far Atkinson is my second fav Thomas because both Gregory & Fode were quite dreadful in the roles. I have the misfortune of forever seeing Gregory’s Thomas ingest those aphrodisiac berries with Brooke while stranded on a tropical island. 🤣🤣🤣

LMAO, the first fall with a shoe flying off. This was during the "Everyone hates Rick so who is trying to kill him?" era right? I remember the show at one point pretty much had Ridge, Taylor, Nick, Thorne, Stephanie, Steffy, Jackie, Owen etc. all plotting to kill Rick. There even was a car bomb and a random propane tank explosion LOL, and the show even brought back CJ, Jake, and Rocco as red herrings for who was trying to kill Rick.

Out of the Ashes was 2007, which is of Y&R’s worst years ever. 2006 did have the ice storm event in which Carmen was murdered and Summer was born in the elevator.

Probably something about unnecessary bitterness over what happened to his own demented turned suddenly incontinent preteen son with a brain tumor that made him evil/psychotic. Seriously, that’s how I remember their breakup happened. After teasing for weeks Stitch and Abby were to be reconciled I just remember Stitch returned in one episode and informed Abby that Max had a setback and was fully incontinent/diapered again or something and it was too much for Abby to take. They quickly divorced amicably after that and Stitch just faded into the background and was gone in early 2017 without an exit.

The first half of 2006 was pretty solid work and the show felt like it was getting refocused again. There were some great moments like Neil finding out the truth about Lily’s paternity, Victoria/JT one night stand, Sharon’s famous confrontation with Nick In Phyllis’s lingerie, and the initial tainted face cream story was pretty juicy. Then came along Brad’s past and Victor’s mystical epilepsy complete with lousy Hope recast (wasn’t it the lady who played Tracy McKay on Dallas lol?). That along with Jack becoming the devil incarnate the show quickly went off the rails by late summer.

LOL Summer and Sally fought over the JCV position for months but now all the sudden Gloria gets the job? 🤣🤣🤣

Nader was absolutely wonderful and so memorable as Dex on Dynasty. I loved him with Alexis and enjoyed him straight to the end of his run with the Sable story. Even though I remember his personal life issues were splattered across the Soap Press in the late 90s/early 00’s I always remember him being a complete class act on screen. RIP indeed.

Did we really need to know that Eric suddenly can’t get it up? 🤢🤢 Maybe that should have been a plot point before all this began. Maybe Thudley needs to rewatch John/Jill/Jed story from 1994 lol.

And in typical Thudley fashion we’re also burning through this story at warp speed. Never start a story with a climax lol.

The paternity “bombshell” has been pretty underwhelming. Are Jack & Li that interesting to be thrown into a Sheila story?

It was pretty ridiculous but I guess there wasn’t room for someone like Mari Jo on canvas especially with Phyllis on at the same time? Granted Mari Jo had always been a leery, treacherous femme fatale type character but her meltdown was OOC and of course there’s no going back when a character attacks the show’s heroine Cricket 🤣. Also for some reason The Who Shot Victor missed two important story beats that should have been included: 1) Jill having a one night stand with Ryan and 2) Victor doing something to piss off Jack and/or John for the last time. Brad’s motive was solid; Jill’s was pretty weak but it would have been more interesting if she had actually slept with Ryan, Victor knew and held it over head because he would tell Nina and Victoria. For the second beat Victor could have seen green and was in the process of selling the Jabot name off to another rival conglomerate much to Jack & John’s chagrin; yet somehow Victor’s shooting came at a time when Victor, Jack and John were all playing very nice with each other. Mari Jo shooting Victor over a Fax about her past and for the love of Jack just didn’t ring true.
