Not that I need to explain myself, but I am re-organizing the primetime forums because there's too much disorganization and it is hard to find a thread about any specific show, and there are duplicates in certain parts. The hope is to get things organized similar to how the Discuss the Soaps: Cancelled Soaps forum is organized.

Yes, this franchise airs on Bravo, which is an NBC | Peacock property. To help people find the thread in case they start worrying, I have implemented an informed re-direct for 30 days which is more than enough time to get people to find the thread within its proper home.

Starting on Monday, January 1, there will be a link available listing all shows and the discussion threads attributed to them to better provide visitors with the ability to discuss anything about said show with people who also watch it as well. This will cut back on clutter and allow proper continuity for commentary.

    Thanks

  2. I’m probably in the minority but I’m enjoying Steve Burton so much more on Days than on GH. It’s not like Harris has tons of personality but there’s still a hell of a lot more than Jason Morgan. And honestly after seeing him on GH with the same people for so long, it’s nice to see him with some new actors; I don’t even mind the pairing with Ava, as it’s been so long since they were Carly and Jason together.

  3. Just finished the Horton Christmas episode. I know we have so few Hortons left on canvas but I still love this episode every year. And wow the flashbacks we got this year were amazing!! I had never seen Doug’s first Horton Christmas, or the Christmas with Tom in the hospital. Wonderful episode.

Loved ending with Doug and Julie. Bill Hayes made me tear up right along with them.

Ironically, I had completely forgotten why Stephanie and Alex broke up until I was reminded about the phone thing.  Meanwhile, that was like their second date.  It makes Chad's jealousy seem more like an excuse to not commit to the relationship.

If the actor who portrayed Colin passed by me on the street, I wouldn't be able to recall him at all.

The list serves as evidence of the multitude of storylines that unfold in DAYS within a year. Whether for better or worse, one can hardly accuse the show of being stagnant, as it consistently experiences a whirlwind of events.

I was actually shocked when I realized all of this happened this year.

Thank you!  That's more or less what I thought.  The thing is with a Melanie pairing he would have always had some story even if he was on the backburner for a bit.  Perhaps Hapka thought the jobs would roll in a just miscalculated.  I doesn't seem like an insurmountable difference to work out especially when the regime changed and they could have brought Nathan back, but I guess the character was just dropped instead.

AK's Stephanie just lacks depth in general.  She is practically perfect in every way without nuance and has numerous men fighting for her attention.  It's just a very simplistic view of the character and it makes Stephanie boring.

IIrc, he claimed he went to Higley requesting meatier material (which is why Nathan & Melanie got the virus storyline) but then they decided to part ways because she told him he'd be backburner for a while and then he left.  He came off super salty.  However, this alleged mutual split happened at exactly the same time Jay Johnson & Shelley Hennig very abruptly left . . . so the show likely decided to cut their losses, leaving Melanie left as the lone survivor from that rectangle because Higley and Tomlin were obsessed with Molly Burnett.

I thought Mark Hapka was great and this rectangle was the best story on the show at the time.  Losing these three within weeks of each other (when they were midway through huge story) was profoundly disappointing.  The show pivoted creatively quite a bit during the first quarter of 2011 into abysmal disaster, leading to Higley and Tomlin getting fired.

I think AK is a very natural and charismatic actress and I don't mind her as Stephanie at all . . . but recalling this story makes me miss SH's unexpectedly messy, manipulative, deeply insecure Steph SOOO much . . . this version is remarkably unremarkable and divorced of everything that made her a hit as a surprise schemer.

AK’s Stephanie is just so…there. Nice and there. I don’t see any of SH’s Stephanie. Like I could never even see this version of Stephanie with Phillip. Well at least JKJ’s Phillip.

I did it... and it reminded me why I enjoyed the reboot much more. Kristen is the standout for me, though.

Interesting, felt the total opposite except for Kristen which I agree. Honestly the ladies aren’t even falling over black out drunk like everyone says is all they used to do and that is working for me. Even Dorinda whom I was reminded why I hate her in episode 1, wasn’t so bad by 2 and 3.

I did! The first two episodes.

It is so, so good. So funny. A great mix and the casting of RHONY Legacy ladies was perfect.

10/10 - if anyone is missing out on it, give it a chance.

It was just amazing to me how much better it was than the entirety of the reboot and we haven’t even gotten the full season yet. While Kristen was seen as random casting at first, I think through the first three episodes she’s more than earned her spot.

Oh, I agree, I thought I would lead with saying something positive.😇 I gave up on B&B years ago, an I was never a faithful viewer of the two other remaining soaps, tbh).
Most of the drama seems to be left out of the show entirely now. Once upon a time, seeing a character wrestle with these issues was what kept us tuned in, I mean, even to hear an inner voice exclaiming how much of a rush it is, while another somber voice warning how destruction is usually just on the horizon once this adrenaline rush appears. I mean, it doesn’t have to be more than a few scenes scattered over a few episodes, they could have sandwiched it in when Billy is having yet another meeting with Chelsea at the coffeehouse, his thoughts could drift, while Chelsea yammers on about some work project. I remember when soaps used to do this, sure, movies like Airplane! took up the device and used it for comedic effect but they did it because it’s an effective device to express a character’s feelings about something.

These shows could have a lot of life in the right hands but these guys are tanking these shows’ prospects.

On a separate note, is Audra’s weakness young scions from prominent families? Will she have any interaction with Noah when he visits? It would be interesting if somehow Noah were still able to summon some deeper feeling. I think they’re trying to do that with Audra’s conflicting feelings about Kyle but it’s too mixed in with the scheming and double-dealing with Tucker. Noah would be a true litmus test as to whether Audra is more than a superficial person, whether there is any depth.

Audra and Noah are exes but their interactions were still pretty minimal before he was written off with Allie.
