  1. No doubt, Michael Flynn is one person who's glad for the coronavirus. Otherwise, we'd be raising such a stink over his possible (and probable) full pardon. At least, we'd have a number to shoot for: two weeks, fourteen days. Leaving it open-ended ("lockdown until we can review the situation") only adds to the panic and confusion.
  2. AMEN.
  3. Chances are, though, Matt Colvin will just end up on "The Bachelor" or "Big Brother." Yeah, I read that. But, he managed to have enough cash on hand to make that big of a purchase? He made THAT kind of money being a third party seller?
  4. Kevin Stitt is our state's answer to Donald Trump. He, too, keeps proving how incompetent he is at leading people. When the CDC and the local media reported that we had 2-3 positive cases of coronavirus, Gov. Stitt dragged his feet on closing our schools, claiming he wanted to see more evidence of community spreading before taking such action. (Friend/former high school classmate: "If you see community spreading, it's already too late."). Schools did close, of course, but I think they did so independently of his judgment. Here's my question: where did he get the money to BUY all that stuff? I mean, he somehow purchased 17,000 bottles of hand sanitizer, while Mama Khan and I are out here, with our maxed-out credit cards, clipping coupons for free haircuts (and looking like [!@#$%^&*] in the process). That just does not seem fair.
  5. If we end up re-electing that a-hole in November after THIS mess, then I'm perfectly prepared to stow away on a boat or plane, leave behind my loved ones and head for a nation with more responsible leaders. Seriously. I'm not gonna f**king die, because my fellow Americans are a rotten electorate.
  6. ICAM. I don't knock those who choose to self-quarantine out of concern for others. IMO, protecting the elderly and immunity-compromised should be our top priority right now. But, on the other hand, we can't shut down everything forever, or even for an extended period of time (meaning, more than a couple of weeks). At some point, we'll need to know what to do next. Unfortunately, I don't believe our current administration will have the answers. It'll have to be up to our state and local governments -- just as it has been thus far -- to inform us when it's okay to resume some semblance of our normal routines.
  7. Agree. On both counts. Above all else, people need to remain calm. However, when you see people raiding grocery store shelves for things like toilet paper (!?), or going online and spreading misinformation, conspiracy theories and doomsday advice, it isn't easy to do. I struggle daily with depression- and anxiety-related issues, so the LAST thing someone like ME needs to see is other people panicking and acting irrationally, because that just amplifies my own issues. My advice: if you're feeling overloaded emotionally by all the information (and "information") that keeps coming out about this virus, then do yourself a favor and "unplug" from social media and the news for awhile. The CDC and WHO have issued all the precautions you need to take to help you (and your loved ones) deal with this problem. Okay, why are people hoarding bottled water? Has the CDC/NIH/WHO warned us not to use tap water? Meanwhile, at every grocery store I've gone to, hand soaps (some anti-bacterial, some not), body washes, shampoos/conditioners and deodorants languish on the shelves. People REALLY need to stop and think, lol.
  8. Just because he and AF have made a baby? You do know gay men can still get women pregnant, right?
  9. Well, at the very least, someone in that administration should've had the guts and the brains to "break glass" on the 25th Amendment when it was clear how badly Donald Trump and Mike Pence were handling this thing. Our president and vice president should never be allowed to politicize something like a pandemic out of a need to improve their chances of reelection.
  10. I'd believe it! The thing is, Donald Trump is afraid high numbers will hurt his chances for reelection, but what good does it do him to allow this virus to spread throughout the country when everyone's too sick or dead to go to the polls in November? Not too bright, Donald! Not too bright!
  11. It'd be almost karmic justice for Donald Trump and/or Mike Pence to be tested positive for coronavirus. Rudy Gobert had to learn the hard way that arrogance and carelessness have their price. How long are we gonna have to remain on alert? Because, as it is, my anxiety's already in overdrive!
  12. Why am I not surprised? That old poop will never pass up an opportunity to cry for his precious "revolution." I'm not even bothering to watch. I agree, @Vee, he'll just weave in his usual, tired stump speech. He is such an intractable s.o.b.
  13. Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders stands in another corner, railing that coronavirus is spreading on account of Wall Street billionaires stealing money, food, medicine and everything else out from us hard-working, tax-paying citizens. (No, not really. But, most likely, that's what he's saying right now.)
  14. Forgive me for asking what's probably a stupid question, but...have there been any cases of people who have recovered from coronavirus catching it again? Has anyone suffered any lingering body damage as a result of carrying the virus?
  15. Normally, I would be mad at NBC for normalizing this creature. But, in a way, the Trump administration's very existence has helped to normalize Sarah Palin in ways that will never cease to astound me. Exactly. We just aren't in the mood these days even to entertain another woman, POC or WOC running for president (and probably won't be for a very long time). The past four years, I'm heartbroken to say, have scared us back into "safe mode" -- which, in this case, is another old, white dude.
  16. I must agree. Michael Bloomberg's from NYC, which is like ground zero for the family Trump and their many, shady criminal enterprises. If anyone knows where the (figurative and literal) bodies are buried....
  17. Of course, he will; and yes, his cult followers will believe him. But, the rest of the planet will know better. The rest of the world looked to Donald Trump to lead this charge as it always looks to our president in times like these. He let them down. Bigly.
  18. If he and/or his wife dies, Donald Trump and the rest of the United States will never be able to live it down.
  19. What do you expect from someone who defended the racists in Ferguson, MO, and who proudly displayed a Confederate flag (with Dem Duke Boyz) in their avatar? Clearly, he/she/they are going to believe our overgrown toddler of a president over the actual science. Not that I'm wishing death on anyone, per se, but if coronavirus were to rid our world, somehow, of a few extra racists, anti-vaxxers and other booger-eating spazzes, then it'd be worth the self-imposed social isolation and other drastic measures.
  20. Not today, devil. Not today.
  21. One thing about it: here, in OKC, we have a mayor (David Holt) whom I grew up with, and who is the ONLY Republican I could trust to be smart about this. I don't know what, if anything, he can do at the city level; but, if he has anything in mind, I'm all ears! Oh, God, I hope so, lol. I feel God has been sending us signals all along, telling us just how big of a mistake we made in electing that s.o.b. to be our leader. (Mama Khan, on the other hand, believes God sent Donald Trump, because we needed an [!@#$%^&*] in charge who wasn't beholden to anyone and who could get rid of all the pedophiles. Or something like that.). But, because we, as a country, have been misinterpreting or outright ignoring all those signals, God just decided to turn his head, as they say, and allow nature to do what it must. Perhaps now, with so many about to be sick or worse, people will FINALLY receive the message. Perhaps.
  22. I doubt the average American takes it seriously even now. Not when people are convinced 1) you can catch this thing from drinking Corona beer or 2) you can catch it from eating Chinese food.
  23. I'd laugh, too, if it weren't the damn truth. I'm trying my best not to panic. However, I live in a state (Oklahoma) that probably agrees with Donald Trump and FOX News that it's all a hoax and the media is inflating the numbers. Ergo, I don't believe enough Oklahomans will take this seriously at all, leaving people like yours truly (and his 71-year-old, type 2 diabetic mother) at risk. I think this country is screwed all over. But, leave it to The Donald to care more about his damn ego than he does about keeping the American public alive and well. He's gonna kill us all.
  24. And all because we hated a Black man being our president.
