I hope she gets the chance, too. I would have gladly voted for Elizabeth Warren, had I believed she stood the best chance of defeating Donald Trump. She actually came into this contest with plans and not just rhetoric. I just believe that we still aren't ready for a female president, and that after everything we have been through with Trump, people are too skittish -- maybe more skittish than ever -- to break that glass ceiling. Nope. If there's one thing I know about Black women, it's that they don't like their names in other people's mouths without their permission. By the way, has anyone else been following the back-and-forth between John Roberts and Chuck Schumer?

So, according to the Washington Post, our president told Fox News' Sean Hannity that he has a "hunch" the mortality numbers on the coronavirus are being inflated. (The CDC says the mortality rate is 3.4%. Donald Trump believes it to be more like one). Mind you, he has no intel to back up his latest claims; he just has a hunch. If I've said it once, I've said it a million times: this [!@#$%^&*] is gonna get us all killed. In that regard, Bernie Sanders is a lot like my ex-sister-in-law (who is a conservative Republican, by the way). Neither will address the issue of racism in this country, because neither believes racism exists or exists anymore.

Mama Khan heard on some crackpot YouTube channel that Joe Biden is rumored to be considering Michelle Obama as his running mate. "And what would their campaign slogan be," I asked. "'Reunited, and It Feels So Good'?" I swear, as much as people hate the Clintons and the Obamas, not only do they talk a lot about them, but they also appear to be more willing to see them BACK on the political stage more than folks who actually love them!

Oh, I get it: Black people shut his "revolution" down last night; so, now, he's gonna do whatever it takes -- even use our president -- to get us to vote for his basic ass. Someone please stop this s.o.b. before he takes it upon himself to get a Jheri curl, tap dance or eat fried chicken. On second thought, let Bernie get the Jheri curl. I could use more hard laughs.

Two thoughts: 1. The only way a woman will ever get to be president in this country is if she can straddle the hood of a car like Tawny Kitaen. 2. Next time Mike Bloomberg wants to blow through a ton of cash in a hurry, he should do like the rest of us and go to Vegas. But seriously. Same. It's way past time for many people in this country to admit that their revolution is not coming. That ALONE should make rational people think twice before voting for Bernie Sanders. It cannot be said enough: the South Carolina primary changed everything. EVERYTHING. And, like @marceline said upthread, all it took was giving African-Americans their chance to be heard.

Texas hasn't been called yet. Nevertheless, the fact that it remains so close between Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders proves (to me) that Sanders' supposed stronghold over Latino voters isn't all that strong after all. If it were, I think we'd be more sure about the results there. If Elizabeth Warren were to drop out tomorrow, to whom would her followers shift their support? Would they align themselves with Biden, or with Sanders? On the one hand, it seems like a no-brainer that they would go to another progressive, like Sanders. But, on the other hand, Bernie Bros have been so toxic that I actually see Warren's followers' support shifting toward Biden instead.

And this is bad, because...? Who needs the Secret Service when you have...your wife? But seriously. Jill Biden was taking a TREMENDOUS risk to protect her husband like she did. I hope she's okay.

Pretty much, lol! For most of Bernie Sanders' supporters, getting rid of Donald Trump isn't enough, because they have convinced themselves that every politician on either side of the proverbial aisle is a corrupt elitist whose hands are in the pockets of every Wall Street billionaire. Ergo, electing Joe Biden (or any politician other than their designated savior) would be just more of the same kind of politics that puts the interests of the rich over everything else. To them, only Bernie is "pure" enough to dismantle the system, as it exists, and bring about a revolution that would finally put the working class first. At least, that's what they surmised when a few saw him in the upper room and felt the stigmata in his hands. Translation: "Welp, that's a billion dollars I'll never get back!"

Okay, number one, who are these people; and number two, when will the cleaners have their white hoods and robes ready to be picked up? And, you know, Biden wasn't wrong in telling millennials to "work harder." You can't have everything in life handed to you on silver platters, kids. That just isn't the way the world works. They must've gotten lost in the parking lots.

Perhaps, young voters are more cynical than even I had realized. Perhaps, in their opinion, none of this matters, because no matter WHO gets into the WH (or, in Donald Trump's case, who gets to stay), nothing will change. And if that's true, then who could blame them for the way they feel? There are times when I question whether anything ever truly gets done in D.C. that helps us and not hurt us. What can I say? We know a fool when we see one! When Elizabeth Warren can't win even her home state, it's time to call it a campaign.

Yup. I remember, too, the hell the MSM gave his wife, because she had the nerve to say she would continue her work, as a doctor, even if her husband were to be elected president. The MSM -- and, let's face it, many, bass-ackward-thinking Americans -- have a real problem with women who don't believe happiness means spending half their lives in the kitchen, and the other half in the bedroom. I think they saw and heard Judith Steinberg Dean; said, "No more Hillary Clintons!;" and decided that Howie had to be neutralized. Hence, the brouhaha over his scream.

Frankly, I'm beginning to think it's more than that. I think we, as a country, are simply not ready for a female president. Not after the last four years, which have left us feeling shell-shocked and risk-averse, to put it mildly. After four years of Donald J. Trump as president, I think those who don't support him just want a return to normalcy and the status quo -- which, thanks to generations of conditioning, means having an older, white male in the Oval Office (but, God willing, one more competent at the job than the current one). If, by some miracle, Joe Biden (or Bernie Sanders) were to win the general election, I believe we will see the start of an era not unlike the post-Abraham Lincoln/post-Civil War and Reconstruction era, when you had a succession of largely forgettable commanders-in-chief who weren't expected to be (or who didn't turn out to be) revolutionaries, but instead just kept the proverbial ship from steering off-course again. I think it'll be up to the next generation to try for a female president, or even another non-white one; because, from where I sit, this country is simply too exhausted from Trump, and too nervous about upending more norms, to take a chance even on someone like Elizabeth Warren.

She might not win Oklahoma either, and she was born and raised here! If not for being a spoiler of sorts for Bernie Sanders, I'd wonder just how important she remains to this contest. Well...there's that.
