  1. SOD is behaving as if Charles Shaughnessy's exit from GH was unplanned, lol.
  2. It's almost as if there were TWO GH's happening during that period. Ask anyone in the industry or the press, and all they can mention is Luke and Laura and the stupid Ice Princess (and - oh, yeah - the rape, too). But, ask actual, everyday GH fans, as I have, and you know what they talk about? Rick and Monica and Alan and Lesley and Tracy and Jeff and Heather and Anne and Scotty...and, of course, Bobbie. Luke and Laura is almost like a footnote to many who actually watched the show.
  3. I agree. I also agree with @DRW50 and @Vee that Jean LeClerc and Jeremy Hunter felt shoehorned into the show. Of course, the fact that I was a lifelong AMC fan might color my judgment, lol, but I've never been fond of ABCD's habit of cross-pollinating characters between shows. I think the only time it ever worked for me was when Gerald Anthony took his OLTL character, Marco Dane, to GH; and that's because I thought he played very well off Jane Elliot. GH could have brought him on as a new character and still have him as a foil to Tracy and it would have been just fine.
  4. Luke and Laura's escapades might have captured the zeitgeist, but I don't think JZ ever gets enough credit for her part in saving GH from the axe. You just have to watch some clips on YT from before JZ/Gloria Monty/Douglas Marland to know that the show was going nowhere before the Scotty/Laura/Bobbie triangle took off.
  5. Well, I certainly wish HP a speedy recovery, but it's going to be very awkward seeing two different actors (one temporary, the other permanent) playing Alexis' daughters in the same week.
  6. I think Preston Beckman, a.k.a. "The Masked Programmer," said it best: television always regresses to the mean.
  7. From the start, JZ imbued Bobbie with so much heart and soul that you couldn't help but root for her, despite her function as spoiler for Scotty and Laura's romance. And her scenes of grief over B.J.'s death? In a word: phenomenal. She, along with everyone else involved in that story, set a standard in daytime that has yet to be matched. This is just so unreal. We have to appreciate the few, remaining daytime vets we still have while we can.
  8. I can't believe this is happening. Jackie Zeman, gone? This has to be some kind of sick joke. What that lady was able to accomplish through her work on GH -- taking a scheming, self-centered student nurse and turning her into one of most beloved heroines in soaps -- is astonishing. Damn. Just...damn.
  9. Why can't Nina just barge her way into the wedding? Is there a restraining order against her? I'm not even sure why Willow hates Nina. Weren't Nelle and Willow taken from Nina when Nina was still in a coma? Yet, unless I'm missing something, and I probably am, Willow acts as if that was Nina's fault!
  10. Too bad DAYS tapes five years ahead. I'd like to see how it would be written by someone other than Ron Carlivati.
  11. They did that when they gave him airtime in the run-up to the 2016 election. Tonight was just the devil finally collecting on the debt.
  12. I still don't know why Frank didn't just update the "Autumn Breeze" opening with the ambulance driving past the hospital. It's short, it's iconic, it can be done on the cheap and it needs zero updating to reflect cast changes.
  13. Did CNN really believe this would go smoothly?
  14. Speaking of the current cast, I realize wikipedia isn't 100-percent reliable, but is the list of recurring/guest cast members really that long? It seems like GH has more recurring and guest players on its' roster right now than on-contract players. If that's true, then that is just...nuts, lol.
  15. Oops, lol. I'm not surprised that Hulu and Disney+ will merge. There are just too many streaming options out there; they need to consolidate where they can.
  16. If Murdoch weren't going to support Trump anymore, who WOULD he support? Certainly not Biden!
  17. I'm going to get into so much trouble for this, but why not? I've always wanted to see Jane Elliot paired on-screen with Justin Deas. I think the two would make a great, sarcastic pairing. And I think Tracy is overdue for a pairing with someone who isn't a total loser. Now, before the tomatoes start a-flying, allow me to bow out as gracefully as I can, lol.
  18. I wonder what they'll call the new, merged platform. "HuDis"?
  19. That was also the last time I, as a lifelong OLTL viewer, felt I was invested in the show.
  20. What Lisa Hartman wants more than KL stardom is a hit song that isn't a duet with her husband. Compare that to DALLAS, where the best that they could do was have Sue Ellen sell lingerie.
  21. Nah, Jane Elliot has more than earned her retirement. I'm satisfied with her from-time-to-time visits.
