  1. Hopefully, it won't start with some little girl warning that "evil is coming!"
  2. Yep! So, what happens if/when the writers decide to have Chase or BLQ have a (sexless) affair? Will Josh or Amanda be concerned about how that infidelity will come across to their kids as they're surfing the interwebs? IMO, there's a difference between respecting the actors' wishes and allowing the actors to hold the show hostage. What Josh and Amanda are doing is no different than what MB, SB and TG have done; and frankly, it needs to stop. It was more like a joke, but okay, lol. More than likely, if Finn were to crash his car while intoxicated, Chase would die from his injuries, and either Finn would go to prison for manslaughter, or he'd have to leave PC (with Violet!) in disgrace.
  3. Well, I stand corrected on the religious aspects, but I stand behind by everything else I've said. Amanda (and Josh) really should think about working elsewhere if they're not entirely comfortable with doing intimate scenes for whatever reason, because I am so not here for this chaste as hell Jane Austen crap. Especially when neither the actors nor their characters are interesting enough to pull it off. Like you said, @carolineg, GH's love scenes are pretty tame - in fact, I find most love scenes on soaps to be pretty tame these days - and it's not as if they're having to do full-frontal nudity or perform anal sex or anything. I agree! I'm totally okay with a scenario that involves Finn getting drunk and behind the wheel of a car, Chase trying to get him to pull over and let him drive instead and Finn crashing the car and killing them both.
  4. I'm sure Josh Swickard would welcome the change! He can't be happy playing Almanzo Wilder to Setton's Half-Pint every day.
  5. Yup, lol. On the one hand, I totally respect Setton's religious convictions. But, on the other hand, if she's not comfortable anymore playing love scenes or wearing clothes that show off more than her wrists and ankles, then maybe a job on a daytime soap opera is not for her. And I say that as someone who is a devout Christian. (Same goes for Steve Burton, by the way! Steve? If you're reading this? God is not going to send you to Hell if you parade around on camera in a Speedo or make out on screen with someone who is not your wife. He gets that you're just acting, okay? Besides, that tattoo sleeve you're sporting these days has Him a lot more concerned than flashing that six-pack.)
  6. So, it's not just Elizabeth Korte who props those two (although, she's probably the most flagrant offender). Thanks, @Liberty City!
  7. Were Chris and Dan pro-Carly/Sonny as well, or did they have a more balanced view of those characters?
  8. I tried to watch SC when it premiered and I just couldn't get past one episode.
  9. I'm no psychiatrist, but it sounds to me like Mr. Granger was a perfectionist who was being much too hard on himself.
  10. He didn't even get his name on the door yet, lol! I'm not sure if I would've liked Drew getting involved in politics. I would've needed to see that play out a little bit before making up my mind. But, it's probably moot now.
  11. I think what gets me the most about that storyline is not that the writers are attempting to redeem Heather after 20-plus years of bad behavior, but the means through which they're doing so. A poisonous hip replacement!? That's "Sun Also Sets"-level stupid, lol. I could buy PM not going along with the Hip Replacement from Hell (despite rumors/reports suggesting otherwise) but I can't buy that issue alone being the dealbreaker. I think the straw that broke that camel's back - more than even Korte's Carly bias, in fact - is exactly what @Vee alluded to above: the rumor(s) that FV refused to let him trim the cast. You can swallow your pride and write that Heather is all better now with her new hip, but coming up with good storylines for 450 characters (including all those damn kids) while still writing Latham/Lechowick-esque scenes that can't run longer than an Ozempic ad? Girl, no.
  12. Now I'm wishing she would ask EB for his favorite curse word, or what MTS hopes to be the first words she hears when she arrives in Heaven.
  13. That's kind of what I'm saying, @dragonflies. B&B is littered with characters who have been used so much in the stories that they're used up, preventing the show from really evolving.
  14. B&B's problem is the same problem Bill Bell probably had with Y&R before he chose to phase out the original families and refocus the show. In both situation, you have a core group of characters who have been depleted by years of constant, front-burner storylines and questionable recasts. If Bradley were anything like his dad, he'd recognize that the time is now to revamp the show from top to bottom.
  15. I still can't believe it took so many recasts to make Faith work even a little; and even when they DID have a successful recast with Karen Morris-Gowdy, her Faith was so different from what Faith was originally, she might as well have been an entirely new character.
  16. Which was dumb, because what 12-year-old controls their household's finances? And if 12-year-olds do, in fact, determine which purchases are made for the rest of the family, no wonder this country is in so much trouble, lol. I know TPTB argued, "Well, if we get them at 12-17 years old, they'll be fans forever," but the problem there is what happens when they DO get older? Are you still going to tailor your writing to the 12-17 year olds and ignore those who have "aged out"? Or are you going to acknowledge that your original fans have grown up and, in fact, require more sophisticated writing (which means you are, in fact, no longer writing for 12-17 year olds)? PASSIONS just needed to do what every other, new soap has done: write for a general (meaning: adult) audience and hope that future generations of fans will grow through those who were/are first exposed to the show through their mothers, grandmothers, etc.
  17. That's pretty much my rebuttal to everyone who says this proves PM isn't HW material. I can't even accuse him of merely continuing his predecessor's storylines - like I could with Douglas Marland and THE DOCTORS - because PM wasn't there long enough to know if that was his intention!
  18. At the very least, Chase and BLQ should possess contrasting personalities, like early Tom and Margo (ATWT) or Mason and Julia (SaBa), so that even if there aren't any big, soapy obstacles to their happiness, they're still entertaining to watch. I liked the idea of BLQ's wealth becoming an issue for her and Chase, especially if Chase had been in a position where he was unable to provide for the two of them financially, which, in turn, would have caused him to feel like less of a man and sent him down a very different path. Unfortunately, they've played the Chase is injured/Chase is off the force storyline already.
  19. Like I said, the whole Mulcahey/Korte experiment has been weird. Never, in all my years of soap viewing, have I ever witnessed any soap spending so long doing absolutely nothing. Never! Even the worst of the worst HW's have hit the ground running whenever they began decimating yet another, beloved show. That's why I'm convinced there's been a power struggle BTS, regardless of who's spilling what tea and whether their tea is, in fact, legit. I mean, the results speak for themselves. THIS is what happens when you've got a team (HW's and EP) who can't agree on anything. You just get some great dialogue and a bunch of people changing jobs, lol. You know something's wrong when, as soon as a couple gets married, you're looking forward to when they get divorced. God knows I could do without Chase OR Josh Swickard, but dear God, no one deserves to be married to GH's answer to Laura Ingalls Wilder.
  20. Ron Carlivati's writing is a great equalizer. No matter how skilled you are as a writer, working with his ideas turns you into a hack. Oh, this show is so toxic. Peacock would almost be doing it a favor by reneging (sp?) on their renewal.
  21. Plus, there's just so much craziness going on right now (both on screen and, apparently, BTS) that it's like, "How can you NOT comment?," lol.
  22. What can you say? The past several months on GH have been weird as well, lol! No cliffhangers, promising scenes and storylines that lead to nothing, endless amounts of time spent on events that very few, if any, care about; moments that just make you sit up and wonder if you're having a stroke.... If even part of this is Elizabeth Korte's vision for GH, then I'd be very afraid.
  23. Every week, I would read previews and such for the show; and every week, my reaction would be the same: "If this [!@#$%^&*] is bad on paper, I can only imagine how it's playing out on screen!" I tried watching PASSIONS from the beginning, but I bailed fairly quickly, because it was clear that the show was nothing more than JER run amok. NBCD literally handed that man a briefcase full of cash to inflict his issues on the American public; and for that, I'll never forgive them.
  24. I agree. It's an awkward situation, to be sure, but I don't think it merits "punishing" her for her spouse's sins.
