  1. Thanks for the link, @janea4old!!
  2. Why play it safe? Screw the budget and do both! But seriously. I'm at the point where characters literally could stop appearing with no explanation and I wouldn't even bat an eyelid. There's just too damn many people, GH!
  3. Amazing!! I haven't been watching again long enough to come up with plans so expansive, but I'm down for anything (and I mean anything) that would prune this cast, lol.
  4. My childhood memories of Greg Nelson are that of a "fine, upstanding, young man," who wasn't perfect, but who possessed many admirable and welcome qualities, including integrity and compassion. IOW, the kind of solid, relatable leading man you really don't see anymore on soaps (and if you do, they're boring as hell, lol).
  5. Same here. I don't remember a lot from my early childhood, but I remember watching soaps, and I remember watching Greg and Jenny on AMC in particular.
  6. I really enjoyed watching his work on CAPITOL when I was a youngin', before I knew anything about HS or any writer. I think he and Peggy O'Shea were the only HW's who made that particular show work.
  7. You know, I wonder if the reason why there seems to be a lack of big cliffhangers is because they're relying on the next episode's previews to hook the audience instead.
  8. Perhaps now would be the time to get that Cody/Mac story "up and pumping" again?
  9. I like that, but I'm also down with @BetterForgotten and their hopes for a full-on, Moldavian-style assault, too, lol.
  10. I used to think it would’ve been cool for David Jacobs to have developed an anthology-like spinoff series centered around some of the people who work and, um, play at LP.
  11. If getting rid of her poisoned hip cures Heather of her BLT obsession, then it all will have been worth it.
  12. I think it would be a shame to have a classic troublemaker like Heather be reduced to a wacky sidekick. (I don't believe that's where this team is heading with Heather, I'm just saying.)
  13. Rule of thumb: never give your partner anything that a stripper could name herself after.
  14. I hope you're talking about the ancient Greek tragedy and not the Tyler Perry travesty. I'm joking. That...? Should be very easy to accomplish.
  15. Me, too. If the opening looks like something you could make on your iPhone, I'll never forgive them.
  16. The woman who gave us the immortal line "Which one of you bitches is my mother?" RIP Ms. Conran.
  17. Well, like I always say, if you didn't make more than a few questionable fashion statements in the '80's, then you really weren't there.
  18. I want a story where the husband is cheating on the wife...with a man...who is white.
  19. I actually had a joke about the hospital setting up a job fair/hiring event since it seems so many in PC are currently unhappy with how they earn their paychecks, lol. And IA about the show needing to deep breathe, etc. I realize EK/PM jumped aboard with little-to-no time to prepare a long-term bible, but I also believe you could do that AND move the current stories along a little faster if you make the time for it.
  20. At first, I suspected that the striking writers (whoever they were) had no idea about the BTS tensions between DH and SR and that production moves too fast to really do anything about that kind of stuff. But now, I'm not so sure.
  21. Gail Brown always reminds me of Karen Black for some reason.
  22. Ideally, yes. But Marj could not have come on at a worse time for GL.
  23. I'm just gonna chalk up the apparent emotional distance between Marlena and Maggie to "it's not really 'Doc,' it's one of her clones," and leave it at that, lol. But seriously. This is when you need a Frank Valentini-type to come in and mediate. Maybe invite SR and DH to lunch at some nice, pricey restaurant where there's lots of wine, and everyone can sit down and (hopefully) hash out their differences in a peaceful manner. Trust me: nothing smooths over the rough patches between two women better than a bottle or two of chardonnay.
  24. For sure, I think the writing for Natalia has been one-dimensional and heavy-handed. One thing that I loved (and still miss) about AMC was how Agnes Nixon and her writers could make even the most bigoted individuals look or sound sympathetic; so that, even if you didn't agree with their POV, you still felt for them. But I don't get that from how Natalia is being portrayed on this show. Even worse, if the objective is to make us root more for Blaze/Kristina, it's actually making me do the opposite, if only because I think Kristina would be better off without all that drama, lol. My chief concern about Heather's story is the same concern I have about many of GH's stories atm: IMO, there's no real sense of where the story is going. Yes, we have learned that Heather's more psychotic behavior has been the result of cobalt poisoning; and yes, Heather is being treated for her condition and is on the road to recovery*. So, what now? Where do Heather and we go from here? If this were Bill Bell/Kay Alden's Y&R, Heather likely would begin a journey of self-discovery; one that would take her back, literally and figuratively, to her childhood and the roots of her psychosis; with a startling revelation or several about her complicated relationships with her mother and absent father. Right now, though, all GH seems to be saying is, "Once, Heather got so crazy, she killed a bunch of people; then, somebody figured out that it was because of a bum hip replacement; but now, she's feeling better, she's really sorry for killing those people and she won't do it anymore, cross her heart and hope to die! The End!" What's next for Heather (and her new BFF, Mayor Laura)? Is she truly becoming a wiser, saner person? Has Laura found herself a kooky, new sidekick? Or will Heather revert to her former, evil ways, maybe come between Laura and Ace, or even Laura and Kevin? Or is she poised to do something far, far worse? Something that, when it's all over and done with, will make The Hook look like child's play? C'mon, GH! Show me where the road turns! (*Or so we hope, lol?) And all the mob stories, and all the supervillain stories that should have gone out with boy bands and Jenna Elfman-like haircuts. Ugh. GH has improved so much lately compared to when I last watched it regularly, but it is so frustrating knowing how risk-averse TPTB have become, at a time when they really have nothing to lose.
