I have previously stated that I thought GH usually picked reruns that have some characters or scenes that are connected to current episodes in some way, but I don't see the connection here.

That headline wording is identical to a soapcentral headline, which tells us what we already knew: that GH is definitely preempted Jan 7; unknown Jan 7 status for B&B and Y&R. I didn't know what "prorogue" meant so I looked it up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prorogation_in_Canada I don't quite understand, does this mean that everything is just on pause for a while?

I haven't been watching but I noticed this comment online elsewhere: They commented that on the January 3rd episode, it was simultaneously Christmas, the day after Christmas, and also some undefined date in January for Drew’s inauguration. I didn't watch but I'm curious because, is this sort of thing common? Or could this particular continuity confusion be related to the fact that the script editor Anne Schoettle hasn't appeared in the credits for a few days and is perhaps gone? (I mean, if nobody at GH is editing for continuity)

Wow, I totally remembered it wrong. I just looked it up and, you're right, of course. Fascinating that I remembered Anna&Robert's backstory as having aired first before Holly arrived, but that didn't happen onscreen live. How did I remember it so incorrectly? LOL. I guess I was such an Anna/Robert shipper that I must have remembered it as the first one to air. LOL.

I cannot get the search function to work there. I enter a name within the search on your page, and I get random results that have nothing to do with the person I'm searching. Or it gives an actor or character name that's similar to the first name or the surname but not the full name, even if I put the full name in quotes.

What? Maybe I'm wrong, but that's not what I remember at all. What I remember, watching live was Anna and Robert first. They were amazing when they first aired. Then Holly much later as a con artist finding Luke out in the middle of nowhere. Then much later on Robert marrying Holly to give her a green card, and they were written to develop feelings for one another. I always thought of Holly as the interloper. I was always Team Robert/Anna all the way. More random thoughts from me. I truly loathed the Anna/Duke pairing. It was ewww to me. Duke was a mobster and I hated the show writing Anna as always forgiving him. To use a Charmed metaphor, Anna should have vanquished Duke the way Phoebe finally vanquished Cole. Enough giving him another chance! This may be an unusual opinion, but I liked Holly/Luke together when Holly first appeared on GH. That was actually the only Luke pairing I ever liked. I didn't ship them a lot, but I did like them together. I remember being surprised to learn on twitter that there were Robert/Holly fans and that there were Anna/Duke fans. I just never liked either pairing and I had no idea they had followings until I saw this mentioned on twitter accounts. That showed me that my perceptions of shows are only my perceptions and not objective facts.

Yes I think it's likely that the networks will cover the National Cathedral funeral, but obviously not the private funeral later in Plains. If it's only the Cathedral ceremony itself, then it might not impact the soaps. However, I speculate that the networks might possibly? have coverage for several hours around the funerals, including the transport ceremonies as his body and his family are brought on and off aircraft, and the family staying at Blair House (the guest house next to the White House) etc. But I'm only speculating.

Ceremonies, public events, and funerals January 4-9, 2025 President Jimmy Carter funeral proceedings began today Saturday January 4th in Plains, Georgia, and then at the Carter Center in Atlanta. His body will be in repose in Atlanta for a few days, and the public is invited to pay their respects in Atlanta throughout this time. Then he will be brought to Washington DC. His body will lie in state at the U.S. Capitol Building for a few days. The public is invited to pay their respects at the Capitol Tuesday evening January 7 and specific hours Wednesday January 8. Funeral at the National Cathedral Thursday January 9. Then he will be brought back to Plains, Georgia, later the same day, for a private family funeral at the Plains church, and burial at home.
