Given the way the other soaps write for LGBTQIA+ characters and relationships, the Marcus character should be interesting to see how this show represents and writers for him. I hope the casting people are bringing their A game here - soaps need both talented AND charismatic actors to elevate the material. That’s incredibly important for a new soap.

It’s a testament to the fact Frank Valentini is only interested in gimmicks and not producing a show with any hint of integrity or sensibility. The FV era of GH is long overdue for a conclusion, but apparently, the show might be cancelled before that ever happens.

B&B was developed by Bell as a potential cash cow for his family that he wouldn’t have to split ownership and profits with another entity for. Y&R was where his heart always laid, but he knew having independent ownership of a long-running serial would be a better means of generational wealth for his family. That’s how I’ve always seen it - business driven more than creative driven. Not to say he didn’t care about the show, but I think his reasons for creating it were very different than his reasons for creating Y&R the decade before.

This show has never had any investment in TJ and Molly, and this surrogate storyline was never told from their POV. If the show did give them a miracle child, I am not sure there would be any investment in developing it outside of the background.

My heart goes out to all 3 of you. Anyway, this definitely seems abrupt and maybe FV is trying to use this as a scapegoat for the show’s ratings erosion this year to his bosses. Pathetic really, but I won’t sit here and pretend I ever cared for Blaze - if only her annoying mother could leave with her too!

And the reality is it was Kristina who convinced and borderline pressured Molly and TJ to be their surrogate. They were very apprehensive about letting Kristina be their surrogate, but she wouldn’t quit. Had that baby lived and Kristina kept it, it would have been an awful look to prey on a biologically barren couple and then snatch their only immediate hope of a child away from them.

Apparently, the Grant Morrison era costumes will be used in season 2. This came from today’s D23 animation panel and Beau confirmed on Twitter.

Possibly - MVJ and Jeresa follow each other on Instagram, so they seem at least friendly. Yes, they both worked at B&B, but there’s usually no reason for a scriptwriter and costume designer to interact unless they’ve build a relationship.

Kristina clearly also had some mental issues, knowing damn well she was contracted as a surrogate and then going around town calling that fetus “my baby” and pretending like this pregnancy wasn’t based on surrogacy at various points. I wonder if they’ll give her PPD, even with the baby dead.
