  1. I still wonder what Beau did that was so unforgivable that led to his firing. Some have claimed he violated a morality clause by having an OnlyFans at one point, while others have claimed he created a hostile work environment. Though he’s back on social media, he’s never commented. Marvel films tend to go through a number of rewrites or screenwriters for that matter. I think the important thing is they’re starting to develop the X-Men IP again now that they have full access to it. We can only hope they learned the right lessons from X-Men ‘97.
  2. I figured I’d start a thread about this given the recent discussions here on X-Men ‘97. Per Deadline, Michael Lesslie, who recently wrote the screenplay for Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes has been selected and is in negotiations to write the screenplay. No director or casting attached yet, but development could still take some time. ‘X-Men’ Movie At Marvel Studios Gains Momentum As Michael Lesslie Comes On As Screenwriter @NothinButAttitude @Vee @Taoboi
  3. Honestly, this is where you need an EP who can produce material with passion and intrigue to make this stilted material fly or halfway passable. But this is a FV production for you.
  4. Well, all I can say it didn’t come off that way to me and I am entitled to voice that. It felt like a passive aggressive attack on multiple people who are having a discussion on this chain. That is my experience and it’s no less valid than your’s or anyone else’s.
  5. You can support someone all you want, no one is stopping you. To suggest multiple people lack comprehension skills and need to read something several times is another issue entirely. At the end of the day, it’s fine for us all to agree to disagree without implying something else entirely.
  6. Maxim, this remake comes off very passive-aggressive and I don’t think there’s any need for that in this chain. Not sure if that is your intention, but it comes off that way. I see a spirited discourse here where everyone has a valid point, and I don’t think anyone has been personally attacked just yet.
  7. If I’m perfectly honest, I don’t buy any of BLQ’s relationships on the show (romantic or not) and have never really felt she’s fit in that well. That would be my first reason why I wouldn’t be troubled by a recast, not necessarily because of her uncomfortableness with doing love scenes. Chase, I’d kill off in a heartbeat with the rest of his useless family.
  8. At the end of the day, it’s FV allowing all this sh!t to take place and who I blame the most for fostering this garbage.
  9. This is a daytime soap opera, not a Christian music video after all.
  10. Agreed and BLQ is a totally replaceable role. The lack of love scenes is the least of why I think a dozen other actresses can play this role more effectively. But AS is a FOF (Friend of Frank’s), which means she’s entitled to a role unless ABC intervenes.
  11. Curious, why do you feel this way, John? What is it about her dialogue that makes you think she can be a great HW?
  12. I, personally, don’t care one way or another if AS is fired or remains for the record. I don’t particularly think she brings anything unique to the table and I think BLQ can be played by a dozen other actresses sufficiently. This has nothing to do with how she plays love scenes however.
  13. I don’t think it’s a fireable offense if the EP/network didn’t outline these expectations before contracting these actors. It’s on the EP for catering a role to an actor’s preference and the limitations that entails. But if the expectations were outlined to the actors and there is no specific clause in their contract against it, then yes, I do consider it a fireable offense to not play what’s written - at the end of the day, it’s network TV, not porn. I don’t think the characters should have to mirror the actors personal beliefs if it’s not consistent with who those characters are, but I don’t excuse the EP/network from this if this is a limitation they’ve gotten the show into and now have to work around.
  14. I am knocking Valentini for allowing this crap to happen in the first place. It’s show business, not show friends. Don’t let your actors dictate how these characters should be played if it’s not consistent with who those character are.
  15. I really wish these shows wouldn’t cave into actor preferences if it does a disservice to the actual characters they’re supposed to play. They’re actors - love scenes are very technical and you’re not cheating on your real life spouse. Also, while AS is an observant Jew, BLQ is not. Perhaps if you’re an actor, it doesn’t serve you well to portray characters that go against your personal belief system - unless, of course, you can better separate these two aspects of your life and realize that one is just a job and has no bearing on your personal beliefs.
  16. I find the music selection on GH horrible, personally. Beyond generic doesn’t even begin to explain it.
  17. I’m not sure why Gregory needed this montage, as if he had been a vital part of this show for decades. I honestly couldn’t care any less if this character is dead.
  18. What spiral though post-Nixon Falls though? Sonny was healthy once he got his memory back, but chose to remain with Nina because MB wanted to work more with CW and no other reason.
  19. The awful thing about this Sonny story? It’s all going to be blamed on his meds being tampered in the end, never mind the fact this who he really is, and Sonny will go on as he always has. Mark my words, both Anna and Laura will be kissing his ass again by September.
  20. Kristina does know Alexis tried to hide Sonny was her father precisely because he’s a violent mobster, right? Catching Sonny in the act is this much of a shock to her system?
  21. I don’t think I can sit through Michael Easton and his bland acting ass doing an alcoholism story…
  22. Violet is a prime example why kids need to be seen and not heard on these shows…
  23. Oh, gosh, more shockingly poor acting from MB today. I guess we shouldn’t be so surprised at this point, but damn, he’s so bad, lol
  24. And, strangely, despite being the Mayor of PC, Laura couldn’t possibly feel more irrelevant on this show’s canvas. It’s clearly a writing issue that no one cares to address.
  25. Events like a wedding (less so about the couple at this point as we’re getting introduced to them, but more so to get the canvas together at once) are usually a good starting point to get various characters together and understand character dynamics, and potentially tease stories that are to come.
