  1. Frank's pets - telling that he never made any public announcement when PM joined (or was fired), but is quick to acknowledge this new change as soon as its credited.
  2. This is the new HW-ing team, folks, as we all expected, lol
  3. Hopefully they have the option to shop this to other streamers/networks if Netflix passes.
  4. Hunter has a problematic history behind the scenes (holding up production, being late, etc.). Honestly, it's a wonder Brad kept her as long as he did, but I think he finally gave up on her at some point, and I think the feeling is mutual now.
  5. I don't even think they needed any ties to the original cast to do this reboot (and chronologically, wouldn't Dwyane and Whitney's daughter be like 30 now, lol, unless they say it's another/younger daughter). I would have just had Dwyane and maybe Kim or Freddie pop up as occasional professors. But nonetheless, great news and I hope it gets ordered by Netflix. It's long overdue for this concept to get the reboot treatment.
  6. Frank Valentini should be fired.
  7. Someone in wardrobe definitely hated Genie in the 90’s. Her weight issues also gave them an excuse to dress her beyond matronly.
  8. Miss Piggy for NuLulu on GH!
  9. This show is ridiculous and Brad Bell continues to be out of touch with reality.
  10. I have never liked or enjoyed Emmy Rylan's acting in any role, like ever. Also agree on Stephanie Gatschet being of the blandest daytime actresses ever in the 00's. I think I randomly stumbled on her Instagram a few months back - seems like she's in the health & wellness space now and doesn't act anymore.
  11. I wonder if Betty’s background as a singer will be utilized and if they expect her to bust a tune from time to time. They had to have given that character a singing background for a reason, I guess? If so, it’s probably best to cast a theatrically trained actress for a part like that, but then again, plenty of singers based in Atlanta as well.
  12. How about casting people do their jobs and find actors suitable for the role vs. any random blonde that once had a daytime role?
  13. I suspect for the older/veteran actors based in LA or NYC, doing a grueling daytime show produced in Atlanta might not be in the cards. It will definitely be interesting to see if they do land any “big” veteran performers.
  14. Ava should be paraded around as the town monarch for helping to end Kristina’s pregnancy once and for all.
  15. IMO, it says a lot that Sheila went to MVJ and not Jamey Giddens to help create the network’s first soap opera with a predominantly black cast. I think we’re lucky things worked out this way…
  16. Thank goodness this unnecessary baby is dead.
  17. Whoever is writing this mess has succeeded in making me hate Anna and want to hurl every time she’s on.
  18. Ah, yes, totally forgot MVJ wrote for Debbi on Generations and obviously JHC was the AMC EP when Debbi returned there. I’ve said it before, but Debbi has more than earned the right to be a soap opera matriarch at this stage of her career and this is a good legacy piece as @ReddFoxx said. She could be to this show what Susan Flannery was to B&B when leveraged at her best.
  19. I would be pleasantly surprised if VR ever gets a regular network gig again. It’s been almost 20 years since her Y&R exit and she hasn’t landed a regular network gig since. Obviously, I’d love to her see on a regular basis again, but I don’t think she’s at the top of anyone’s list right now unfortunately. I think Vivica gets a mention because she’s close personal friends with MVJ, and obviously someone like Debbi Morgan and her reputation speaks for itself. Who knows though - they could very well cast a bunch of unknowns in the leading roles. The Soaphub article did say a focus was on local talent based in Atlanta - and ATL isn’t called the “black Hollywood” for nothing.
  20. With Deadpool & Wolverine giving Like A Prayer a bit of a resurgence, I was reminded of the amazing photos the late/great Herb Ritts took for that album. He was Madonna’s best photographer IMO and no one captured her essence better. The True Blue album cover alone is almost the most definitive Madonna picture that ever existed. Anyway, the Like A Prayer album photos are the best of BrunetteDonna. There’s a beautiful earthy quality to them that matches the stark and often brutal honesty of the overall album itself - her best overall album IMO. Some of my favourites and lifted from THIS great blog post.
  21. Some soap opera writer’s assistants spend years in that role, lol, without getting a proper promotion. It seems from that soaphub article that MVJ may have most of her writing team already in place, and a good amount of material already written. The article mentioned another multi-Emmy award winning writer (who we all assume is Patrick Mulcahey) is also on staff. I am assuming the rest of the team may be made up of lesser known/fresh talent. This Skyy person is only getting mentioned because MVJ Tweeted to her.
  22. She’s the writer’s assistant - she’s not actually doing any writing or crafting long term story.
