  1. https://www.instagram.com/p/DAHMXLqT4jz/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Hmm, MVJ's IG post has TT labeled as "Rosalind" and DD labeled as "Crystal" - I wonder if those character names changed again, lol. "Dani" for KM is at least consistent with today's reports.
  2. MVJ is a master at writing monologues (like Luke’s confession to Lucky about raping Laura, which Geary gave her a special shout out for when he won the Emmy that year and didn’t do his typical ad-libbing with by most accounts). Assuming she can write some select scripts (in addition to her other responsibilities), I really look forward to hopefully seeing her give TT some killer monologues to act out.
  3. Again, having a theatrically trained and veteran actress like TT is such a huge boon to this new show. She’s at the top of the cast list and sets the tone. I wonder if VR or DM for that matter were ever really in any consideration, but I think they made the right decision here. TT can sing and has a working class upbringing that really gels with the character description for Betty/Anita. To me, this is perfect casting.
  4. Ah, so I guess Kim Taylor Coleman is the casting director, at least for the original/launch cast.
  5. Tamara Tunie letting people know on her Facebook that she will continue doing other projects as well. Do not box this woman in!

  7. MVJ and PM were both unhappy (but didn't publicly say it in a strong way because they both actually like Brad Bell) with the way the Avant story ended on B&B. I have to think this partly impacted Mosley getting a role on MVJ's debut creation.
  8. Several press articles/op-ed pieces have been written this week to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of ER's premiere (today is the actual 30th anniversary). ER’s 30th Anniversary: How George Clooney and Julianna Margulies Honor Doug and Carol Three Decades Later How ‘ER’ helped me confront death: A reflection on the medical drama’s 30th anniversary
  9. MVJ is an active member in the WGA and “friends” with many writers she hasn’t worked directly with.
  10. Did we always know Anita/Betty was from Chicago? THR’s article gives that tidbit - MVJ is from Chicago herself, so I am assuming that Anita is at least partially based on one or more of her relatives. Also a nice midwestern homage to the midwestern setting of the classic P&G soaps.
  11. Since Anita is a singer, here’s some of Tamara Tunie in singing action and talking about a cabaret show she did a few years back. She’s also theatrically trained, which I always thought made sense for this role.
  12. and Joseph’s new wife is Elizabeth, who many of us were excited about and she seemed to be in the early Brooke Logan/Jill Foster vein. I’d say that character would be a good contrast to Dani and Anita, both probably dislike her and have an adversarial relationship with her.
  13. Hollywood insider, Jeff Sneider, says NAC is “electric” and gives a “star-making” performance in MONSTERS:
  14. Anna Saalfeld, fyi, is another P&G executive. So P&G has 2 executives that are credited as EP’s on this show. Interesting…
  15. OMG, amazing and totally unexpected to see Tunie back in Daytime honestly!
  16. Angela did also say she was tired by the 12th season and it was definitely time to go. Just wish it was on better terms with CBS. And shout out to 60 Minutes too, lol. The 60 Minutes and MSW Sunday night combo is what kept CBS alive for a decade.
  17. Electra Forrester sounds like a porn name.
  18. RPW was a typical Frank Valentini type - looked good in black underwear, but vanilla and bland as hell.
  19. I guess they could rewrite the ending and make Sam’s “death” ambiguous to leave the door open. But if they do that, they might as well hire LH permanently in the role as it’s clear there’s an issue with KM.
  20. I have a hard time seeing any network or streamer greenlighting a show like MP with a cast of 50+ women. I feel like a lot of this is wishful thinking on the part of the ladies, as the industry press hasn't reported on any development or creatives attached to the project or pitch.
  21. Sorry, but not a fan of MEK's cringe performance in this role. Time for a new recurring lawyer character if this is what we're left with.
  22. I called this out before and this is exactly what happened with Tracy. They’ve reverted back to the same lazy writing for her as before. It’s clear PM saw her as someone much more layered than what this team sees her as. I hate it and Jane Elliott deserves better for being one of the saving graces on this show. It’s so damn insulting to the audience that Tracy gets portrayed as being wrong and crazy for saying the truth about people like Sonny, Jason, and Carly.
  23. Anything redeeming about Babe was because of AH, but god, that character and her mother were such a cancer to AMC in its waning and final decade on the air. McTavish really went overboard in her last stint to prop those characters and make them happen to the detriment of that entire show.
