  1. This is a daytime soap opera, not a Christian music video after all.
  2. Agreed and BLQ is a totally replaceable role. The lack of love scenes is the least of why I think a dozen other actresses can play this role more effectively. But AS is a FOF (Friend of Frank’s), which means she’s entitled to a role unless ABC intervenes.
  3. Curious, why do you feel this way, John? What is it about her dialogue that makes you think she can be a great HW?
  4. I, personally, don’t care one way or another if AS is fired or remains for the record. I don’t particularly think she brings anything unique to the table and I think BLQ can be played by a dozen other actresses sufficiently. This has nothing to do with how she plays love scenes however.
  5. I don’t think it’s a fireable offense if the EP/network didn’t outline these expectations before contracting these actors. It’s on the EP for catering a role to an actor’s preference and the limitations that entails. But if the expectations were outlined to the actors and there is no specific clause in their contract against it, then yes, I do consider it a fireable offense to not play what’s written - at the end of the day, it’s network TV, not porn. I don’t think the characters should have to mirror the actors personal beliefs if it’s not consistent with who those characters are, but I don’t excuse the EP/network from this if this is a limitation they’ve gotten the show into and now have to work around.
  6. I am knocking Valentini for allowing this crap to happen in the first place. It’s show business, not show friends. Don’t let your actors dictate how these characters should be played if it’s not consistent with who those character are.
  7. I really wish these shows wouldn’t cave into actor preferences if it does a disservice to the actual characters they’re supposed to play. They’re actors - love scenes are very technical and you’re not cheating on your real life spouse. Also, while AS is an observant Jew, BLQ is not. Perhaps if you’re an actor, it doesn’t serve you well to portray characters that go against your personal belief system - unless, of course, you can better separate these two aspects of your life and realize that one is just a job and has no bearing on your personal beliefs.
  8. I find the music selection on GH horrible, personally. Beyond generic doesn’t even begin to explain it.
  9. I’m not sure why Gregory needed this montage, as if he had been a vital part of this show for decades. I honestly couldn’t care any less if this character is dead.
  10. What spiral though post-Nixon Falls though? Sonny was healthy once he got his memory back, but chose to remain with Nina because MB wanted to work more with CW and no other reason.
  11. The awful thing about this Sonny story? It’s all going to be blamed on his meds being tampered in the end, never mind the fact this who he really is, and Sonny will go on as he always has. Mark my words, both Anna and Laura will be kissing his ass again by September.
  12. Kristina does know Alexis tried to hide Sonny was her father precisely because he’s a violent mobster, right? Catching Sonny in the act is this much of a shock to her system?
  13. I don’t think I can sit through Michael Easton and his bland acting ass doing an alcoholism story…
  14. Violet is a prime example why kids need to be seen and not heard on these shows…
  15. Oh, gosh, more shockingly poor acting from MB today. I guess we shouldn’t be so surprised at this point, but damn, he’s so bad, lol
  16. And, strangely, despite being the Mayor of PC, Laura couldn’t possibly feel more irrelevant on this show’s canvas. It’s clearly a writing issue that no one cares to address.
  17. Events like a wedding (less so about the couple at this point as we’re getting introduced to them, but more so to get the canvas together at once) are usually a good starting point to get various characters together and understand character dynamics, and potentially tease stories that are to come.
  18. I know Bill Bell said something about him and/or Irna regretting that AW's first episode was a funeral, lol.
  19. Kim Zimmer Shares Her Battle With Breast Cancer
  20. That was a horrible cliffhanger today. Are we still supposed to believe that Sonny can beat up a man half his age? Maurice’s acting was so bad.
  21. Agreed - also, at least he had great taste in Scriptwriters who could ground that sh!t and make it work somehow on a day to day level. If DAYS can still limp along with a budget of belly button fuzz and couch pennies, then anyone can EP GH and bring it in under budget.
  22. Back when Wendy Richie and Guza had their power struggles, I blamed Wendy and thought she was burnt out. But I was wrong once we got to see Guza’s true intentions at play in subsequent years. It’s too bad FV has gone unchecked for so long and continues to have a job when the show has failed with multiple HW’s under his watch at this point.
  23. Wendy is 81 and needs to enjoy her life, so I agree. That said, GH needs people like Wendy Riche and Shelley Curtis again to come in and clean this sh!t up like they had to do in 1992-1993 when the show crumbled after Monty's second stint. They need people like that to help rebuild and refocus the foundation. That said, I'm a realist, and I know no one gives a f.uck for that type of change to happen in the modern era.
  24. GH has failed with 5-6 Head Writer changes since Frank Valentini has been Executive Producer. Tell me how that makes sense that he’s still there and bullet proof for this show’s bad ratings? I need more than he keeps the show on budget. GH will never evolve as long as he’s there and not held accountable for the failures that have happened during his 12+ years as Executive Producer.
  25. Everyone knows PM is/was a superb dialogue writer. But, his HW experiences at both GL and GH were never set up for success as far as I can tell with both shows being a messy situation behind the scenes during his HW-ing stints. I don’t think he ever really got a fair shot as both instances were messy and he didn’t have producers that supported him or whose vision gelled with his. Did anyone think Chris and Dan moved the needle at all on this show? Does anyone except Korte to turn this show around? I don’t. PM being fired doesn’t mean GH is in for some type of renaissance, especially with people like both Valentini and Korte who’ve already been there for years and likely to just keep the status quo going. A lot of GH’s issues started before his stint and will continue after. I agree that the show lacks energy and momentum, but is that all down to PM? When there are internal conflicts, little gets done. If Korte wants to be a yes woman to Valentini and Varni, I don’t see how that would be beneficial for the show either.
