  1. The people who now surmise that Johnson must've deteriorated fast could not have seen what he looked like the last time he was on camera. He'd still had a fever after 10 days, which is not, under any circumstances a good sign. Also, with his build, he was likely to have underlying health issues.
  2. Yes, I enjoyed both too. Shannon still looks great!
  3. OMG. The letter that Tommy Lee published on his social media (Open Letter to Trump).😵 Originally it was published by someone else but Lee amplified it by putting it on his social media. That caused some confusion.
  4. I instinctively bypass journalists who cannot spell infrastructure properly.
  5. Although I haven't watch The Hallmark Channel in years, from what I remember, Hallmark Channel only seems to care about their own original programming. They chopped up Golden Girls with harsh edits for ads worse than Lifetime ever did.
  6. Depending on my mood, I might read a newspaper article online that covers his remarks but I've long stopped listening to him, as I can't stand the sound of his voice and am disgusted by his overall demeanor.
  7. It's definitely crossed my mind on more than one occasion, as it concerns the men in my family. At least the ones who live here in the U.S. This is not a concern for my family that live in the Caribbean. There's a podcast that Jonathan Capeheart did with Susan Rice (I'll admit that I have yet to listen to it) where Rice is saying that the Obama administration and she personally helped to compile, a 60 page document on what to do in case of a pandemic (she describes it as a kind of "For Dummies" guide) for the incoming Trump administration. Without question that guide was tossed to the side.
  8. This data is from Australia, by the way. So far, the U.S. refuses to publish data in terms of race and socio-economic status.
  9. The NAACP hosting a virtual town hall summit with the current surgeon general is a two-edged sword, with Jerome Adams' history. Next time (should there be a next time), the NAACP may want to find another scientist/doctor who has not presided over one of the worst health crises a state has experienced in the past several decades. Many Black men are beginning to express their ambivalence about wearing masks in countries like the U.S. where police shoot unarmed blacks at an alarming rate.
  10. When I first started hearing/reading about this, I thought (hoped) it was a few people spreading false accounts and determined that I should refrain from posting this anywhere but this account tends to have more legitimacy than any of the other accounts I've seen. I still hope this is somehow untrue because this is truly despicable. Knowing France's colonial history (as well as England, Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands) it would not surprise me at all, if true.
  11. Good points! When we think about how many various episodes and storylines they all did, thousands of pages of dialogue to remember, some things are going to have more space in the memory bank. That's life.
  12. Well yeah, the article mentions this. North Korea is a highly repressive society, which can both be about not reporting cases but also, placing an order that no one is allowed to leave their residences unless given permission. If the "Dear Leader" hands down a mandate, it is not made an option whether to comply. Many of the South Pacific island had a virulent bout with measles just last year, so the idea of social distancing to prevent the spread of contagious diseases is likely still fresh in their minds. Lesotho is an emerging country that has a decent literacy rate (85% for women). Perhaps because they have had to deal with crises with tuberculosis and there are likely still people who remember the ravages of other diseases (including HIV/AIDS), they may also have taken COVID-19 seriously.
  13. These countries have no reported cases of COVID-19. As you can probably tell, these countries tend to be rather isolated, either because of war and violence or geographic location. https://www.aol.com/article/news/2020/04/03/18-countries-have-no-reported-coronavirus-cases/23969425/
  14. I'm not sure how anyone takes away anything other than joy at seeing Don Hastings. He looked great and his memory and demeanor seemed adequate for someone who is rarely invited to speak about his time on ATWT since the show ended. The confusion over Scott Holmes, well guess what? The show had many Scotts! I laughed out loud when Maura West immediately mentioned Scott Holroyd, when she is married to Scott DeFreitas. Other people in the chat started mentioning Scott Bryce. Ultimately, it was Scott Holmes that was being referred to. No offense but the show ended a decade ago this year and perhaps Hastings and Holmes haven't been in touch since then. Maybe Holmes wasn't his favorite Tom (shrugs), there have only been about at least a half dozen Toms over that show's history. I enjoyed watching more than I thought I would. Hopefully a few more of these can be done with the ATWT cast, maybe even reach back further in the show's history and surprise us with more golden age alums. P&G missed several boats. Those who frequent this thread over the years likely know where I stand on this. It's so odd how P&G gave a glimpse of the future twice (via a streaming portal on AOL, then via a online streaming platform via the SoapClassics company), only to leave their treasure buried, subject to degradation and deterioration over time.
  15. Paper applications for unemployment benefits? Florida is an entire mess. These are some of the same folks who wanted rake the Obama administration over the coals for the early missteps with the ACA website but it's far worse to construct a system that intentionally causes endless frustration to applicants.
  16. People talk about COVIDIOTS but she is particularly dangerous because she's a COVIDIOT with power.
  17. The intransigence of the governor of Iowa is going to cost lives.
  18. Friday is April 4th. It happens.
  19. Did Martha say that Debbi Gibson wrote "Lost In Your Eyes" about Brian Bloom?! Or was she joking? Don Hastings is so entertaining. I want to hear more of his stories.
