  1. Slick, sorry if I overlooked it but I didn't see James Broderick on your list for The Doctors. I found this from July 7, 1966.
  2. I'm not sure but she was the real-life mother of Gaye Huston, who was the first Lee Randolph (I think). ETA: From July 1966.
  3. Ad from July 28, 1974, newspaper.
  4. From a June 1967 newsclipping. L to R: Joe Gallison; Bud Kloss (Associate Producer); Beverly Penberthy; Geoffrey Lumb; Val Dufour; Marcella Martin; Michael Ryan; and Carol Roux.
  5. Based on the radio actors I'm familiar with I don't think that happened either. However, Irna was still promoting that idea---from July 1938.
  6. I do vaguely remember Carol Roux. Missy and Bill were a very popular couple. I had a co-worker who was named Melissa after Carol's character. This article is also from May 1965.
  7. I know! It was on in the afternoon most places. I remember watching it after school before "Where the Action Is," came on.
  8. I was watching then so I do remember her! The details of the story are a bit fuzzy though.
  9. Elizabeth Harrower was also once a Days headwriter.
  10. FYI, Bill Hayes will be 90 years old on Friday (June 5). From the early 70s.
  11. Monika, thanks for sharing the notes from Beverly. She was another favorite from my younger days. I was really spoiled by the soap actresses/actors I watched when I was growing up.
  12. Thanks for sharing the photos! I'll never forget that storyline concerning the Bachmann's and Dave's death.
  13. Keep a close watch of the extras/bit players in the episodes that aired today at noon. There are two future soap stars appearing, one in each episode (one is quickly recognizable).
  14. I believe Linda Grover was the writer. At least she was as of this July 1978 article. The anniversary was April 1 so I don't know if the celebration was delayed or there was just a lag time in writing about it.
  15. They didn't specifically say anything about future episodes on Retro TV but I did let them know I was enjoying the show on Retro. I had sent an e-mail to Retro last week but received a canned response that others have also received.
  16. I sent a message to SFM Entertainment, which is the distributor for "The Doctors,' telling them I was enjoying the show and asking about possible DVD release, including the episodes that we haven't seen. The response was very positive (I had mentioned that fans had been in contact with various cast members via social media so that's why he asked me for contact information). Jane: Thank you for your most articulate and complimentary note. We are so pleased that you are enjoying "THE DOCTORS", as it took a great deal of time, efforts and persistence to return this iconic series to television. The outpouring of favorable audience reaction has been remarkable. You help to make all our efforts worthwhile. I have shared it with the people at RetroTV, who, also, saw the merits of returning this iconic series to today's television audience. Yes, there are plans to issue these shows on DVD and, once that is put in place, we would plan on adding some of the materials you refer to in your note. That will include earlier episodes and interviews, provided we can locate the 'still living' talent. If you have some contact information from various cast members, please forward to me here at SFM. Stay tuned! All the best. Stanley Moger President SFM Entertainment LLC
  17. I don't dislike Nancy but I think she and Mike are a huge mismatch. Nancy Donohue reminds me of a young Diana Muldaur.
