  1. Per IMDB she's only been on twice this year - once in February and once in March.
  2. OLTL: Making Todd Victor Lord's son Bringing Todd back after his 1995 "death." Viki killing Victor under DID, which in the long run meant they had to keep coming up with more and more contrived reasons for a Viki/Dorian feud and which did not actually do anything to enhance Viki's character; instead, within the next year she had one of her worst storylines (which Erika panned to the press).
  3. Sorry to hear about Jim Shooter. I know many did not care for his work or what he did to Marvel, but he made so many changes that helped push them to some of their peak commercially (if not always in quality - still, '80s Marvel is much better than what has come since that time). I saw that he was apparently having financial difficulties, and some felt like Marvel didn't do enough for him. It's sobering just how many comic book creators, no matter how much success they may have brought, end up this way.
  4. Thanks @Maxim I love how they keep finding ways for Renee to have more dramatic moments. That was done with some restraint too, which helped.
  5. This is an interesting scene to sit through, because on one level I don't quite believe it, but I also appreciate the effort made to not just have women hurling abuse at each other, no matter how much honey Beverlee could put on her venom. This is the type of nuance which was missing in her last few years as Alex. I also appreciated this, which gives us a glimpse of businesswoman Vanessa, which I always wanted to see more of in later years (NOT sitting at the office looking at plastic surgery brochures).
  6. Guiding Light Mindy--- You Not My Daughter - YouTube I have complained, repeatedly, about that embarrassing scene with Geoffrey Scott's Billy storming over the table, but this clip with Billy and Roger is one of the reasons why. The scene is burned into my brain. Roger was tough, fed-trained, wiry, but Billy was just raw anger - an unstoppable tank. I'm sorry at how they never even mentioned Hamp passing or had Billy remember him later on.
  7. Glad to hear that. As I think you've said before, they have done well by OLTL, overall, in the GH mentions/appearances.
  8. I wonder how Tonja felt about Alex's '97 exit... I do remember her being a character. I remember some of those Susan stories now. Frank may be nice to you (if you're on his good side) but Marty was done so dirty. I'm half surprised he didn't kill her off.
  9. Thanks for catching her. I just noticed Mike. So glad they finally brought Marie back after years away, while they still can. I suppose Mike has aged out of having major material on the show now but he and Jeremy should both be viable characters. One thing the preview reminds me of is they have too similar of "types" with Philip, Alex, EJ, Xander. I would cut one (first Alex, who is worthless beyond an overexposed body).
  10. They are probably waiting for Parsons to come back and relieve them.
  11. I think if she had been going around calling Lucas a groomer, people would have been up in arms (well, some people), but going into it with a not that popular Kristina recast and day player Blaze, I don't know. I think the show could have moved on. They did try. They just didn't know how or didn't really care. I think as you or someone else said, there were likely writers who just did not like the character, and didn't have the friendship with Eva that Frank has.
  12. I don't think Eva has ever been a very likeable screen presence (Maria was at her best when they allowed her to be harder - I'm one of the few who preferred her spotty second run for that reason). They could have run with that. I think the homophobia even could have gotten a pass from a lot of viewers - it's not like we're watching with tiktok users (the ones who aren't burning Pride flags, anyway). It was more the clear dithering with the character and the DOA material with Sonny that finished her.
  13. Carnes is a better player for stronger stories, but as they are never going to give Lucas those, Hansis probably is OK. Carnes also reminds me a little more of other actors already on the show (especially Rory Gibson), while Hansis is more in his own lane. When he was on ATWT I always thought he was kind of pissy, and a pill. He seems warmer now, somewhat, which helps a lot in scenes with characters like Carly or Liz.
  14. I think I avoided most at the time because I have a love/hate relationship with those types of books (more often hate) but thanks for the time you took. Princi also has some support in Youtube comments, but there's no doubt Robin is the Dorian many are more likely to remember. I think it's easier to have a different opinion when you go back because she had some very strong material, character-defining material, in her run, and then she left, whereas, aside from 94-95, Robin had a very rough road for most of her second (and third) runs.
  15. I'm sure I'm missing a lot, but that, and having Emily Haynes lie Sloan sexually harassed her, and the final break of her relationship with Jason. There was also unintentionally causing Cassie to lose her baby, which I thought was a very crass story choice. Clearly, they wanted viewers to hate Dorian enough to where they were fine with Viki and Sloan wanting Dorian to be locked up for life, but it was overkill. And Robin also seemed unsure of how to play the material. @chrisml Thanks for the fragments. I thought Marcia had blasted Erika in the book, which would have made me laugh (and not shocked me as she seems like a bit of a handful).
  16. Gottlieb only had herself to blame as she was the one who was probably responsible for Elaine's Dorian getting a stronger response from fans. And yes, Robin's return story was not good. I would say it took well over a year for the show to figure out what to do with Robin's Dorian. Thanks for the quotes from Gottlieb and Tonja Walker. Tonja had a presence and certainly had some fans on GH but I do question how 'ballistic' viewers went over her being written out. But who knows. Gottlieb's quote about prison confuses me as DuAnn didn't go to prison - she died. I didn't remember LeeAnn "LuAnn" in prison either. Those bondage scenes with Carlo and Alex were scorching at the time and there's no way they'd ever get on now. I can definitely see Tonja being very passionate in arguing for her character. Those first few years with Alex were mostly good. Up to somewhere in 1995.
  17. Malone never really seemed to want to write Tina as caring about her kids. Years later he has her abandon them, offcamera. One could say that when the Tina he first inherited wasn't true to herself, wasn't reckless or selfish enough, but the difference between the Tina of the '80s and Malone's Tina is he defined her by men. And that never changes.
  18. You're right. That really is jarring. Reminds me of bad UK dubs of US ads.
  19. Monti was excellent on GL but something changed after that - he felt slimy and lacking in depth on ATWT and GH.
  20. I would guess it will be about two weeks after Trina leaves.
  21. Watching that clip I'm reminded of why I thought Jeff Philips was effective as Hart. Hart worked best as the innocent contrast to Roger, inevitably crushed by the reality of his father. Nothing after that really works. I kind of wish they'd killed him off when they wrote him out in 1992.
  22. They would have been in all kinds of land mines with Spencer at present - writing out Trina and then exposing Joss or Emma to a lot of fan anger, dealing with how dead most of Spencer's connections on the canvas are, likely bringing back Esme, etc. for someone who will probably only stay for a year or two. I imagine we will see Spencer again but they have a lot of work to do to make it a success. I do hope they consider the idea of expanding the Wards. There's so much potential in what you've laid out.
  23. Thanks @Maxim I'm glad they didn't have the wool pulled over Viki's eyes, although Blair already being out of friends so quickly in her run makes me wonder what they would have done with the character if Mia had stayed longer. Karen Witter and Chris Cousins have very good chemistry, but I don't think Malone ever understood Tina.
  24. I think the story with Abby is that her schemes are ultimately meaningless for her well-being. She's always going to want more and never be happy. There's never really a reset button with her the way they did with JR and Alexis, as her decisions have terrible long term-consequences for her and her kids. Another issue is that at this time they were likely using her to set up plots for other characters, leading to writing choices that Donna would push back on within the next season.
  25. I didn't mind Hans at the time (maybe because the actor was entertaining and at least something was happening), but the tedium of Mike/Rosanna (just Rosanna in general) and Shannon's terrible return from the dead story, along with Holden dumping his kid off on Emma day after day to find new women and chase after Lily, all soured me. Shannon's story may low-key be one of the worst in ATWT history - they brought her back and left everyone miserable and broken. Why? I did enjoy the arrival of Pete, Orlena, Dawn's death (I didn't "enjoy" that, but you know what I mean) and of course Janice. So there were moments. Just not enough to make up for the sludge. It's hard for me to see Marland staying past about 1995, when P&G started doing more swaps and panicking, but we'll never know. The sad part is I do think ATWT had improved at that time, but it was too late. And that's where Marland's steady hand had been missed - so much of 1993 and 1994 encouraged viewers to leave and not feel they were missing anything. I also think the Linc story was just strange - there was no investment with a brand new actor and I struggled to accept him becoming so vile within a few years. I assume those were Marland's story plans but I do wonder how he would have written it.
