  1. Kay Campbell looks so adorable in those kitchen pictures! I can't help but get sad every time I see her though because all I can think about is her tragic, tragic death Speaking of sadness, one of our old posters made this video years ago for the 35th anniversary, and even though the pictures aren't terribly clear, it still just tears me up! It's the picture of Nina and Palmer playing croquet that gets to me the most, and I don't know why.
  2. Every time I try to watch, all I see is Moons, and I really couldn't care less. They're not hot enough to make me watch anyway, either. This show really is in danger of falling apart, character-wise, isn't it? It feels like if a few certain people decide to leave within a year, it'll be a mess.
  3. Yeah, I can't imagine anyone going through all that trouble in the name of dismissing the show. It's awesome.
  4. You can see the sadness on so many of their faces Part of me wishes the show would have just ended at the 40th anniversary. Re: Mark. I read something long ago, don't even remember where, about his wife disappearing at some point. Does anyone know at all what that's about?
  5. AHHHH. Mark...Mark Mark Mark...take me now. That's my soulmate, yall. That man. Right there. And look at my sexy Kane siblings gettin' down!
  6. Yeah, that's Jack Stauffer. He's the Chuck who was with Erica at the diner in the "I want to be special, and I'm going to be!" scene. That little article must be from somewhere in 1972 because Chuck #2 took over some time in that year, and that's also when all of the Margo/Jason stuff with Erica started. Most of what I've read says that Nancy didn't show up until '73, but I guess she was there a little earlier than that. Leave Tara alone! She's working that paisley/polka-dot monstrosity.
  7. Daaaaaaaamn. Young, early 70s Erica, Tara, and Phil were gorgeous, and poor Chuck was a goober.
  8. Such beauty I thought ol' Helmut was always a restauranteur.
  9. Last few minutes of Christmas 1981. How long was Ellen's father Harlan on the show? I assume he was always a recurring character. He's a guest at Erica and Tom's wedding, where it looks like the show might have thought about pairing him with Myrtle. Also, I never knew Audrey Peters was on AMC! I wonder if she and Tudi ever shared a scene since this was just a year after Love of Life ended.
  10. I'm so upset that we'll never get another Christmas episode, even though most of the very recent Xmas extravaganzas have left much to be desired. I just mentioned this in the Lucci marathon thread, but as polarizing as the baby switch (and all of 2004) was, I remember everyone posting here at the time being touched by the spirit thanks to this montage:
  11. I'm not even gonna lie. I would have knocked JM's junk around in the 40s and 50s. Joanna Yaeger!! I love all the Chandler mansion stuff from that time period. Only AMC will have an actor named Peter Phillips playing a character named Philip Peters.
  12. As far as Erica in New York...she was definitely living in the Chandler mansion by the fall of 1984, when Adam faked his death to see how she'd react but then was kidnapped by Billy Clyde. She probably still had her New York apartment, but IDK when/if she ever went back to living there full time. Oddly enough, I watched an episode today where she and Mark threw a party at the NY apartment, and none of the guests were from Pine Valley. I'll bet you a hundred bucks they really mulled over whether or not they could spin Erica off into her own show then. So glad they didn't.
  13. I'm very excited to delve into some of those. I've never really watched a lot of late 80s/early 90s Corrie, so I'm thankful to the poser of those vids! Carl, I'm sure you'll get a kick out of this, but with the news of Katherine Kelly Lang's son doing gay porn making random websites, I thought it was hilarious that one site, obviously totally unaware of who KKL really is, posted a picture of Katherine Kelly with a little inset of KKL's son: I don't know why, but that's so funny to me
  14. I ended up never watching season 2, but I'm committed to jumping back in now. I have this bad habit of never sticking with shows even when I enjoy them...ugh. Hopefully that changes this season. I wasn't feeling Damon last night either, and I usually love him. I just get tired of being hit over the head with all the "poor Damon, look at how lonely he is!" stuff. I thought they'd have been through with that after two seasons, but I guess not. My mind was stuck more on poor Alaric...he's not leaving town, is he? The show needs him, IMO. GOD YES. Totally agreed on all counts. I did watch some here and there stuff last season, and I wasn't TOO sold on Tyler/Caroline but jeez, they went and did the damn thing last night! Caroline is probably my favorite character when she just lets it all go and doesn't give a sh!t. That vampire/werewolf sex was HOT. I really really wanted highMatt to make a move on him in the "stoner den" and then drunkMatt to make a move on him in the car. Steven R gets better every season, lookswise as well as acting. So yeah, looks like I'm back for the time being. Can't wait to see what happens this season, but I have so many questions about season 2 happenings.
  15. Those must be from the 90s DVD sets that came out last week! I'll be sure to check them out before they disappear, though it seems classic Corrie's been sticking around a lot longer on YouTube than it used to. I think all of the DVD episodes from the 60s and 70s are still up there.
  16. I don't think EH ever cared who she was working alongside, though. She was always "on" in every scene with every scene partner, and that's what made her awesome.
  17. Our lovely Eileen I think that's the only interview I've ever read/seen with her.
  18. Why is that when people leave this show, they are almost always very certain they'll never ever want to return?
  19. See, I can't even take that [!@#$%^&*] seriously when they screw her name up and attribute a GL story to AMC. And OMG those pictures are NOT cute.
  20. Ugh...what is it with these shows and the traumatic Christmases?
  21. I don't think Margo was really a model. More than anything, Jason probably kept her around and pumped her head with dreams and aspirations of stardom. That article's awesome. I had no idea Jason was that skeevy of a character. Most summaries of that era just say that he and Erica had an affair and Jeff confronted him but found him dead.
  22. ...good for her? I really don't know what I'm supposed to say.
  23. There's a BOATLOAD of things wrong with Sherri's dumb ass, IMO.
  24. OMG it looks like they're trying to bring back Soul Train.
  25. Yeah, that's definitely Myrtle's boutique. I can't tell if it's the same set, though. I don't remember the sequence of events, but somehow it went from being Ann's to being Myrtle's to being Ellen's to being Myrtle's again.
