  1. Yeah, that's Jack Stauffer. He's the Chuck who was with Erica at the diner in the "I want to be special, and I'm going to be!" scene. That little article must be from somewhere in 1972 because Chuck #2 took over some time in that year, and that's also when all of the Margo/Jason stuff with Erica started. Most of what I've read says that Nancy didn't show up until '73, but I guess she was there a little earlier than that. Leave Tara alone! She's working that paisley/polka-dot monstrosity.
  2. Daaaaaaaamn. Young, early 70s Erica, Tara, and Phil were gorgeous, and poor Chuck was a goober.
  3. Such beauty I thought ol' Helmut was always a restauranteur.
  4. Last few minutes of Christmas 1981. How long was Ellen's father Harlan on the show? I assume he was always a recurring character. He's a guest at Erica and Tom's wedding, where it looks like the show might have thought about pairing him with Myrtle. Also, I never knew Audrey Peters was on AMC! I wonder if she and Tudi ever shared a scene since this was just a year after Love of Life ended.
  5. I'm so upset that we'll never get another Christmas episode, even though most of the very recent Xmas extravaganzas have left much to be desired. I just mentioned this in the Lucci marathon thread, but as polarizing as the baby switch (and all of 2004) was, I remember everyone posting here at the time being touched by the spirit thanks to this montage:
  6. I'm not even gonna lie. I would have knocked JM's junk around in the 40s and 50s. Joanna Yaeger!! I love all the Chandler mansion stuff from that time period. Only AMC will have an actor named Peter Phillips playing a character named Philip Peters.
  7. As far as Erica in New York...she was definitely living in the Chandler mansion by the fall of 1984, when Adam faked his death to see how she'd react but then was kidnapped by Billy Clyde. She probably still had her New York apartment, but IDK when/if she ever went back to living there full time. Oddly enough, I watched an episode today where she and Mark threw a party at the NY apartment, and none of the guests were from Pine Valley. I'll bet you a hundred bucks they really mulled over whether or not they could spin Erica off into her own show then. So glad they didn't.
  8. I'm very excited to delve into some of those. I've never really watched a lot of late 80s/early 90s Corrie, so I'm thankful to the poser of those vids! Carl, I'm sure you'll get a kick out of this, but with the news of Katherine Kelly Lang's son doing gay porn making random websites, I thought it was hilarious that one site, obviously totally unaware of who KKL really is, posted a picture of Katherine Kelly with a little inset of KKL's son: I don't know why, but that's so funny to me
  9. Those must be from the 90s DVD sets that came out last week! I'll be sure to check them out before they disappear, though it seems classic Corrie's been sticking around a lot longer on YouTube than it used to. I think all of the DVD episodes from the 60s and 70s are still up there.
  10. I don't think EH ever cared who she was working alongside, though. She was always "on" in every scene with every scene partner, and that's what made her awesome.
  11. Our lovely Eileen I think that's the only interview I've ever read/seen with her.
  12. Why is that when people leave this show, they are almost always very certain they'll never ever want to return?
  13. See, I can't even take that [!@#$%^&*] seriously when they screw her name up and attribute a GL story to AMC. And OMG those pictures are NOT cute.
  14. Ugh...what is it with these shows and the traumatic Christmases?
  15. I don't think Margo was really a model. More than anything, Jason probably kept her around and pumped her head with dreams and aspirations of stardom. That article's awesome. I had no idea Jason was that skeevy of a character. Most summaries of that era just say that he and Erica had an affair and Jeff confronted him but found him dead.
  16. ...good for her? I really don't know what I'm supposed to say.
  17. There's a BOATLOAD of things wrong with Sherri's dumb ass, IMO.
  18. OMG it looks like they're trying to bring back Soul Train.
  19. Yeah, that's definitely Myrtle's boutique. I can't tell if it's the same set, though. I don't remember the sequence of events, but somehow it went from being Ann's to being Myrtle's to being Ellen's to being Myrtle's again.
  20. I know! I think Jonathan does too lol What we meant is just that, though -- we only ever see the black and white kinescopes from the first two years. This is the first time we've seen something from that era in its original color.
  21. You know I'm going absolutely nuts over that little taste of 1971 AMC. And in color, too! I'm hoping more and more of that frustrating 1971-1978 gap gets closed.
  22. The performance of You & I was good. Like...the damn girl can sing. She can sing, and she can write, and she's good! She's GREAT! But...just...ugh. The whole thing really isn't working for her, is it? When Garth Brooks did the whole Chris Gaines thing back in the 90s, people went in with it because it was so different from what Garth was and what people expected from him. For Gaga, it's like "Oh...she's pretending to be a guy. That's the crazy thing she's doing today. Okay. On to the next bit of craziness." She seems to really want this to catch on, but it won't. The crazy stans will eat it up and work themselves to death trying to attach all of the "hidden meanings" they can think of to it, but the fringe fans are gonna consider it another mark against her. Does anyone in the industry really look up to her? If Rihanna or Nicki or Ke$ha had presented Brit's award, I think it would have been a really sweet, memorable moment.
  23. I was done with the Jo [!@#$%^&*] almost as soon as it started. She crapped all over Britney's "moment" (which wasn't much of a moment but whatever) and was just generally weird. She looked so whack when she fell off the piano, and Adele's in the audience, just looking like "Oh...my....okay?"
  24. Perfect song for "back to school" time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPjtfyW-aFg
  25. I believe he was only from 1976-1978. Once they established that he was an !@#$%^&*] to Edna (and Dottie), they killed him off. He was going to poison Edna, but Dottie switched the glasses, so he died at this own hand.
