One Life to Live Tribute Thread
I've been so dismissive of OLTL for the last year, and rightly so, but I won't ignore the hours and hours of fun I've had watching the show and becoming acquainted with its history. It's such a hard show to define, but I guess in the end, it doesn't matter. Llanview's a town in a class of its own, and I'll miss its citizens

You know I hate Zach and Kendall and would personally write the scene that reunites them in hell, but even this makes me sad because I know how much you loved them. I want all of us AMC folks to band together and be nice once and for all until they close the book forever Canceled hoes!

All My Children Tribute Thread
We've been posting here together for years, and I never knew the story of how you got into AMC, but now I do, and it just drives home what these shows have meant to people. I'm so thankful for SON because no one here in my offline life could possibly understand the impact something like this can have someone's life. I almost like it that way, because then Pine Valley really is my "other world," it really is a place that can not and never will be destroyed by anything that gives me stress in life. I definitely meant 2001 (it's nearly finals time, I've been typing up papers and projects every day!). June 7, to be exact. I wonder what the last ten years would have been like had I not randomly clicked to AMC that day, or rather, if my lusty eye didn't catch "older man" Jesse McCartney being all rebellious that day.

All My Children Tribute Thread
That thread's gonna make me so sad now I started watching in June 2011 when I was eleven years old, and even though that was the heart of Passanante's reign, and even though the vast majority of my AMC viewing experience has been of episodes from the last ten years, I take pride in the fact that this show, written by Passanante and Culliton and Rayfield and Cascio and McTavish, was a special, special thing for a kid who, at the time, needed another world to escape to for an hour every day. Perhaps that's why I'm never as hard on some writers as they probably deserve, because no matter how nonsensical one could say their stories were or how horrible one could say their writing was, there was always something, especially in that little 2002-2005 time span, that kept me entertained, kept me watching, and kept me sane. And then as I got more acquainted with the first 30 years, learning those characters and those storylines and as much as I possibly could about what AMC really is, at its core, the attachment I have for this show was born and will never, ever go away. AMC will always have a special place in my heart because of that, and yes, it sounds strange because it's "just a TV show," but I think we soap fans know something and have experienced something that people who haven't committed to watching a soap nearly every day for years upon years can never really understand. Be glad we live in the time of the internet. In the 80s and 90s, after a long-running soap was canceled, that was it. Maybe you had video tapes, or magazine cut-outs. Maybe you were lucky and your soap got picked up for reruns. But in most cases? The show aired its last episode and that was it. I'm eternally grateful that Pine Valley will never more than a few keystrokes away.

- What Are You Listening To?
*dirty, sinful thoughts*- What Are You Listening To?
LMFAO!! I take a moment to get a kick out of Su'n'Hel boogieing down at least once or twice a week. That picture's gonna stick in my mind whenever I get the chance to start reading All My Life, I know it. Yeah, I was actually surprised to realize that, in the early 60s, it was alllll the rage to sing about dead teenagers. Like...why in the hell would anyone dance to that.- What Are You Listening To?
SFK!! I wanted to hear Andy Griffith come in there rappin' about Helen, Sarah, and the rest of his hoes in Mayberry. I love the background vocals here. "Down! Down! Whatchameanwhenyasaydathecamefromthewrongsideoftown?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhKpxJea64A- Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
I was just randomly nosing around on YT and came across those '96 episodes and rushed here to tell Carl, but I see yall have already found them I can't watch them right now, but they're definitely first on the list when I have some spare time.- The Wendy Williams Thread
Wendy has the greatest .gifs. Her face at the beginning of this one is too much: She's gonna be hosting a game show that she and her husband are EPing for GSN called "Love Triangle." Basically, the contestant comes on and chats with Wendy to determine which one of two love interests he or she should go with. It has to be heavily scripted/set-up or something. Premieres on the 18th.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Thanks. I think I'll skip ahead to Jean's return, then. I like Whitney's storyline, but I'm mostly in it for Janine's involvement, and I can't bear being three weeks behind now that Pat's back.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Okay, I'm trying to catch up, but I really can't take much more of stupid/idiot Jane and stupid/mean Shirley constantly falling over themselves to keep the attentions of stupid/slimy Ian and stupid/fat Phil. I'm at a few episodes after Glenda left...if I were to skip ahead to this past Friday's episode, is there anything that I would be missing? And if so, what specific episodes, just so I can catch that stuff and not the nonsense.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Glenda's departure basically makes me loathe Ronnie, Roxy, Phil, and Shirley.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
So glad to have a time frame for Pat's return now. I've been missing her like crazy!- What Are You Listening To?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HhDAKuROEA LOL! I remember this girl got a lot of heat here for doing Baby One More Time because some dumb ass parents thought it promoted domestic violence...I can't even. Adele and Amy would be too awesome.- Flamingo Road
Esther appears towards the very end of season two along with (random) Ernie Hudson. They factor into the Michael Tyrone voooodoooo story. I think we were supposed to see that Field's position in life wasn't necessarily of his own choice but part of the path given to him by more overbearing figures in his life, namely Titus. IIRC, his father was a more kindly man, and had he been alive, I think Field's life would have been much different. Still, I was Team Constance all the way through season one simply because of Field's constant lies. In season two, there are definitely moments where you realize that Field doesn't hate Constance or even dislike her a whole lot. They've known each other for years, so he likes her. He just sometimes resents the lack of control he has on his own life and takes it out on her. One of my favorite side comments was in the Christmas episode where he snarkily, but with total sincerity, wishes her a Merry Christmas. I would have loved to see them transition to a love/hate friendship had the show continued. Constance, sadly, never lived up to her bitchy potential in the show's short run. Her biggest scheme was faking the divorce and then faking the paralysis. Given a few more seasons, I'm sure she would have gotten herself together and struck out on her own instead of relying just on Daddy's money. IIRC, Constance never learns that Lute-Mae is her mother. I never got to see the last couple of episodes, so she might have found out then. It pretty much remained a secret between Claude and Lute-Mae through the first season. Eudora found out the truth while they were all keeping vigil at hospital following the hurricane and Constance's fall at Lute-Mae's. She overheard Claude and Lute-Mae talking about it in the chapel in one of those GREAT soapy reveals -- Claude and Lute-Mae had this big conversation about it in the darkly lit chapel, and as they leave the room, Eudora steps out of the shadows. I need to watch the episodes on YouTube while I can, lord knows how long they'll stay up. If Warner can put The Yellow Rose out on the power Cybill Shepherd, then they can certainly capitalize on Mark Harmon and Morgan, especially considering they're the actual stars (not like plastering Johnny Depp's face on the final season of 21 Jump Street).- What Are You Listening To?
*shocked they let you do Rehab* I want her to make a comeback, too. I always want the drugged out/screwed up ones to come back and prove that the talent is still in there, it's just buried hard times. I feel for Amy though because Adele has basically come in and picked up where she left off, so she'd have to really define who Amy Winehouse is again and get herself out there. And the next time they try to make her go to rehab, her ass needs to say "'kay, 'kay, 'kay..."- What Are You Listening To?
I totally agree. "Rehab" was my SH!T all through the summer before my senior year of high school. I'd always act out the video whenever it came on MTV http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LTPRJqt2z4- The Lady Gaga Thread
That's less country and more southern rock, but maybe it's just me. I do like it, though, and I like it when she just sings her sh!t without all the extra stuff.- The Doctors Discussion Thread
I just found out about James Pritchett's death- Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
That sounds good! I can work with that. I've always imagined him returning with someone and not alone. I hope they don't force some ridiculous relationship drama there. Just let him come back, do whatever, then go back with his rich boyfriend to a good life.- Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
At least PL looks better than I was expecting, still has that slight twinkle in his eye. Do we know anymore about Todd's return yet? I'll have to at least watch clips of my boy - What Are You Listening To?
