When It comes to the return of Genie Francis and Ken Corday's new plan for DAYS, They are bound to happen in 2013 it is just a matter of time. As for the Wishful thinking list I don't see any of those happening. Maurice signed a new contract, CBS/Sony seem determined not to bring Vicki back and Claire could create a new soap but she would have a hard time finding any network to carry it. Maybe she could create a online soap. lol.

I agree that I expect Genie to return to GH and Corday to reboot DAYS for the 1000th time.

Other Expectations:

- Stephen Nichols returns to DAYS as a part of the reboot

- Avery to be continued to be shoved down our throats, and Redzilla to continue to dominate too. - B&B to continue with Liam, Steffy, and Hope. Meanwhile, the remainder of the cast either pimps their love or goes back into the closet.

- A Daniel, Chloe, and Jennifer triangle.

- Sharon to continue being the town mattress instead of focusing on her problems.

- Hope to be in limbo b/c the show won't have the balls to "kill" Bo, thus allowing Hope to get a new pairing.

- That this Prospect Park thing is another hoax to jab at soap fans.

Wishes:

- Christel Khalil to go, and either Davetta Sherwood to return or Shannon Kane to occupy the role of Lily

- Cane dies. This time FOR REAL. Donate his organs and all, so it'll be hard to undo it.

- SONY/CBS to grow a pair, fess up to their faults, and bring Victoria Rowell back! She still remains to be the most wanted return by soap fans.

- B&B to utilize everyone, having an A, B, C, and D storyline.

- Tomlin to exit stage left, and SONY hires a capable writer, who comes in and cleans house. Time for a massacre! Bye Jennifer, Daniel, Gabby, Roman, and Rafe (who I like but needs to go).

- For "poor man's" Ugly Betty/Nola Reardon aka Sabrina and that Britt to get the boot. Felix can go too. And Spinelli. And Connie/Kate. Olivia too. Ok, just have a massacre on this show too.

- For soaps to go back to basic storytelling until they regain an audience. Sensationalized story need to cease until these HWs can prove they can tell a good story, hitting all the proper beats.

- That a production company buys ALL the rights to the P&G soaps, so classic episodes can be offered on DVDs again, and possible reboots can happen.

That's why it was called wishful thinking. I am aware those things aren't happening.

I Expect:

Adam,Chelsea and Sharon will continue to eat Y&R alive

I expect the dreaded triangle will continue on B&B

I expect that Brooke will once again become a scandel

I expect that they will disregard Y&R's 40th anniversary even if they think they haven't

I expect for Hope to once again start popping pills.

Wishful Thinking:

Y&R is able to totally turn itself around by March, and we have a kickass 40th anniversary show with Katherine and Jill

(NOT Victor) front and center

Sheila returns and the explanation this time isn't half-ass

We have a real heartfelt gay storyline on Y&R where no one gets offended by it and the 2 guys are able to walk freely around town and are able to hold hands and kiss and be affectionate without having freaken homophobe Nick Newman call them dragqueens.

Victor,Phyllis Adam, and Cane all die in an explosion.

They recast Lily and put her with Tyler and he helps raise the twins.

Overall just the basic Bill Bell storytelling that Y&R is in desperate need of and will probably never be back on the show.

For B&B The triangle ends when Liam falls over Bill's balcony and dies

Rick throws Thomas out the window this time.

The stupid Forrester vs Logan face off doesn't happen.

DAYS:

-Corday makes huge changes for the worst in order to save the show. (ie Firing Deidre, Drake, Eileen, Lauren, Kristian)

-Bryan Datillo continues to get no storyline and takes the place of Lisa Rinna by randomly popping up in the middle of episodes.

-Sami gets together with Rafe until May sweeps. Sami & EJ become a couple from May to July. Sami reunites with Rafe in August, but they break up again in October. Sami & EJ reunite in November and have a big November Sweeps wedding, but it doesn't last long when Sami leaves him after the wedding. Sami reunites with Rafe at Christmas.

It's basically a Passions story without any of the fun.

I love it! It's sad, but that's definitely what's going to happen. It's a pattern with this show. EJ/Sami = Sweeps (Feb/May/July/November) while Rafe/Sami = the rest of the year.

Expectations:

Y&R continues its upswing. By March it will be brilliant (but fans will still be complaining).

Eileen Davidson will return as Ashley.

B&B will continue to torture us with Hope and Liam.

Ronn Moss will return to B&B.

Caroline will be ushered off the show due to viewer disinterest.

Jesus, is DAYS really that dreadful? I was never big on the show (the only time that I watched on a regular basis was around the time that Sami was on death row for killing Franco Kelly), but is it really swimming in the gutter while waiting for the ax to swing?

Jennifer Finnigan landed a role on the new drama "Monday Morning", a medical drama starring Alfred Molina and Ving Rames. Looks pretty interesting.

So am I the only one who thinks Ken Corday is an idiot? He claims to "Know the show and respect his parent's show" yet he makes so many stupid decisions. He continues to bring back crappy writers, brings back vets only to release them again, continues to allow characters we care nothing about (Daniel, Jennifer, Gabi, Rafe) to be shoved down our throats. He continues to use the worst music I've ever heard on a daytime soap opera ever. It sounds like techno/porn music. He starts with a plan to take the show one way and when viewers get used to it he jerks the audience in a 180 with a "new plan". He continues to let the show move at a snail's pace. One thing that Frank Valentini has done at GH that I love is that the show moves faster. There's more action, conversation and the scenes move faster and I for one like it. One thing that annoys me about DAYS is that it moves at a snail's pace. I didn't mind it back when James E. Reilly wrote the show because he would keep people hooked for an entire hour like Cartini have managed to do with GH. I don't like how DAYS has some scenes or conversations that last the entire hour and don't really get anything done besides people sitting around or having a few laughs. I could go on and on. lol but I'll stop because I know Ken will have a "New Plan for DAYS" in the coming months with returning vets that he will keep on a few months them fire again.

So for 2013 my expectations are:

B&B will improve. Brad talked in the SOD 2013 preview that they were going to "take the genre to the next level" whatever that means.

I expect Genie Francis will return to GH

I think Prospect Park will claim the OLTL characters currently on GH and then once they are gone we will see the show gel together even more

I think Y&R will eventually catch fire. The story of Avery's husband who is in the military that is coming up in a few months sounds like it has the potential to be good

Wishful thinking:

That somebody would fire Ken Corday and put someone in charge at DAYS who knows what they are doing and brings us back our veterans and our families and builds back up the Bradys/DiMeras/Hortons and gives us some great epic stories that would thrill us the way DAYS did in the 90's

That atleast one new soap opera debuts on one of the networks either CBS, ABC, or NBC.

I would love to have known what Ted & Betty Corday's reaction would have been in 1965 if someone had told them that by 2013 DAYS would be focused on Bill's widowed daughter, Marie's convict grandson, a horny doctor, and a straight girl impregnated by a gay guy.
