I don't remember the balance on this show ever being this bad before, not even during the height of the Brooke/Ridge/Taylor story.

bc Brooke, Ridge and Taylor didnt completely take over the show. Even though they were the main attraction, the show also had other ongoing stories which werent merely started and wrapped up within a month with those characters going back in the attic till the next family function

I don't understand why Brad Bell seems incapable of writing for more than a few characters anymore. He used to be able to write for the whole canvas. During the mid 90s, when B&B was really good, there were lots of stuff going on besides B/R/T. He was able to keep that triangle going alongside stories for Thorne, Macy, Sheila, James, Lauren, Maggie, Sally, Clarke, Eric, Stephanie etc.

Exactly. Before there were ALWAYS more than one big on-going storyline. The past 10 years, there have been unbalance. I remember calling B&B names like "The Amber show", "The Brooke show" and "The Hope show".

It's no wonder I pretty much stopped watching B&B around the time Liam came on when the show became all about Hope and Liam. We've had Liam/Hope/Oliver, Hope/Liam/Amber, Liam/Hope/Thomas and for the longest time Hope/Liam/Steffy.

Sure, the Brooke/Ridge/Taylor triangle lasted FOREVER, but like you've already said, that triangle never took ALL spotlight.

Actually the Brooke/Ridge/Taylor/Nick/Bridget mess pretty much took up the entire show from about 2004 to 2007.

I wish they could've done more with Karen and Dani. Thorne and Taylor need a storyline too, aren't they together, offscreen of course or did they drop that entirely. I'd like to see Stephanie, Eric, Rick and Amber with their own story as well. Any time they start something good, it gets dropped.

Taylor mentioned visiting Thorne in the dungeone last week. Their only onscreen appearance that I can recall as a couple this year was Eric and Stephanie's anniversary. Their entire relationship has been handled off screen unfortunately, which is a shame. I cant beleive they missed out on the oppurtunity to do the Allie angle. The actress playing Caroline could have been cast as Allie, just returning from boarding school and learning her father has taken back up with her mother's killer
