1 yr ago: TSUNAMI

The lamp post comes down on TC and pins him. Eve runs over to TC crying “No!” She tells TC that she can’t lose him, and he says she’ll never lose him. Eve summons super strength to lift the post off of TC. She wants to examine him, but he says he is okay. He says their first priority must be Whitney. Later, the wave heads for Harmony and they hear the sound. It crashes down on them, carrying them away.

At the Blue Note, Julian asks Liz if she’s trying to seduce him. She says so my sister is good enough for you but I’m not? He says no, she is despicable. The aftershock then hits. She keeps yelling at Julian about not being good enough for him even though her whore of a sister is.

Noah and Fancy run for cover during the aftershocks. The quakes end, and they end up out on the beach somewhere.

On the wharf, Theresa is knocked out by the after shocks. Ethan sees a sign dangling above her that is about to fall on her.

Jessica and Spike are in Spike’s car when the aftershock hits. She thinks this is God punishing her for killing that man. We see a flashback of Spike killing the man and letting Jessica think she did it. The aftershocks ends, and Jessica says “We’re alive!”

At Maureen’s place, Sheridan asks Luis if he was able to find Marty, is that why he’s back so soon? Luis says they have a lot to talk about, they will work through their problems. Sheridan asks once again if he found Marty? She looks over and sees Marty and realizes he is here. Marty runs to her calling out “mommy!”

Fansoap, do you have a credible source for this recap? I need a credible episode guide with dates of exact airings because I am in DIRE need of updating my 2005 and 2006 library of episodes. They've been neglected, just stacked in a closet, and not dated, summarized and catalogued in the "Passions" box. :(

I've been going here to read up on Passions past, since I've only really started watching this year.

I envy you having all those episodes. :)

And what a waste that was. It did nothing for the show.

2005 was not a good year for Passions; take it from someone who has watched from the beginning. The Tsunami was actually embarassing, especially if you compare it to Sunset Beach's "Shockwave" storyline from the Summer of 1998. Being a devoted fan of the show, I watched, but it definitely wasn't one of the shows finer moments.

The earthquake and tsunami were awesome!! :D I loved it!

I loved the special effects, the camp, the drama, the romance...

Memorable moments:

-The first victim of Jessica the serial killer/hooker is killed (yes, I know Spike did it, but Jess did the rest)

-Fancy and Noah in the department store

-Ethan and Theresa together

-Katherine riding Rachel's coffin to safety

-Fox and Kay finding love

-Edna's make over and surfing out of Harmony

-Sheridan getting her hands on the Replacement Marty

I personally loved the disaster, and I thought 2005 was another awesome year for Passions. You naysayers are kkkkkrazy.

I hated the story, It was very dissapointing. I agree it was very embarrasing compared to Sunset Beach's Shockwave. If I remeber correctly Passions ratings didn't even increase during this "big" story.

Thanks for the link, Helena. And by the way, it's not what you think. I don't have every episode; just my favorites, which usually are the ones with the big events (prom boat disaster, sheridan buried alive, "the incredible summer of passions" from 2002 with Wax Theresa and the execution...past Christmases...the mineshaft, etc etc etc). I have the most from 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. My collection slows down with 2005 and 2006 for obvious reasons but I'm definitely seeing an upswing in it again with the latest episodes where the new stories and couples are starting...I just have to have these episodes from the past two weeks, and that's really saying something, based on my not all-inclusive colleciton. ;)

Thank you, too, Krypton! I'm totally checking both of these sites out, perhaps this weekend.

Amazingly, I agree that 2005 wasn't the best but I just had to keep the disaster for my collection. It wasn't the best story, no, but I appreciate the attempt "Passions" made with all the water and the effects. Plus there were some good, memorable scenes in it that I just HAD to have forever. :)

I think I watched the episode the quake hit and the episode the tsunami hit. And a few more episodes of the tsunami fall out, but I wasn't that impressed with the story. I was pretty disappointed actually. But I guess I was comparing it to SHOCKWAVE, which nothing could hold a candle to.

Aww, WorldTunrs, would that I could. I have no idea how I could possibly get video tape into a computer. (And yeah, I'm the film student, hahaha, but at the lab we had much more advanced equipment; I don't know how to do it 'the basic, homemade way.' and I'm pretty sure I haven't the physical technology, as in adapters and such. )

The only day the ratings were high was the day of the actual Earthquake. I believe they got a 2.0 for that day. They were back at a 1.7 by the end of that week and pretty much stayed there.

It was a big waste of water. Hell in a Closet was a better "big event" if only for the sheer over the top-ness of it all. The tsunami was a waste of time.
