About Jason and his potential romances, taking only this past month into account, Steve Burton easily had the most chemistry with Rebecca Herbst. I'm not a couple person and am not at all advocating them to reunite, just calling it like I see it, so far.

Portia was the best part of today. She wasn't taking any of these whack white people's crap and she made it known. Brook Kerr really is great in the role. That excited/concerned gasp she let out when Curtis first walked in front of her ... just such strong choices. She made me care. She brings a lot of heart to the role.

The Heather stuff is solid material for me. When she told Kevin what she dreamed of doing if she was a free woman almost made me tear up.

Sofia Mattson truly does give off horse girl vibes in every way. Still, I think Sasha is the character I'd miss the least if she left, but the show is engaging enough for me that I'm willing to let things simmer and stir without sharpening my axe just yet.

And Tracy being a full rounded character in 2024 is a wonderful thing to behold.

They are clearly mopping up old stories carefully and somewhat slowly - Curtis and Marshall, Sasha at Deception, etc. The Jason saga (and the major family fallout) and the changes to Heather are obviously new, and stuff like Drew and Nina. The tone, content and execution for me are very different from a couple months ago, and it's a consistently well-written show worth watching now IMO. But yes, I agree it's time for unemployment to start hitting the cast. Multiple UI claims! I'm ready to see the big waves.

@Vee ain't gonna be happy 'til he sees the banner "BLOODBATH AT GH!" splashed across SON, lol.

I loved this scene, too, but I pray this doesn't mean Stella will become Tracy's Magical Negro.

Really?  I mean, he's alright, but...he's no Philip Brown.

Seriously, some of us are hoping Chase and Brook Lynn's nuptials will turn into GH's answer to Red Wedding, lol.

I agree with much that has been said. I also don't think that what Patrick got from Douglas was those "rules" & of course, Marland didn't live by them, not at all.

To me PM/EK are knocking down C&D as fast as anyone could. It's just going to take some time. I pray to the soap gods that they are given that much time!!

Also BetterForgotten's list of things we don't care about, absolutely. I care about Jason's story & about Kraze. Also I care about showing Sonny for the creature he has always been but normally not called on it by anyone. Love that PM/EK are finally doing that!

We all know that chem is subjective. I see every kind of chem there is betw LW & SBu. I can see them doing a long slow burn to Jarly, but I can also see that they might not. If they don't then Jarly will still be each other's special friend.

I know that some people here do not respect info I get from my sources. For that reason I do not mention them much, here, anymore. However, I am going to say a few things. Again I'm putting them under spoiler space, to be considerate of anyone who does not want to know.

Spoiler

Jason is to continue to be shown with his kids, family, Jason's human side.

There's not going to be a purge, no bloodbath, and why? The network likes GH at this size & scope. On the one hand that's great to know about the network LIKING GH! But, all of the rest of us think this cast is bloated so that part is not so good!!! Too many is the new enough.

Another thing that I think is good is that, by & large, most fans online at least do think that the day to day show is so much better! And, I am reminded that online fans are thought to only make up about 12% but we also know that we are LOUD.

Only one more thing. Looking at ABC Daytime, GH does quite well, I believe, in ratings. As far as I know, GH & The View are ABCD's best shows & that is something that counts.

It didn't start that way. Blaze was just a potential spoiler between Chase and BLQ during their horrible Linc storyline. And I saw potential there honestly. And I like she gave Adrienne Leon as BLQ vibes...right down to her clothes. But to be fair I do like black, leather, and Goths so...not surprised by anything Hot Topic-ish.

That said...I felt they built onto her personality at the start of the Blaze/Kristina storyline. And it wasn't because she was both Latinx or LGBTQI+. She was just...a singer. I didn't get a token vibe from her pre-writing change.

That said...it has occurred to me that usually...in recent years...when another culture does appear that usually the black characters on shows do get sidelined. And I definitely don't want another case of the Rosales from Y&R because I feel there can be potential for all characters regardless of race...but I can't help but wonder has the uptick in Blaze/Blaze's mom persence come at the expense of the black characters on GH. I still think it is too soon to tell for me, though.

But you give me something to think about with Blaze's scenes now to consider.

I won't mind seeing foine Phillip Brown or Robert Tyler again myself. Woof.

I feel like they are personally. Things are slowly, but surely being re-aligned. Can't hate on that.

Yet.

About time someone realized how ridiculous it is that everyone is becoming so buddy-buddy with Heather.

Too bad Dex hasn’t realized yet that he could do much better than Joss. #Trex

    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
    • Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!

    • So, I have been in the hospital all week. I am close to being up to date on my soaps. Now I have to go to the Infusion Ctr daily to get IV antibiotics, for 6 weeks. I am frankly exhausted. A hospital is no place to be when you're sick. Hooked up to machines that go beep beep beep all day & night long. Someone wakes you up every hour on the hour for something, either to stick you with needles or to take your gosh-awful blood pressure for the umpteenth time. So, you don't get any sleep. Now I have a central line, upper right chest. After they "installed" it, I said, I am now Borg. They just stared at me. Apparently scifi is not general knowledge. What happened? I have an infection inside my big toe right foot & it burned the skin on my foot. The burned skin is already better. It was like a bad sunburn. The infection inside the toe is the issue. Oral antibiotics won't even get its attention. So, IV antibiotics plus time.

As Salem bids farewell to John Black on Monday, the "Days" family and fans say a final goodbye to Drake Hogestyn.   From his time as a young man playing baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees to his almost four-decade run as John Black, Drake always did his best. And, while becoming a soap opera icon, he spent almost 40 years at "Days" telling the best stories and taking the younger cast under his wing to make sure they would do their best as well. Thank you, Drake, for the legacy you have left for everyone at "Days." The impact you made on the cast, crew and fans will never be forgotten...and that's a fact.
    • I found an interview with Joseph Breen (Will Jeffries) where he mentions that Reva was put in a coma so Zimmer could go to Hollywood to do a pilot (OMG, if ONLY it had been picked up, LOL) and that Sonni and Josh and Will became a popular with the audience while she was out of commission.  If you want to read the whole thing: https://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?id=47394 Breen was known for being very candid in interviews, I wish I could find more of them. I seem to recall he made a couple of snarky comments about Zimmer, implying she was not above acting like a diva. Sounded to me like he had a lot of respect for Forbes (who went on to have a very strong and varied career after GL).
    • I was so confused why Devon was prying into Nicks love life and then it clicked and I remembered they’re brother-in-laws. Shows how little I pay attention to this show anymore. I was like uh? Do these two even know each other this well?
    • The Bell soaps, B&B and Y&R: cannot watch. If I went by the last time I did I would have to give them both D- but I really don't think it counts when you're not a daily watcher.  DAYS: B+ (Now this is with the knowledge that for years I have given this show a D- because I've been a fan for too long to give it the F it deserved.) GH: A+ (With Korte driving this bus to me the show is so much better! IMO we just had the best NB in so many years I cannot count!) BTG: A solid (Things I love, a few I do not, nothing I hate, still find it in general remarkable.) As always, thanks for doing this thread. I count it. I always look for it & I always post.
    • Okay, I continue to maintain that what is so good about this particular reveal followed by umbrella storyline is that you can see & understand many different points of view where there is not one bad guy or one 100% right person.  About your stated opinion, that Lois & Gloria did the right thing, you know that this was technically an illegal adoption? For it to have been legal the father, if known, would have to have been informed & have signed off on terminating his own paternal rights. And, of course, it is clear how many people they lied to.  Personally I feel like Lois is going to take the biggest "public" blame with Lulu a close second in the blame category. I am looking forward to a tongue lashing I hope Brook Lynn gives to Gloria. I continue to be more than annoyed with Dante. First his attitude toward Gio with regards to Rocco & a drinking game & its results. Second his attitude toward Lulu. Meanwhile enjoying the show every day!
    • Lois and Gloria did the right thing I feel knowing it was Camila that raised Gio has BL feeling some jealousy No one is saying that Camila was a bad mother to Gio I believe it will be Gio saying that Camila was great to him, thanking Lois and Gloria to get BL to see truth
