Oh good.  I was getting nervous because Nik/Liz don't usually share that many scenes.  And when Liz got knocked out by Esme and she woke up to see Nik say "trust me" I got a weird vibe.  I am with Lucky.  I don't need to see them rutting like farm animals again

LOL!!!

I could be wrong, but I feel like they are playing them for a reason that isn't a romance.

Watching these Sprina scenes with the Hat Dad stuff, I am starting to wonder if the Hook is Trina and even she doesn't know. Thus, yep, Curtis is the dad and schizophernia does run in that family. But that might be too crazy.

Finally finish watching and saw that. But I also saw that Hat Daddy mentioned that the test they did on Curtis was not around when he was originally diagnosed. I would think they would not have mentioned that specifically unless they were leaving some wiggle room for something.

I don't like the optics either...though Spencer trying to get through to her could be fun.

But I am just trying to throw out ideas about who the Hook is. They keep using Esme as a red herring, but it appears she's not the Hook. And given the information showed so far...I am just speculating who it could be. It even occurred to me that maybe it really was Liz like I thought when Ava was attacked and she really had some form of a mental break. Since the Finn wife thing happened when she was protecting her family...perhaps she felt the video that Esme did with Cam/Joss was some (unseen) trigger for that other persona to come out and attacked all these people. It appears Trina is the connection but she's a red herring herself and protecting family (in this case Cam) caused this Hook persona. But I am probably just overthinking. lol.

Hahahahahaha!!!! Look at Laura!!! Playing in everyone's face!!!! After decades of seeing her on the defense, it's nice to see that now that she is back in town...Laura is on the offense. Can we keep her like this?

I thought that was a great Sprina scene. But I do agree that perhaps they should have had it a while back. Like right before Spencer was put in jail. But I get why. I blame the writers for having them vanish for a good minute outside of trying to build up dislike drama between her and Curtis. And yes, AC was on vaca, but still...smh. Now I'm worried they are going to vanish again. A shame between after that scene, I would like to see more.

Speaking of Cassindine...this recast though. I said the other day he was giving RKK Stravos vibes in his scenes with Esme. But watching him with everyone else...watching...it is so eerie how much he was successfully mimicking MC's version of Nikolas. The hand gestures. The glances. That coming up behind Ava when she was at the door. Those pants...eventually...hehe. He clearly studied him, but yet he still had his own presence. Charisma if you will. Now I admit that he has some nice chemistry with RH as well...something I don't see with MC.

Speaking of Liz...I LIVE for Carly/Liz scenes. And I loved these latest ones. You really could feel the history between the two of them as Liz was being so cold about her parents. And for the first time, I thought Carly was the right person for her to talk to given Carly's adventure down in Florida. I felt they were everything in their scene that the writers would like Sam/Carly to be, but they don't have it.

Oh, Jeff showed up in town. And got punched. hehe.

As for Anna...dare it if they don't have me cheering for her and Valentin. Which reminds me...I think the build to them as a couple was very well paced for the most part. But it did sneak up on people so it felt earned...if that makes sense.

She was my first guess when Ava was attacked because she had missing time and Nikolas had to cover for her. But it looked like it was a red herring just due to the other attacks. But now that they appear to be connected through Trina...and even post-reveal Liz is STILL acting funny rather than getting better...I'm starting to wonder again.

Especially that Liz/Carly scene. RH was playing it how she was playing scenes with Finn back when this started. It was like it was Liz, but it WASN'T Liz. Like someone else was there. It was a great scene, but also odd.

I mean would they do that to her for her 25th anniversary though...?

    • Yes, the Liz and Lucky scenes were horrible. Kristina better be sent to prison.   I'm already getting tired of BLQ continuing to blame Lois for her mistakes. Yes, let's move this along.
    • Oh I agree that they erred in not showing her bonding more with her family and not having this examined more closely. I think if I cared about Lucky or Laura I'd be more agitated. I think the material they have given her (aside from chasing after Charlotte, which was hurt by not focusing more on Rocco's response and just by Charlotte never having a reason to exist) has been OK but certainly not what it could have been.
    • I have never been much of a Lulu fan either since the JMB days.  I do think Alexa Havins is really a great recast.  When Lulu returned it was at the expense of Sam (no loss to me) but not the best for audience favor, she was barely on screen for weeks after she woke up, then went to run off and put everyone in danger to find Charlotte at the expense of her other child, and finally moved on to this Brook/Dante baby investigation.  Lulu never had a chance to grieve the years she lost, re-bond with her family or her friends, re-integrate herself back into town, or be anything more than a chaos creator. Meanwhile, Brook Lynn is this poor, innocent victim that's being bullied by Lulu.  I don't think Lulu is right.  I would just like a little more subtlety in the writing.
    • Just beautifully done. I could name some minor quibbles, but I won't, because what DAYS gave us today was golden. That was soap opera at its finest, paying homage to history and legacy and actors and the audience. This is why we love soaps.
    • To clarify, we could argue about the necessity to have John Black speak while in hospital, but the body created an opportunity for people to touch him, and move around him.  Even though I never totally suspended my disbelief, I appreciated their creative choice to form a visual representation of loss.  Certainly there were other ways to tell this story, but it will stay with me because those production choices enabled these performances. However, with disdain, I note that Days has found an odd middle ground between a flashback and a montage.  I define a flashback as least a couple of rounds of dialogue, if not a whole scene.  And a montage would be a visual snippet without much dialogue.  But, these were often just a single line, or an entrance.  It felt like a bit of a tease, and made me wish that Peacock had curated a playlist of John Black's Greatest Hits, like they do for some Bravo shows or SNL characters.  OT - but they have yet to maximize that platform.
    • It's tough for me because I feel like this has always been Lulu. She used to be even worse, slut-shaming, verbally abusing other women, and always being written as being in the right. They should let Brook Lynn get dirtier, but I think the material of Lulu digging and being self-righteous, making everything worse even while not intending to do so, but also not being as in the wrong as Dante thinks she is, all makes sense for her. But I don't have as much experience with Lulu as a lot of fans as I just could never stomach her beyond the time she was a mute kid, so I don't have much right to speak.
    • Thanks @JAS0N47 for all the ratings!   All My Children hits Number 1 in the ratings for the first time in its history during the week of 8/20/73-8/20/73!
    • I think the writing is slanted against Lulu.  I don't think there is an issue with the character in general.  I just think Lulu comes doesn't get many layers or nuance in her writing.  Lulu becomes obnoxious and a bully to Brook Lynn and both characters SHOULD have flaws.
    • Totally here for Anita dumping Sharon in the past for first Dante Green, and then Vernon...
