I'd imagine they are secretly  relieved - having non-white characters who were popular with fans likely made their heads hurt.

I wouldn’t be surprised, honestly. Having Portia/Curtis/Jordan in their segregated corner is more their style.

Yeah, honestly...I really don't think Valentini has ever had any interest in promoting black characters. His work at OLTL says it all. He, and ABC as a whole, want pretty, white faces  (for the women - the men can be as ugly as possible), and a majority of their remaining viewers do as well. 

I'm glad Sydney is leaving to help build her future rather than stay with a show that would never have any real use for her.

It's very obvious where their priorities are.

The whole cabin setup with Esme drugging Trina became about Cam and Joss banging while Trina disappeared, so yeah.

And Joss gets all the good scenes of telling Esme off when Trina is ostensibly Esme’s romantic rival. 

If I'm being perfectly honest, I never saw the amazing talent Sydney had anyway. She has a very bland way of delivering her lines. I think the same of Eden McCoy.

I'm going to miss Sydney as Trina. She was such a bright spot amongst the teen scene, I hope she does well in all of her future endeavors. I know she was doing a lot of voice over work along with GH and college too.

Definitely gonna miss Sydney, but I predict big things for her in the future.   Lookswise,  Tabyana Ali looks a lot like Sydney, hopes she can act as good as Sydney too.

I believe we were both on team she’s leaving lol.

I think it is incredibly sad that people have to post to their soap audience to be nice to a new actress.  I hope she is given a chance, because it’s certainly not her fault we are where we are.

And I am all about education.  But I also bet if Frank had offered her what she was worth there might have been at least a 2 year contract, enough to play this out some.  I really liked her as Trina, I hope the new performer brings what we love and new dimensions to the character.
