I am pretty sure she will be back (I mean, Reckell left in a blaze of bitter glory and STILL came back) but I don't put it on the same level as FS.

KA won't ever *need* to come back, financially or otherwise. On the other hand, whenever she does want to come back, she will be welcome.
FS is very very likely to need to have a job at some point and prefer *that* entertainment job over having a real job once he realizes that pyramid schemes and YT money wear off the longer he has been off the show and his "fame" fades. But I can't imagine that he will be particularly remembered/missed in 10 years if it takes him that long to see the light.
The iron is still warm but it will get a lot colder a lot faster than KA.

Yeah, Kristian will come back when/if the show ends as a gesture to Corday and her friends at the show. She doesn't need it.

Freddie Smith will begin lobbying to come back/crowbarring the studio doors when he realizes he is not going to become a lifestyle brand.

Yeah, I have a hard time believing KA will never be back too, but I don't have a hard time believing she financially doesn't have to return ever and is set for life.

With this news of the Days Peacock spin off my wonder is if FS didn't get asked back and it was a pre-emptive strike releasing that podcast and Sonny has already been recast.   Because how many friends does Chad have in Phoenix lol?

Could be. The timing does seem a bit suspicious that he'd randomly announce that - if that's the case, I wonder if he was the one who said no, or if it's the show that wouldn't accomodate him.

Or maybe the show just didn't ask him back period?  And just asked Chandler or something?  To me, it seems like very strange timing, but it could be a coincidence.  I just think FS has enough friends on Days he probably got wind of it before it was announced and doubled down on his happiness with his departure.  Whatever works for you, Freddie.

Could be?

I mean, I get if he turned them down for a blink-and-you'll-miss-it part, especially if he's relocated to Florida as the money is not that good. Still, it would probably be good for his "brand" (whatever that is) to appear in it as he'd be able to get Instagram pictures with Lipsa et al. So.... yeah. Might be that he just wasn't asked.

I thought Sonny last return was just ridiculous. They want him for several episodes like Chandler and he couldn't return so they did a zoom call from Florida? Why bother with him.

For me, it would be more about the exposure and being able to make a few podcasts about it or get some interviews.  It would be worth it to me just for that, but I am not FS and maybe he is actually trying to distance himself from it all.   Idk, maybe his wife does really well in real estate lol.

Lol.  He still always gets asked back.  But I can see why he doesn't book much other work.

Now that they’ve announced the Days spin off, it’s more clear why Freddie is saying this now. They didn’t say Will or Sonny is appearing, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what brought this up. Perhaps they want a stronger actor since it’ll be for a streaming service.

    • Yes.  I remember them together during the early summer of 1986.  They didn't share scenes again for 30 years until 2017 because Carrie wasn't on the show when Anna returned during Sydney's kidnapping.
    • I can see Kim being that way. Well, Kyle didn't have to say yes. LOL. The suicide attempt feels plot-driven. I don't know if even Long could've made it work. She'd spent so much time trying to make Reva and Kyle into a couple, it feels odd to just have them give up. Not to mention how odd it is to have Maeve agree to marry him. Re Charita---surely they could've at least tried  finding clips with who was still there. Maybe they wouldn't have been "big" moments, but surely she'd interacted with Ross, Vanessa, and Henry. Vanessa had dated Ed, FCOL. But Mo and Rick were there---surely they could've bothered to find some clips of her with them (and they did interact a fair amount) and used them. And with Ed they could've found some shot of her talking to him and just not cut to whoever was playing Ed in the clip. That to me is what feels lazy---they had more than a year to figure it out, and they went with a bunch of photos. If you were sort of centering it on Rick anyway---then find clips with them and use 'em.
    • I definitely think it's time to write off Nina for good. I think her killing Drew might actually be a good idea. She could completely lose it after losing both Sasha and Willow and she ends up murdering Drew and eventually she gets caught and sent away to prison for a long time.
    • I hope it's okay to post this here(as in from DC)
    • Quick question - did Christie and Leann share any scenes together in the '80s before Leann left the show?
    • This is the perfect way to encapsulate the situation. So many morally-reprehensible stories were foisted on the show and its characters in ATWT's dwindling years. Rape should never be used as a cheap plot device or in a way that degrades the victim. Jack's sexual assault was another heinous example of how nasty the the show's tone had become. The fact that people like Hogan Sheffer, Ron Carlivati, Jean Passanante, Charles Pratt, Dena Higley, etc., somehow end up winning awards for their material, decimates the credibility and integrity of the awards, IMHO. Soaps used to have a solid moral core and did not originally wallow in the gutter, rolling around in filth and depravity just to be cool, hip, campy, or whatever else modern-day PTB aim for. Thank you. Cruelty, degradation and misogyny are not components which lend themselves to successful soaps, which have always been predicated on warmth, family bonds, and providing a comforting haven for their audience. The genre has been crippled because the cynical and ignorant executives in charge understand neither the shows nor what the audience wants to see.
    • Beverlee was on a whole other level from Kim. It's not like they were in competition with each other. I get the feeling that Kim had a slight problem with the super-professional, serious cast members who just wanted everyone to be prepared and do the work, as she seems to like having fun on set. (She's made a few cracks about Chris Bernau being like that). Bev was definitely one of those. But they didn't work together that much. Yeah, they made her manic and also much weaker. She always had a vulnerability, but wanting to kill herself over that guy? No way. Not only that, he didn't leave her! She insisted he marry Maeve. When they did the tribute to Bert/Charita, the compilation of scenes with her showed how much the cast had been almost totally turned over in a relatively short period of time. Nearly every shot was of her by herself because most people she had worked with had been fired, left or been replaced. I assume they couldn't show her with people who hadn't been replaced, like Don Stewart, Elvera Roussel, or Robert Newman because they would have had to pay them for using their clips. It's dreadful to watch. Like she had no connection to the current show.
