For those who think Pine Valley is dead, ABC started working on this in December and according to the article, they had to “rush” and order this to pilot because Blair Underwood had other offers.

This says to me that, as I expected, Pine Valley was intended for the 2022-2023 season and if that’s the case there is still plenty of time for it a pilot to be ordered since upfronts isn’t until May 2022.

Of course there are no guarantees, but hope is still alive.

I mean, shows can literally stay in development for years and years if the network wants to make it work. It's not unusual. If they've indicated to the ones who've worked so far with the script etc that it's still in contention, then it's still in contention.

Not saying that I necessarily believe it will come to fruition, but it doesn't mean it's dead because it's quiet.

I had forgotten about it. ABC has awful programming  but I don't see this happening. They should try to sell this to Peacock and have it there. It won't get a full season of episodes but would be something like Beyond Salem.

I think a revival of AMC could be interesting. I read Susan Lucci has interest in it.

A prime time soap or something about Beyond Salem could be good. I'd like to see a revival of old soaps. I miss them too much.

(Just a little Off Topic: I wonder why TheCW and Netflix don't do a remake of Dallas with original characters but in modern day setting, like Dynasty... it could be an interesting soap Universe)

Personally, I'd be down for a "Falcon Crest" reboot, because I think it (and "Knots Landing") has a premise that could work today, but I'd be so afraid that it would suffer the same identity crisis that the original series suffered.

I wouldn't mind if ABC would take a stab at doing a Ryan's Hope reboot for Primetime. I would of course have it set in Washington Heights and have the cast be diverse. Perhaps make Delia and Bob Afro-Latino.

I mean the reboot to LA Law finally got picked up ... well for a pilot. but it's probably going to go forward. I can see them maybe picking up Pine Valley for perhaps a Mid-Season or Summer run if the series does get a series order.

    • Which is what I'm sure the show wanted. Now Liz can be ready for Finn's triumphant return.
    • I am so damned embarrassed to be an American with that...thing...at the helm.
    • Jan was supposed to be a Dupree family housekeeper, which connected Ashley to Naomi... but I'm pretty sure they dropped that storyline.
    • Very sorry to hear of her passing. Aside from a few clips I've only ever "known" her through scripts and photos, but she along with the rest of the original cast helped make a show that changed daytime forever. We're still talking about one of her major stories on here to this very day.
    • That's a lovely photo. RIP.

    • I'll miss him too (still can't believe those were actual publicity photos - Joe Breen must have had a coronary), but he won't be gone forever.  Rauch did well at making people feel they were important (as long as they were willing to play along). That's probably why Erika Slezak loved him (he also gave her better story than he gave Zimmer). I think Kim has a certain amount of self-awareness but also needed to feel like she was the big star and desperately needed by the show. Wheeler was clearly incapable of expressing that.
    • Nicole has 2 assistants but no one else gets any staff (that we see). Are Dani and Hayley fixing meals and clearing blocked drains? I think they need to establish that they have some assistance. Vernon and Anita need to have a visible housekeeper. Give the Duprees some help!
    • . Her husband posted the following message: "The love of my life. The brightness in my life which is now so dimmer. In April I lost you and I miss you so much and I hope you are at peace. Lost Pam due to things beyond what was going on in her life. The original Peggy Brooks on The Young and the Restless and many more shows and commercials and then the creator of Chocolate Fortunes. So beautiful and a hell of a sense of humor. Great laugh, Great smile and Great compassion. You are my sidekick forever. Will miss you and all your sharp barbs. The angels are with you my beautiful angel. Fly safe and be happy. Much love and kisses forever."

    • I grew up in a neighborhood behind the gates and it really wasn't uncommon to have your house unlocked. In my neighborhood there was an armed gate before you enter the neighborhood and you have security patrolling 24/7. One thing that was common when I was in high school were for the kids whose parents were real estate agents to use their houses to throw house parties. It was easy because they were always unlocked.
