I agree, and the first sign that it doesn't work is that "Y&R does it a lot also."
-- Why in the living hell would Devon allow Leslie to reschedule recording time without discussing it with Anita? I hate writing that makes no sense.
-- Why is Jacob this pressed about Izaiah talking to Kat? Not realistic to get to the point of loud accusation.
-- This show needs more sets before an Uptown renovation. We're (again) getting the Y&R treatment: Characters moving from coffee bar to restaurant to bar lounge and back again. Eva is now doing her "work" at the coffee bar and at tables and booths at Orphey Gene's. Leslie made her way from one eating/drinking place to another.
-- Leslie thinks that an Articulettes record with Barbara's voice will make Eva's life better, that people will then look up to her and not look down on her. I wish this was supposed to show how delusional Leslie is, but I think the writers are saying it with a straight face. I mean, GMAFB.
-- Hearing Samantha discuss her itinerary in Tokyo and dropping brand names does not make up for this sweatshop story being a bust. There's nothing to care about. Now we hear Anita will finance Samantha's graduation trip -- another excursion we'll never see.
-- Now Heather is pushing herself on Smitty. I wish we knew why her character needs to know everyone in town.
-- I guess they're trying to turn the Red Market story into something. They haven't succeeded yet.
-- Bottom line? We're getting scenes and not stories on this show.
