Okay- constant testing.  Has anyone here heard of instantaneous results for a COVID test?  I haven’t. Also- how much strain is that putting on testing labs in California?  Are we going to see people released from the show because their budget is taking this hit?

There is a time lag during which any of these people within 6 feet without a mask are at great risk between tests results, even if they are being daily.

I agree that this seems incredibly dangerous.

According to what I read on CDC's site, there are point-of-care COVID tests where the results can be available in less than an hour. So GH may be using those tests. If that's what they're doing, I sincerely hope it isn't taking the available tests away from other people. We have a friend who was routinely denied testing in her state even though the medical staff suspected she had the virus.

I traveled out of the country because I was moving and part of the check in requirements was having covid test within 72 hours of departure and you needed to present a negative test result. There are several places in the state offering testing and I had my results in 15 minutes.

However, you are right about those who are asymptomatic. The current tests being used are actually quite unreliable at detecting the virus in people who are asymptomatic and even those showing symptoms don't always present a positive test result. Last I read, those with Covid who have symptoms presented a positive results only 70 percent of the time. Also, there is a period between transmission and detection, so someone may have Covid but it's too soon for a test to pick up on it.

Valentini said GH has two covid advisors. If they are using rapid tests does that they allow them to film with closer distancing?

asymptomatic  people with COVID 19 should still test positive but yes there have been issues in all states about false negatives & positives

I think the biggest issue with  asymptomatic people is that they feel fine so they do not get tested. But if GH tests everyone daily hopefully tests return acturate

    •   Thank you! Agreed on both posts. And the comments about Mike Manning are nonsense.
    • I haven't watched yet, but did they explain the current ownership of The Bistro?  Because when RonC was writing, wasn't he applying for work with Sophia?
    • I think Brandon has gotten better in normal day to day scenes, but he’s very over the top when the character is meant to be angry or agitated. I did laugh when she started yelling at Leslie and then when he started to throw all those damn books, lol. He needs an acting coach to work out some of these kinks.
    • I've never found him as bad as some. I think he's always shined in scenes with Vernon, who should be his father. I also think he has great chemistry with Kat and Dani which I hope they tap into more over time. Dani/Martin feel like such a fun and believable Auntie/Nephew relationship.
    • I'm fighting for my life on another board for my husband Brandon and I'll do it here too lmao
    • I don't expect Lois to be the same person she was 25 years ago, but she's definitely lost a lot of what made Lois unique.  It's clear the show doesn't know how to write for her, and the sole purpose of Lois is to hide this Gio secret.  It's a shame she doesn't interact with more of the canvas.  It's a waste of Rena's talents. I like Brook Kerr most of the time.  She can be hit or miss.  I totally get what you are saying about her line readings too.  I honestly think the character really suffers being stuck in the Curtis pairing.  She's much better than Tanisha Harper's Jordan lol.
    • Friday and yesterday's episode is what daytime television should be. The other shows airing could take a page from yesterday's show.  I loved the rage, hurt and anger Nicole unleashed on Ted.  Daphnee should be up for an Emmy nom for these scenes.  It broke my heart to see how Dana had locked Eva out.  I do feel sorry for Eva.    I am still bumfuzzled as to why Leslie/Dana went to the DuPree's and asked them to accept Kat UNLESS Eva is really Kat's twin (and really Nicole and Ted's daughter that maybe they though they lost or an embryo Dana/Leslie stole??) I loved how Anita and Vernon both shot her down.    Ohhh and let me just say Friday and yesterday was the MOST fire I have seen Martin have since the show started.  Maybe Brandon Clayborn is coming into his own with the role finally.
    • You've been seeing him all along. You just didn't know it was him, I guess.
