Agreed.

Hiring names and wasting them and bringing in new characters are Frank's worst qualities as a producer

I can't wait until all of his secrets come out. Hopefully, him and buddy Valentin will then scurry out of town with their tails between their legs.

And what is MEK doing as Martin. I get he is supposed to be creepy but I dunno there is something that i cant explain yet. So i guess MEK said he knew of talk that Martin & Laura could be related given her bio Dads last name and MEK would like to work with Genie again

I could see FV going this route to extend MEK's stay

I think Valentin will be here as long as JPS wants the gig

I adore Watros and she did give a nice performance but it's hard to care about Nina. Nina is just a waste of a character, pointless and not needed. Even Watros can't make her work, sadly.

And also, it's pretty disgusting to see Lulu treated as the bad guy. I burst out laughing when Valentin and his bug eyes threatened her. Jesus. Frank wouldn't dare let Lulu have a backbone against his pets. Heaven forbid ... and the way Maxie was talking to her? Lord. I wish Lulu slapped her. Can't wait for that annoying twit Maxie to learn Peter is trash.

Maxie and Lulu have basically become the same person. Can we dump one of them?

Better yet?  Since GH is full-on sci-fi again, thanks to that "memory mapping" crap, there could be some freak molecular occurrence that causes Maxie and Lulu literally to fuse into one person.

I think making MEK's new character a half-brother to Laura is an interesting speculation by fans, but I wouldn't be surprised if the writers just pulled the last name out of the air.  My mind gets mixed up on old story lines anymore.  Wasn't there a character named David Gray, a nice looking Ken doll, 80s style (who wore a leather jacket all the time), that was chasing our Laura around the time she married Luke, or was he chasing Laura Templeton?  I truly don't remember.  And I admit being stupid enough to think that maybe the now departed Margaux Dawson was related to Jane and Howie of early 70s GH fame.  Nope.

Yup.  David Gray was initially responsible for Laura's (Spencer) disappearance.  I forget how she ended up being held captive by the Cassadines, though.

IIRC, David was Luke's antagonist in the Sword of Malkuth storyline.  Supposedly, Luke magically developed psychic powers that propelled David to his ultimate fate.  (I didn't watch, I'm just going on what I've read).  Fortunately, though, they dropped that aspect of Luke's character after the storyline wrapped.

I don't think GH ever connected the dots, but David could have been some sort of minion for the Cassadines, aiding the curse Helena put on Luke and Laura. I mean, if Luke has superpowers, why wouldn't the Cassadines be demonic?

@vetsoapfan, in your honor, I'm giving the world's most pronounced eye roll.

Thank you everyone for the help on David Gray.  I had absolutely zero memory of Luke's psychic powers or "The Sword Of Malkuth".  Good God, how silly things got in such a short time.  In 1980, Lesley was slapping Monica at a Quartermaine party, very adult, and it descended to this comic book storytelling.

ToddFrankenDrew's  accent is extremely irritating. Much like the actor.

Kim's obsession with her only friend in town's husband is pathetic as well.

And then there's Jillian.....

    • Yep, that scene was at the conclusion of the Derek Thurston vs George Packard storyline, when Kay decided neither of them should run Chancellor.  By the time she put Victor in charge, Victor had been on the show for months & months with his Rolls Royce, his ranch, and Newman Enterprises.  SONY released some Y&R "trivia cards" in the late 1980s, and one of the questions was "who brought Victor Newman to Genoa City?" The answer on the back of the card is "Kay Thurston, to run Chancellor Industries", and it's a wrong answer lol.
    • I think someone said it did exist, but I can't remember.
    • The bit with the scarf reminds me of the fabled stuffed animal scene with Rick and Phillip. (That wasn't debunked, was it?)
    • Ohh, interesting. I instantly gravitated towards her in that episode. Of course I'm already hooked and want to know why she was trying to poison that older lady, but then how did the older lady know to switch the mugs so Susan drank her own poison...  but I have too many timelines I'm watching right now haha.  Oh, Bolger is definitely hot. I didn't realize he was on GL haha. I knew him from OLTL and other primetime stuff.
    • This is a effin shame. Eff Trump and eff the bastards that enable him.
    • I 100% agree but I think this is due to how the show is structured. It's a one family show which means there are no people in her age range that could be used as friends or contemporaries of her. The show definitely needs a second main family. I am glad someone finally said this. Especially now that the cast is gelling in their roles, he stands out like a sore thumb. No energy, no chemistry with anybody. He is just there.  I thought that was odd as well! The previous scene would've worked better as a tag for the credits.
    • That's the one and only Carrie Nye (Mrs. Dick Cavett) as Susan Piper, a deadly realtor. I don't want to spoil a lot if you ever want to see those episodes. She returns as another character in 2003. I think Grant has aged well and he always did a good job at being ripped without going too far, but he was never entirely my cup of tea either. I did think John Bolger was hot.
    • Totally agree. KKL looks great! It makes the Widge groveling so bizarre. Brooke needs to leave FC and with $B's/Liam's funding launch a rival fashion house with Hope, Rick, Katie and a secret designer. The best scenario is that Rick has been absent because he's been with very much alive C2, who is revealed on the runway as the secret designer. It'll never happen because B&B is comfortable just focusing on FC and the Forresters Marones v. Logans. But it'd been so much more interesting if the Spencers/Logans united.

    • Haha that scarf thing did go on a bit too long, very odd. And what a young Rick!  I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I just never got the physical appeal of Grant Aleksander, but he's definitely a great actor. Who is the older lady around the 8:30 mark, and also ends the episode, alone and in pain? She seems like a really interesting character. I love the smoky voice and sultry, snaky vibe she seems to have.
