My pleasure...now that I have figured out how to do this.

It's a shame the print is so small. I hope folks don't get eye strain from reading the articles.

I have tons more stuff, BTW, but my ancient scanner is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow. It took me a couple of hours just to post what you can already see in this thread.

This is amazing, thank you!

I have found a work around for the small text, at least in the Chrome browser. I right-click the image and hit "open in new tab."  Then I go to the tab and click the image and it is very big.  You can adjust even more by hitting CTRL+ to make it bigger or CTRL- to make it smaller.  The quality is VERY good.

Amazing stuff! I can't read to read the commentary in full. Maybe my eyes directly go to the sharp stuff, since I was landing on comments like "Georganne LaPierre (Heather) has to be one of the most untrained actresses to appear this year."

And hel-lo there, Beau Kayser!

This works extremely well, and it only takes a few seconds to enlarge the text to a very readable size. Thank you so much for offering us this solution. I downloaded the articles in full size, but the text appeared significantly smaller once it was uploaded to SON. I was wondering if potential readers would just give up in frustration, which would be a shame because I wanted to share some long-lost goodies with the community.

While I cannot promise anything (I can only share what I find), what kind of stuff do y'all want to see?

The last time I moved, I threw out a huge amount of classic magazines, which was the BIGGEST and DUMBEST mistake of my life. I'd kill to get them all back now. I'm lucky that I have any left at all.

I've found some Afternoon TVs from the 1970s and plan to upload content from them. I loved that mag's book-length life stories of both characters and actors. I know I have the ones of Bert Bauer, Julie Olsen, and Viki Lord. Woohoo!

I don't think he was as bad or as bland as some of the other actors cast in the role, but I agree that AA was not right for Mike.

    • I really have no problem with Kai as a character or with the actor. The problem is putting together two very nice people -- Kai and Trina. Neither of them has a bad side, neither of them has a devil on the shoulder, neither of them is impulsive. I think that's a problem in a soap relationship. Yeah, I agree. All this freaking out might make sense if Lulu wanted to do a tabloid expose on BLQ's LOVE CHILD. We have no indication that's the case.
    • So Sonni would have somebody to talk to who she wasn't conspiring with (Will or Alan)? Alex kept telling Sonni how important her friends were...when she had virtually no friends. Instead they created loyal servants like Jane and Vera to give Alex people to play off of. They did that with Iris on AW, but Vivien was mostly there for comic relief Alex keeping Marah's paternity a secret was absurd. But I still love the scene between Alex and Alan where he convinces her by reminding her how they protected each other from their abusive father. Chris and Bev ATE that scene. Unfortunately, that took place only a few months before he exited the show...always thought they could have built on that, explored more how being Brandon's children screwed them both up. Maybe even used it as an explanation for the way their relationship could constantly swing from hatred to love. Instead of it being merely dictated by the plot.
    • The first one is Cass Winthrop dressed as Krystle Lake on Another World (not from his original creation of the character to hide from the loan shark Tony the Tuna, but at a romance convention trying to find out what had happened to Felicia who was missing). The second one is also Another World, Jake McKinnon as Doris although I don't recall what his purpose was.
    • I know there was one brief scene in the summer of 1989 where Lillian did mention Calla.. but in relation to her past relationship to Ross and it was to Roger while he was a patient at Cedars.  I think he was trying to pump her for information on Ross.. and for some reason, Calla's name came up.   I could see perhaps Beth mentioning that her mother Lillian was visiting Calla.. but not exactly giving any sort of details as to the going ons in Calla's life off screen.

    • They're neither great nor terrible AFAIK, but it is more a question of the streaming numbers in this day and age vs. actual TV airings. The Chibnall era reminded me much more of the crisis years, but I do think it's a very real possibility now as well due to the streaming bubble collapse affecting the show and its prospects.
    • ANYTHING to get her off the screen..she COULD have been interesting if she and Van had a few face offs..(there was a mild one of her going back to work...but I wanted something meatier "Bitch, I am Vanessa Chamberlain and I don't take advice from someone who followed the..career path you did!" I did like Alex's outright disdain for her.
    • Thanks @Vee for the commentary.    I haven’t even watched this season yet after  I couldn’t get past the couple episodes last season…like it was too Disneyified for my taste, although I did think it was a least better than the Chibnall era (but so is a lot of things). I’ll probably go back and binge it now. Hoping this season ends on a high note. I did read the ratings are terrible. As it stands I’m beginning to feel like what long time DW fans felt with S26 in 1989.
    • Yes, they are all on contract. Next.
