Agreed, some of the storylines can actually work, they just lack the hype and dramatic excecution of back in the day. Some of the sets actually look good too, just wish they'd dim the lighting, the production looks cheap compared to B&B and Y&R

"Dawn of Day"?  Are they really calling that cult "Dawn of Day"?  That was the name of the soap Rhoda Morgenstern was watching while she was unemployed on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," lol!

The anniversary episode saddened and angered me for so many reasons.

Laura pimping for Sonny and praising his virtues, in a chapel of all places??? Gag me.

That vile degenerate Franco being in any way related to my Scotty? Over my dead body!

Gail's memorial did not warrant even ONE flashback of...you know, GAIL?

It was great to see some rarely-used vets. I'd watch regularly if Lesley, Monica, Scotty, Laura, Mac, Bobbie, Lucy and the other REAL core characters of GH were featured on a weekly basis, but we know that now the anniversary is over, we'll go back to having the same irrelevant and/or repugnant "filler" characters rammed down our throats every day, whether they should even be part of the show or not. (Of the current contract cast, I'd immediately axe the vast majority of actors.)

Sigh.

Kristina has been missing brain cells for a while now. Its sad

Yeah after those scenes, I wanna give good luck t whoever becomes Nina, cause the character is dead to me & when  and IF they learn of the mom/daughter connection I hope Willow spits in Nina's face

Stafford  was bad in those classroom scenes, and she looked bad, too.

The whole thing was absurd. No school operates that way. The kid would b3 moved to another classroom or her rich parents would private school the little witch.

The principal warning Willow was laughable.

If you look at the site, they also sell cardboard cut-outs of some of the characters. That's the craziest as who is included. The only thing I kind of like is the Kelly's mug, though I am not sure on the font. If they had a Retro-hospital GH logo item well for nostalgia's sake, I'd like that.

    • I really wish we could see that episode...absolutely, my memory could be faulty, it was a very long time ago. I'm not going to contradict what the actors said--there has to be a reason it made them so uncomfortable that they talked about it in the press and complained to TPTB. I think that was the first one where they made the point that they wanted to educate the audience about the subject.
    • I just did with GL and its made me very happy!

Oh yes, trying to get into any soap from scratch starting post-2010 would be hard. I prefer to go back to the good ol' days, before the decline.
    • Can we talk about how iconic the 1994 tornado was on AMC? I was scanning through old episodes last night and came across this episode. The tornado was epic and the storylines/aftermath were so good (Julia's scar/Noah!; Jenny/Ray/Nola/Jesse in heaven with Tad, etc).  For 1994, these special effects and budget for this big event were amazing. 10 out of 10!  The only thing missing is Erica!  I can't recall where Erica was at the time, but I really wish she had been involved in this storyline.

    • On the way to her own engagement party? I've read that the show had trouble getting the audience to sympathize with Rita, but...that seems bizarre. Maybe I can understand the issue with the censors, given that at the time, rape wasn't depicted the way it is now, and marital rape was even less acknowledged.  Wasn't Chris Brooks' rape one of the first honest stories on the subject? I just don't think I could get into a show I didn't have a working knowledge of. I know it's a different era, but I really tried to get into GH once Maura West joined, but it just never jelled.
    • Yes it was! My mom and I convinced my dad to get one. He was--how shall I put this?--on the thrifty side, but one day he came home with one as a surprise. To this day, I'm convinced it fell off a truck. (He knew people with "connections."

) BUT, we had our VCR and we could watch our soaps. That thing lasted forever! It was built like a tank. Even when we got new ones with more features, we kept that one.

Blasphemy!  (Haha, I get it.  But, you should try watching AMC! 80s-90s was so good.)
    • I thought about saying how I resented the fact that those two newbies were tripping up the Puppetmaster of all Puppetmasters, when the best others could do was a stalemate (or less...). But, well...*sigh*
    • I read years ago that both Zaslow and Lenore both complained that it came off as a seduction because of CBS censors, so Lenore asked if she could say, "you raped me" to leave no doubt with the audience, and that Zaslow insisted that Holly's rape played realistically
    • Wow it’s official, Gatwa is out… https://www.avclub.com/ncuti-gatwa-addresses-doctor-who-finale-statement DW fandom on Reddit is in a furor over how things went down and apparent last minute scrapping of the original ending. Also…Billie Piper again really?
    • He comes pretty close, talkin' about how Reva is full of love and joy, blah blah....which is bilge considering he was the one responsible for throwing her out of Josh's life over working with Alan.
