Wonder what Josh will do with Cane & the twins? They've been seriously sidelined...

I'm not sure. Though

Spoiler

Cane will make an appearance next week. There is a spoiler for next week that says that he gets a reality check. I wonder what this is about. Maybe something regarding Lily and the state of his marriage.

I'm expecting them all to ride off into the sunset after neil's funeral. Lily and the kids to leave with Malcolm.  Cane to disappear or to finally be used like Brad as  a Romeo for all the white female leads.

So their wrists and ankles are tied but they can't bunny hop to the door?  LOL.

The writings credits are now saying being written by Josh Griffin and Mal Young. I think on today's show and yesterday as well, you could see Josh' s influence in the writing. I believe he may have decided to make the decision to have Mia really sleep with Arturo instead of him just walking away like originally happened. Arturo really is a big hypocrite. He bashed/threatened Kyle for kissing Summer after Lola broke up with him, but Arturo cheated on Abby when they were together, with his brother's wife again.

I wonder what will end up happening with this storyline involving the introduction of Ana's dad. It still seems like Ana isn't telling the whole truth for some reason. Jet doesn't seem like he's really being deceptive, but I do wonder if there is more to this storyline. Elena is very cute and I could see her and romance eventually happening between her and Devon.

Also, I wonder what type of complications Summer has from her surgery. I do think this may force Kyle to tell more people that she's the donor and I also think it may make him realize he cares for Summer more than he realizes.

Looks like I'll be back to regular viewing again since around July 2018 then.

Oh, and Mal...

This JT story has been pretty awful since Day1.

Josh is going to have to work miracles to get the show back on track.

Seriously don't know what can be done.

The vets are played out and the newbies are dull.

I think the show has been pretty good lately. Josh needs to do good things, but I don’t agree that it’ll take miracles.

I think all of the younger actors are well cast at least. Loren Lott is a find and if they were smart they'd make her the center of the younger crowd (so of course they won't), Kyle, Fen, Summer (!) and even Abby are all good to competent and if they had better stories they could really soar.

Mia, Lola, Rey and Arturo are decent actors in stories that absolutely cannot be salvaged. Cut your losses, show.

I agree.

People kept trying to sell the redeeming quality of a domestic violence storyline but the foundation of the story was shaky at best and the set up was atrocious.

You have to spend more time building a storyline than what Mal/TPTB were willing to invest.  You can't just 'parachute in' a longtime character who had reasonable popularity and then all of a sudden convince people that he's a wife beater based on an invisible backstory.  It was awful from the get-go.

A lot of us thought the same with the Hilary character and strengthening her character as well as making the Hamiltons a 'super couple' for the 2010s.  It never happened.  In fact, Y&R seemed intent on going in the exact opposite direction.  I'm not sure how smart Y&R/Sony/CBS are, they seem to make lots of decisions based on pure folly.

At least, in the last 10-15 years, they have...with increasing regularity.

Y&R in keeping their vets at the forefront compared to other soaps has managed to make them played out at this point. love the vets but idk. We need new charachters, preferably not too young because youth storylines these days aren't intresting.

I think the show did center Hilary. Just not in a way we had hoped. She became the catch all villain for most stories.

Sometimes I long for the days when teens took over the canvas. I'd rather that than Jack macking on some girl half his age. Or Victor and Nikki having the exact same problems for 40 years.

At a certain point with these supercouples (especially nick and sharon or victor and nikki) it's either they're staying together or they arent. Find a different source of plot conflict outside romance, it's tiresome, or at least greatly extend the period in time before their relationship hits the rocks.

Arturo was the one Rosales clan member I disliked the least and now they’ve rewritten it so that he cheated on Abby with Mia. Way to go Josh, way to go 🙄

I’d be happy if viewers gave Josh Griffith a damn week before whining and moaning and bit_ching about every damn thing under the sun.

Here’s what I read:

1. Get rid of all the young characters.

2. Get rid of all the vets.

3. Get rid of all the Rosales’.

4. Fire Mal again even though he’s gone.

5. Bring back Michael Muhney.

6. Bring back Victoria Rowell.

7. Bring back Olivia.

8. Bring back Mamie.

9. Bring back Ashley.

10. Tell Josh Griffith he’s already screwing up.

11. Rewrite all the stories.

12. Throw out all the stories.

13. Wake up Bill Bell from the dead.
