It's time to re-build the Winters family, and with the sad death of KSJ, a huge cornerstone black actor has left the stage. Who would you cast as Neil to carry on Kristoff's legacy and ensure the continuation of the Winters Family?  Perhaps Terrell Tilford or someone of that caliber?

No one. The show can create an older Winters male character for that generation and marry him off to Olivia of Yolanda to bridge the gap. They can allow Neil to leave his half of HWG to him to assist Devon in business. Even have lily work out how she feels slighted over it. If not leave it to him, make him executor of his estate

Neil's family tree is a little murky, so it's quite possible a half brother could appear. 

But no to a Neil recast, It seems direspectful  to Kristoff.

I don't want Neil replaced with another actor. This was KSJ's role, full-stop.

 

Y&R needn't bother recasting anyway, as they had no use for the original.

I absolutely agree. Very distasteful. 

Too soon, and unnecessary. 

 

Part of the success of Y&R IMO was that a lot of the core actors remained on the show. They became family. Recasting KSJ would be a slap in the face.

Agreed that while the OP's intent was not meant to be callous, it comes across a little like asking a widower who just lost his wife two days ago "So when are you going to remarry?"

Huh-uh.

Malcolm recast is better option. Neil should be allow to pass with dignity. It's the right the to do to recognize KSJ's contributions to the show.
