GH January 2018 Discussion Thread

Laura as mayor of PC?  That seems even more ludicrous than LUKE as mayor of PC.

Yeah, if I were Genie and I'd been handed that potential storyline, I'd walk, too.

FV has never cared about iconic GH characters. All he cares about are his beloved OLTL rejects. It's so unfair. Laura should be the heart of GH. It was Genie along side Marland & Monty that saved GH from cancellation. I'm surprised Genie lasted this long on contract. It should've been Laura that had the spotlight episode . Instead of that mob hag Ava.

Well at least Laura has integrity and morals unlike most of Port Charles peeps. But yeah Genie isn't getting anything juicy story wise.

While I'll miss GF, I think she made the right move for her career.  She was being treated as "filler material" instead of being placed front and center as she should.  I would have walked too.  If  they want an appearance as Laura, it is totally on GF's terms now.  Hopefully, we will see her again.

Actually it wasn't her choice.

I stand corrected, and that's awful!  I still have confidence that this beautiful and talented actress will land on her feet.  I cannot  for the life of me figure out what FV was thinking with this decision.

This is the second time FV has let GF go from contract to recurring. When is his contract up?

I know in 2016 he renewed his contract but I don't know how long it was for

Genie's already on her feet. She's got her Hallmark stuff and her marriage to Jonathan Frakes, who is quite well-off thanks to Star Trek and his directing career. She doesn't need GH.

I'll watch Genie in her new projects.  I think with her off contract, I have resigned myself that for the rest of GH's run, it is going to be "Mob Hospital".  I'm not even going to waste  time to complain and risk de-railing this thread.  I wish Genie all success.
