If this was B&B, it would open the door for Babby and Jabby. I was hoping Dina's return would reveal John is Ashley's bio dad. They never did DNA. Plus it's not like Dina wasn't sleeping with John - see Traci born years later. And since John didn't know, he presumably slept with Dina close enough to conception that he didn't question it.

I don't get why we should be invested in Ashley's concern that Abby will discover the truth about Brent Davis. I mean, why would this girl CARE that much? It makes no sense.

Abby's digging into Dina's past doesn't make any sense, either. When has Abby shown this kind of concern about family members' pasts?

Agreed. I'm not really sure what the point to all of this is. Are they going to have Abby turn on Ashley or something and make them be adversarial or something? Which I'd rather they not. I don't get it. But the whole show is aimless and pointless at the moment so I guess it fits right in.

Exactly. They tried that with Stitch and it fell flat. I could see Ravi - 'the sage and wise-one in all Abbott matters' bringing up the DNA issue eventually 'saving the family.' Ravi, who can only connect with women close to 60+,  ends up with Dina and they go back France together to watch opera and paddle board together.

There seems to be absolutely no payoff to revealing Ashley's paternity to anyone else who doesn't already know, including Abby.

It's been about a decade now since Y&R was able to plot out a storyline where they didn't telegraph how a story will resolve itself. There is no inherent suspense or epiphanies to be revealed. Why bother?

Nobody cares about this. They are about 25 years too late with any Ashley paternity revelation story.

Exactly. The most I could see coming from it is Billy, Traci, and Abby crying over the revelation, but they'll move on from it. There isn't any long term affects from this story. Abby might question her Abbott side for a second, but she'll get over it.

But we do get flashes that Hilary is a bit more complex such as her loyalty to Jack. We saw she was a bit more complex in her helping Juliet.

    • Not my guy. Just thought he was cute. These photos are not flattering, especially the facial expressions.
    • This. These people will never admit they were wrong.
    • He told The Chicago Tribune: ❝ It was a choice I made because I had itchy feet. ❞ Which, to me, reads he wanted to do things outside of the limits of daytime. And, after that, he did end up returning to Dynasty for an extended run and some other primetime work in L.A. Law.
    • I liked they are doing this! A throwback to when they did game show appearances in the past!

    • Well before the craziness starts, I just wanted to say that off of this week's promo...I love that show so far stays playing all the beats. And just when you think they forgot about something or someone mentions a loose end here...it circles back around. I love the attention to those plot details. So far.
    • Sadly, it won't.  If anything, it'll convince the donors and others even further that they were right to push Biden out of the election (never mind that Kamala would've been on standby had he been unable to fulfill his duties as president).
    • Interesting..this is more then likely why I found Reva 2.0 boring and annoying..she had everything she wanted...now what else is there but some outside evil person or clones? It also might have been one of the reasons McTavish had Quint have an affair..it made Nola loose her Prince. But unfortunately they didn't do anything with it but made Nola a sad sack whiner. I wish they had her write a book..of course, some tell all which would make everyone pissed at her, especially Van.   Long was desperate to sideline Van into the Lewis hole. They had Van working at Spaulding again in 85 around the time Alan came back. I would love to have had Henry and Van tired of Alex dragging some nobody blond guy and trying to install him as a Spaulding, and fight to get their part of the company back. They could have used Ross to help them and of course, Billy would be p*ssed off that Van wasn't sitting at home and her old sharpness comes out.
