The name of the character from DYNASTY you and others, as well as publications (!!!), so often misspell is not Krystal, but Krystle. It drives me nuts. What they're doing in the upcoming pilot is irrelevant and doesn't change the original spelling.

If Dynasty had been done in the 90s, Krystle would have been called Sydney, Taylor or Madison.

Dynasty belongs to the glitzy/rich/preppy 1980's. It will flop in a modern setting. I can imagine what kind of cheap scuzzy production values this will have. Expect beards, tats, flip flops and man buns . 

 

Cristal has been cast (already).

I have a feeling this is going to be a major failure.

May have some dirt on the pilot, though I am not a Dynasty fan by any measure. If I get a look at it I may check back.

DYNASTY has found its Jeff Colby.

 

 

They've tweaked the origins/backstory a bit, and I like it. The only things I don't like is Fallon turning against her father and the fact that Blake will be feuding with someone his daughter's age. They are REALLY going for the younger ages with this one.

This sounds terrible! And changing the ethnicity of Jeff and his backstory takes away the whole Carringtons vs Colbys plot arc and history from the original series. Me no likey.

No Dame Joan as Alexis? No show worth watching.

It doesn't sound that different, just updated. It's a remake so I'm not surprised. I'm interested and look forward to seeing how it looks. I love that they're taking their notes from season one which was the best season of the original. It had a REALLY strong opening hook that led in perfectly to Alexis' arrival. I'm very curious who they will get to play her and when they'll bring her on. 

 

Jamey Giddeons mentioned he's read the script and the only thing he mentioned is that everybody is younger. That doesn't bother me. I always thought Linda Evans looked too old to pull off the younger wife thing so I like that their ages are adjusted accordingly. I'm curious what the full cast will look like. Just what Carrington's and Colby's will launch the show. Will Steven be around still? Cecil with Jeff? Will they include the Blaisdel's? I hope not on the latter part. I also wonder if they'll pull from later season additions like Adam, Dominique, Sammy Jo, etc.

I've also gotten the script, but haven't read it yet. But I am no big Dynasty fan, so I'm not a good judge.

 

Could not give a fúck that the cast is less white.

If it's anything like the Riverdale thing that's going to end up being lip service anyway.
