WOW!!! is all I can really say....LOL

as did most of you, I HATED what Jill changed with the show, sets and especially music wise....but I didn't particularly think it was horrendous in all honesty, but I do think this is a smart decision and really hope Pratt is out the door too....

I feel like I will never really get my hopes up anymore, when it comes to the show improving, but I'm still curious of who is going to replace JFP.....and I will just let time decide if they are successful or not...

Honestly why not hire Wendy Riche who would be great as EP. They need to give this show a veteran exec producer. Jill lasted four years and she won two emmys for best show. What if Steve tried to move Jill over to DAYS?

I said from the moment she pushed Pratt in the building her days were numbered. Bet she regrets all those costly sweeps stunts early in his tenure that lead nowhere.

I hadn't paid attention to Y&R since MAB and Rauch went bananas, Jill brought me back. I'd sum up her tenure as alright, close to mediocre. She's had some bad and some good but I've been able to watch consistently since she arrived and find things to enjoy. I just hope Pratt is out right after her and the next person can restore the richness and class that always set Y&R apart, it's been lost since Latham.

I remember reading that JFP changed the Chancellor mansion without informing the highers-up or the cast so maybe that is what did her in. She didn't ask permission (even though I'm sure in theory the highers-up couldn't give a [!@#$%^&*] about the old Chancellor set. It's about JFP making autonomous decisions and Sony/CBS establishing control).

Truthfully I don't think Pratt was *that bad* for Y&R. Honestly, LML, MAB and whatever that mess was before Pratt was worse.

I hope Tognoni stays. Ain't nobody who wants Stafford back but The Staff.

JFP does deserve some credit, at least behind the scenes. Things were a mess before she got there with a lot of mismanagement and infighting among the crew and cast - that changed when she took over, and by all accounts the cast and crew liked her a lot. MTS for example has said that this was the first time in over a decade where she felt a producer had brought a sense of normalcy back to the show.

But yeah, I don't have a faith that a change in producers/writers will mean a better quality show...

It's been 61 episodes since I've watched. They are on the DVR, and I may watch, may not. UpChuck and JFP have been drumming the life out of the show for how long?...Hoping that UpChuck is next to be shown the door. He can take overused Amelia Heinle with him, among others...<looking at you, Dullan>. I will say under JFP the show was better than MAB or Latham...but really, how could it not be better considering their tenures. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.....

    • Another great episode.  GH has been pretty good this year, loading up the chamber, because now there's many bullets to fire, and another one was fired today when Nina found out Michael is the father of Sasha's baby.  I hope this secret comes out at the hearing.  I've also liked the slow burn with Gio/Emma. There's just so many things to look forward to on this show now.  GH is finally back to being really good.
    • I'm all for it. Get them Nina!

    • I am blown away that Christie Clark is 51, and she debuted 39 years ago. They gave her a lovely script today.  But, I could not think of any other examples in culture of someone able to jump right back into the skin of a character, after virtually retiring from acting years ago. I was trying to recall if Carrie left for a bit with Anna after Roman died (because she wasn't at Bo & Hope's wedding), and then returned as a pre-teen Christie?  Or if she was just SORASed off-screen?  But, whenever I see the character I am reminded how much more trauma she's endured than Sami, and yet she remains such a nice person.
    • Weirdly I feel like Nina was the most sus about the entire situation.  Normally I would have given this one to Carly, but Nina was always kind of trying to make it make sense. I think Nina (and Alexis) are actually really smart characters.  They just constantly get in their own way with dumb plans lol.
    • Rewatching some of 1991 I had to appreciate what a strong week March 5-12 1991 was. Cassandra dies, Nina shoots David, Sheila switces the babies, and drunk Nikki all occurring simultaneously. 1991 and 92 were pretty strong overall.
    • Still loving all the Gio fallout, but the scenes that really surprised me this episode were the ones with Nina and Maxie. I was not expecting Nina to be the one to put together all the pieces about Sasha's baby daddy. This custody hearing is about to get explosive!
    • I really hope after the secret comes out their interactions don't stop
    • BAHAHA  I needed that laugh today. Talk about one note.  I would put Derek and Ashley a notch above Dani. Dani's scenes are basically rinse, lather, and repeat for 60 episodes and counting.  It's as if she was transported from the soap opera Passions onto this soap.  MVJ should put aside her friendship/admiration for Karla and look at the fact that this character isn't wroking as written.
    • Agreed.  It doesn't feel in character at all.
    • You could always tell whenever Douglas Marland enjoyed writing for a particular actor, because he'd pull out all the stops for them; and Julianne Moore was no exception.
