Ah, ok. Thanks. I mean, to do all this and possibly want a third hour for just that? Ben Sherwood is not the right choice to run ABC IMHO at all. It's like they hire execs to deliberately sabotage things. Like Frons. It's sad.

It's disgusting how much money these people have but why do you care and why do you know so much about her? Lord take a chill pill bro.

I do agree about the third hour bombing. Two hours is plenty. I don't need Lara and Strahan hamming it up for an hour. No one cares like they think they do.

I would imagine that whatever ratings Today gets in the 9am and 10am hours are better and cheaper than any talk show (the last one being Leeza) or soap opera that would otherwise be airing there. Same location, same sets, same crew, and some of the same hosts. I'm sure that the cost for airing ads differs from hour to hour to hour to hour. My TiVo used to record only the first three hours and considered the final hour with Hoda/Kathee Lee as a separate one-hour show.

That said, GMA doesn't need a 3rd hour. If they do go that route, I'm sure it'll still be profitable, but it'll make the network programming during the day even more of a wasteland of talk, talk, talk. Airhead hosts talking about the same damn "hot topics" from show to show. There's already too much.

If I were ABC and NBC I'd be worried about This Morning on CBS. It is the only morning show that has gained in HH, Viewers and Demos...

I don't think we have.

Someone should develop a series about the behind-the-scenes goings on at a GMA- or Today-like morning talk show.  I think it would be amazing.

Has Matt Lauer truly recovered from the "Curry affair"?  Or does the stigma remain?

As the deadline.com article suggests, if and when Ripa DOES return to that chair, it is bound to make for some awkward television between her and Strahan.  (Thanks, Carl, for the link!)

Ironically, under different circumstances, the full-time move to GMA might have been perceived as a boost to GMA, to ABC, and to Strahan.  But now...?  They might recover from all this, but it's going to take some time.  Just ask Matt Lauer.

Chit it's been all over the press I think people want to see her reaction. Why doesn't Kelly Ripa just lose the co host and make it Live with Kelly. Turn it into a solo talk show. She makes more money becomes the next Oprah. Chit they said Ripa contract up next year she wants between 30 to 35 million a year lmfao. Ripa will be worth over 200 million by time she's 50. A former soap actress turned rich.

I suspect we would have had a few withdrawals next year if Israel had won. I don't think many people would relish going to Jerusalem as things stand now. Not to mention it would have been a prime target for terrorist attacks.
    • And they've given us plenty. Sets, outdoor scenes, music licensing, etc. And that was the point of me using DAYS... so. It's obvious the casino set is not intended for long-term use, hence why it's likely it wasn't as evolved as the other community sets, etc.

    • I just had thought of how to save the Perkins family. (Inspired by Rituals) -- What if Marisa Perkins was Augusta Lockridge's sister? Fictionally, they could've both been local girls, one married rich and one married poor. Originally, I was going to suggest that Marisa be Sophia's sister, but then I realized Joe and Kelly would've been first cousins.  Of course, it would've truly inspired Sophia was if Rosa Andrade sister, with Rosa and Santana moving in to help CC raise the kids once Sophia disappeared.  While this could've avoided both gross CC and Santana affairs, the times were not right for a story about intersectional inequity.
    • https://www.instagram.com/p/DJxW5DLJLId/ Another World is my forever favorite soap opera. But it's finale is almost universally hated by its fans. What this is, is an edit where I've deleted everything I didn't like!!!
    • The Perkins family had potential to be a nice alternative to the more dysfunctional Capwells and wackier Lockridges... but I think a few factors did in the family. 1) Recasting of Joe Perkins 2) Bad casting of the Perkins Patriarch, and the one note writing for that character. 3) Lack of antagonistic interaction between the Capwells/Lockridges and Perkins.  (There was no awkwardness between Jade/Ted.. or CC disapproving of his son being friends with that Perkins girl, etc). 4) Wasting of Jade thus wasting the potential of the actress (which was realized on Days of Our Lives).  She had more potential than Laken oddly enough. The only member of the Perkins family that had appeal and a somewhat thought out story arc was Amy.
    • @GymnastGuyThanks for posting the three new Capitol 1985 episodes today. The two labeled March 12, and 13 are misidentified. The March 12 labeled one actually aired November 12 1985 which I figured out because Kenny Rogers' movie Wild Horses aired November 12th and it was announced over the "March 12" Cap credits. In addition, Craig Carlson is listed in the April credits but not the March. Craig left Capitol sometime after July 1985 before he rejoined OLTL in the credits by October 15, 1985; he was replaced on Cap by Radcliffe and Hamner. In these posted episodes Radcliffe/Hamner names appear in the March 85 episodes but not in the April.
